Service was great, but cleanliness a concern

The staff were very helpful, and having free parking at the rear of the hotel was a real bonus. However, the room felt quite dated, and the bedding did not seem as clean as expected, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. There was also significant road noise throughout the night, and I experienced itching while sleeping, which raises concerns about possible bed bugs.

This hotel needs to be either renovated or destroyed. It’s dirty smelly and dated. The staff are friendly but that doesn’t make it worth staying here. It’s too expensive for what you get.

Good stay. Central location yet tucked out of the way. The room was clean & the staff were helpful & friendly. Only downside was the bathroom which was very dated so therefore looked very tired & looked grubby. Rust on fittings & leaky taps etc

This a very old building and the room I stayed in has not been updating in decades, if ever. There is no AC and it was quite warm but there was a small fan that helped a bit. Bathroom was very outdated and it was hard to get a consistent temp to take a shower. Staff seemed to be very attentive. The ground floor lobby has been renovated and looks great. However, I never used the lobby or bar due to it smelling really and of body odor the entire time I was there. They either need to get some ventilation or use air freshener. Likewise, the elevator smelled like pot the entire time. It was the cheapest option in Watford but was still quite expensive based on the quality as well as options in central London. It is also sub par for Best Western chain. A bit of better management could address most of the issues and hopefully they will renovate the rooms..

Staff and breakfast were very good. The lobby area is nice and modern and gives a great first impression however the rooms are dated and in need of a makeover. The bathroom in particular was very disappointing. And at one point there was water coming in through the bathroom ceiling. I called reception and someone come up and advised they had told the room above. Didn't seem surprised that this was happening said it was just overflow.
