Modern 2 Bedroom Apartment In The Heart Of Historic Hastings Old Town

This modern apartment is very spacious and has been recently renovated to a very high standard with new carpets throughout, new 3 piece suite, drapes etc. It is ideal for a family holiday or short break. All windows are double or triple glazed for peace and quiet. There are two bedrooms, a double and one with two single beds (which can be pushed together to make another double) there is also a sofa bed for an additional guest if required. Huge lounge - dining room with big satellite TV. Fitted large kitchen/breakfast room with washing machine and dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and hob. Separate toilet and bathroom with power shower. Ample storage space for cases and kit. Free Wi Fi using the fishing tackle shop below BT Infinity business hub (which is very fast about 70MB). Parking is not allowed in the courtyard behind the apartment except for unloading and access is very tricky through a very tight Old Town archway - for modest cars only. There are plenty of public car parks within easy walking distance.
Basic provisions (bread, milk tea coffee sugar etc.) will be provided initially. There are several shops nearby for essentials and several supermarkets in town.
The apartment is heated and features a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, an electric kettle, and an ironing board.

Martyn was a very welcoming and helpful host. The apartment was very clean and well equipped plus there was tea coffee sugar bread butter and milk ready for us in the fridge when we arrived.The situation in the Old Town of Hastings was great offering lovely pubs, cafes and quirky shops.The walk to the beach was just a few steps and the new town with shopping malls just a 15 minute walk.We loved our 5 day break in February. We had a lovely weekend celebrating 2 friends' 60th birthdays. Martyn was a great host, very friendly and helpful. The location is great too! Highlights of the trip were the Escape Rooms, A Scavenger hunt and a wonderful meal at Undercliffe House. All in all a great stay - would highly recommend!

Overall good for mid-range expectations

The positives - Martyn (the owner) was very friendly, very quick to respond to my questions (and came up to the unit to help with the washing machine). He allowed me into the unit a little earlier than I expected. The space was great, the pictures were accurate, the price was fair. The apartment had obviously been cleaned between renters, there was plenty of bedding and towels. The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach and lively George Street.The negatives - the apartment was clean, but it needed a "deep clean" eg cleaning of blades in vent fans, cleaning of cobwebs off of window openings in kitchen window. It really could do with an update/refurb in kitchen and bathrooms. I was not able to take a bath because the water drained faster than the very slow fill. Showering was difficult because it was glitchy and either too hot or too cold. We visited during a really hot period and there was no A/C so I spent the whole time feeling sticky (the owner could not have changed this). It really depends on your expectations. If you usually stay in Motel 6 type accommodation, this may be okay for you, and there's nothing wrong with that. I booked here, because it was pretty difficult to find accommodation in Hastings in summer. I generally like to stay in 4 or 5 star accommodation. Thus, it wasn't that comfortable for us, but it was decent for a budget place.Martyn was an absolute sweetheart and very accommodating. Location is perfect.

The apartment was great for our needs, very spacious and a lack of breakable knickknacks which is perfect when you have a 1 year old running about. Thick carpet was really cosy and it felt very peaceful due to the triple glazing helping to muffle outside noise. My only two complaints - We slept in the twin beds and the mattresses were uncomfortable and felt old, and the WiFi repeater emitted a very high pitched and unpleasant sound all the time - wonder if there is a solution for this?Overall the flat was a great size and had everything we needed. It didn’t bother us too much but there was quite a bit of dust around, and corners that hadn’t been vacuumed. Like lots of places it could do with an update but it suited us for the two nights we were there and we’d probably stay again as the location was great.

Perfect stay

Wanted to visit the shops/art gallery/museums in the area. This location could not have been better. Needs some up-dating but the cost of our stay (very reasonable) reflects this. Reluctant to complain but the apartment is listed as 2 bathrooms whereas in fact it was a shower/bathroom and a separate loo and sink. Overall would highly recommend. Thank you Martyn.
