I came to graduate at the University of Tasmania. The Federation Concert hall is directly opposite Zero Davey. I chose ZD because of the kitchenette. I could not fault it. The bathroom is a delight to use with space for toiletries in the shower and fluffy towels. Heaps of hot water. I was on the ground floor and the road noise did not bother me one bit. Once everything is shut up its barely audible. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I also wanted to see the statues that Irish artist Rowan Gillespie designed. They are just metres away on the wharf. I will stay again without a doubt.
Functional room with the basic mod cons including good size fridge and washing machine. Dryer is almost useless - a clothes airer in the room would be very useful for guests. Road noise is apparent at all times due to room proximity to the road however the aircon does full the noise. Bed was very comfortable and the location of the hotel is excellent. The balcony is not useable. I would stay here again.
This is our fourth visit (we come back every 2 years) The standard of the rooms the service from Chris and Tom is of the highest level and the aspect that we rate very highly they value return costumers 👍👍 This is situated on the Constituion Dock area which is central to all activities including the Salamanca Market Our timing was over NewYear with the Sydney to Hobart fleet in and the food and Wine fester always also on the docks Highly recomend
This is a modern and spacious apartment. It's close to the harbour, restaurants and walking distance to Salamanca Market and Hobart city proper. There is available secure parking. We had a comfortable stay here.
We love to go to Hobart for weekends. Its a quick flight from Melbourne and Constitution Dock has everything you need for a great weekend. Tours and Salamanca Market are in walking distance so no car is required. We stayed in the penthouse in Zero Davey as we had a family of 5 to accommodate. I cannot describe how superb it was. It has huge room, a separate parents bedroom and massive ensuite with bath and spa. Upstairs are two more bedrooms and bathroom. There was an separate office space is you are travelling for business and the kitchen is huge, fully self contained and it has a large fridge- none of those bar fridges here, We have stayed at Zero Davey a number of times as a couple and with our adult children as well as for business. I have experienced a room overlooking constitution dock which was also superb for 2 people. I have also stayed with colleagues in a 3 room apartment below the penthouse. Equally good. This is real value for money too and our go to place in Hobart.
The 3 bedroom apartment was more than spacious enough for the 6 of us. The living and dining room were incredibly big and the kitchen was superb. There were only 2 things that we weren’t that excited about... the laundry cum dryer was too much of a hassle for our 5 night stay as the clothes were never that completely dry and when they were put for another round of drying, they came out very crumpled instead of crease free. (The dryer would beep continuously until you manually turned it off) Another thing was how the 2 shower areas had no doors and as such, the water splashed out while showering and couldn’t keep the cold out when one was drying one’s self after a hot shower. However, we weren’t that perturbed by it as we were a family of 6... however, this might be a pet peeve for some others.... especially if you treasure your privacy while showering in the master bedroom (no doors to the bathroom)! We didn’t use the huge bathtub in the master bedroom either as we never had enough time to soak ourselves.
My family had a great time staying at the Zero Davey. The staff were friendly and helpful. The interior was clean and well-furnished with daily conveniences. My kids particularly liked the modern and contemporary design in the apartment - it felt like a home away from home. The location was fantastic - next to some very good restaurants and right by the 2 docks. We had never stayed so close to the sea and this was a novel experience for us. It was also within walking distance to the Tourist Information Centre and the Hop On & Hop Off Bus, so that was another plus.
Stayed at Zero Davey Boutique Apartment Hotel with a group of friends for 2 nights from 18 to 20 Nov 2017. We stayed at penthouse Zero on level 7 with view of Hobart Pier and its waterfront. Very spacious apartment with 3 sizeable bedrooms, living room, dining room, well-quipped kitchen, laundry and toilets. Interior décor is done pleasantly - you just feel really at home. Location is conveniently situated near a lot of eateries but about 25 minutes walk to grocery stores. The walk is not that bad especially on a cool sunny day. Very appropriate for family stay or group of friends. We have so much fun and laughter.
Very convenient location, studio apartments are well appointed with kitchenette to prepare breakfast lunch or dinner. Comfy bed with crisp linen. Unfortunately no view of the Harbour. Reasonable price. Friendly and helpful staff.
The website needs to make very clear, to avoid disappointment, that some rooms have no view of the harbor, nor of anything else (see photo). To warn about small balconies is not the same as warning about zero view. The front-desk staff need to try to be more accommodating when a guests wishes to change rooms -- even accept a downgrade -- to get out of the zero-view room with traffic noise (the term "deluxe studio" implies that there is a lesser studio; there is not). The front-desk staff also needs to be willing to call a taxi for a departing guest, instead of suggesting that she schlep her luggage down and across the road to reach a taxi stand. Apart from that, the deluxe studio apartment is enormous, with a well-stocked kitchen, large bathroom, and comfy bed. Ironic, as the apartment's lack of view makes you want to leave it and stay out of it. Would be great for a businessperson spending a week or so in Hobart. Clothes dryer is a plus. Location is convenient to everything.
