I overnighted in the Hameenkylä Manor after a pre-christmas party of my club. The manor is very old, some of the buildings date from the 1800's. All are renovated and the main building is new. The location a bit aside the main road but still close to the airport and city of Helsinki is both a boon and a draw-back: arrival by car is easy, parking ample, taxi ride expensive and public transport cumbersome. The rooms are very nice, mine felt brand-new with an excellent bed and good air condition. The bathroom felt fine, the new "raindrop" shower was fun. The night was quiet but in the morning sounds from the corridor could be heard. The breakfast was a let-down: the selection was more or less satisfactory but the scrambled eggs and carelian pastries on offer were not hot, barely lukewarm (breakfast-time is 7 - 10 on sundays, I arrived at 9), and some dishes stood empty for too long, as did the bread board. The personnel was friendly and the ambiente fine, but especially the breakfast service needs a real upgrade.
Just about 20 km from Helsinki city center this scandinavian style and totally reburbished / re-built complex offers good facilities for business meetings & educations , but it also have a modern restaurant open daily. You can find this place most easily by car / taxi but also bus connections are available. We we just gathering into small business meeting at lobby and after that enjoyed a good meal. Place is actually in same suburban town as Helsinki International Airport, but totally without any noize, just looking like you had come into countryside. Just at this moment (November) they are doing some construction works outside, before winter & snow will arrive.
Nice hotel close to a large lake, very scenic. The rooms are large and clean. The interior has a simple, Scandinavian style. My room was located in the pool house, which gave me the feeling of staying in a gym. But the room itself was very nice with a great view over grass lands, lake and forests. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast has plenty of choices but coffee is unfortunately very low quality. Food at the restaurant was great but quite expensive.
We stayed here as a rest prior to flying back the next day. The hotel was a little out the way (roughly 35 euros by taxi each way) but the staff were pleasant. Its more like a campus of sorts. For dinner, we considered going elsewhere but due to the location and cost of getting to the nearby town, we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. There was only 1 option for vegetarians on their al a carte menu for which you have to enquire about. I read the reviews for the breakfast which swayed me in favour of choosing this hotel. However, we were disappointed by the lack of quality and choice in food. There seemed to be only 1 person, who stayed in the kitchen and then would come out to help people if needed. We had come down at least an hour before the breakfast was due to finish and most of the food was either finished or cold. Comfortable to stay but not worth the hype of what they advertise.
A little bit slow check-in. Nice, clean room. Very good food in restaurant. Bar service not good. Breakfast very good! Not so happy, that the spa was private booked. So we had 30 min to take a swim at arrival day. Next morning it should be opened 7 am, we were there 7.05; closed - and we tried to call the reception- noone answered. We were in hurry, so had to go for breakfast. This was not nice, but in July as I was here, everything was perfect.
I spent 24 hours here for a meeting with some Finnish clients. Excellent bedroom, very good meeting room, and really great service. Nice food, good breakfast. I have suggested to my clients to come back here.
Had a brunch with my wife and mother. Lot of people, so it must be good? Pretty expensive but everything was good. Price little bit high but maybe ok. Make a reservation cause they make food as much as there is reservations.....
We stayed one night after arriving late in Helsinki by flight, and leaving for a long drive early in the morning. Reception area is nice and spacious and the receptionists were pleasant enough, though a smile probably wouldn't kill them. We were given a room in the meadow wing of the hotel, which is the farthest from the restaurant and reception. When we arrived it was late and the hallway leading to the rooms felt a lot like a bunker from the war (however it was a lot nicer in daylight). Rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Bathroom was small but clean, modern and with an amazing shower! The hotel grounds are nice, though spread over a big area, so prepare to walk. I read somewhere that this hotel had really good breakfast...whoever wrote that was wrong. It has when you need, but that's it. Very disappointing. Overall an ok stay, but I will try somewhere else the next time we come to Helsinki.
A True pearl near Helsinki. With a beautiful surroundings and clean luxorious rooms. You should definetely try "the steak" in the restaurant, it's the best around. The costs for staying are also comparable with avarage hotels in the region. Simply a good value för money.
We stayed here for 5 nights to visit family and a wedding at the manor. Location was great. Easy walk to the bus and market and also to families homes. The hotel room was clean and nice. The wedding held at the manor was very beautiful and food was really good. We ate the breakfast one day but not much to our likening. Things to make note of: only 2 towels in room on arrival, had to ask housekeeping for more. There is also no refrigerator or microwave in the room. This was tough for us because we like to have a few cold drinks and also no ice machine so we had to make a homeade cooler with ice from the market. Overall a really nice place.
