We came from Newcastle and stayed the night. We wanted to try the monster sharer and it did not dissapoint. The food was cooked to perfection and very tasty and the waiting team were superb, our drinks were always topped up and they were always making sure we were ok. The restaurant was super busy and there was not one time i didnt see a queue out of the door. I was a bit apprehensive when i saw how busy it was but the whole team had it running like clockwork. The rooms are not expensive at all and would of cost more in taxis so we decided to stay the night. A few minor flaws.. there is no bar area to just have drinks, we like to relax and unwind before dining but giving how popular the food is here they need all the tables they can get, 2 the hotel stands alone and nothing else near by so driving is essential. 3 Just 1 pillow each which were very flat so we both woke up with stiff necks however like i said minor issues. Would definelty come back and stay.

Wooden floorboards creaked every time someone walked past the room. Doors slamming, bar music very loud, compressor outside my room, A19 traffic very loud. Worst nights sleep ever. Very noisy hotel. Room not made up during the day. Had 3 wet towels on the second day. Won’t be staying again.

This property is dated and dirty Was left standing at reception and eventually had to go and find staff Was given a key to our room it was dirty and smelly cigarettes had been smoked in the room the base of the bed was stained also it wasn’t a nice experience just walking into the room. The staff did try and sort a solution for us but we declined and when to premier inn just up the road did get our money back a few days after thank you for that this hotel needs to get a cleaner and redecorated or just keep it for contractors as they are the ones smoking in your rooms

The bedroom was very clean. Bathroom needed lots of tlc - especially the mirrors but it all worked. Only three (poor quality) pillows - it’s a double room, surely 2 pillows each! There were two teacups, one very big one very small. Only one milk supplied. Kettle had water in it. No-one on reception - had to go and find someone in the restaurant. Staff and restaurant were lovely.

Not good

Not a good experience. Woken at 3:30 am by someone trying to get in to our room and then the next night by fire alarm at 3am. Pillows wore about 1 inch thick and no extra ones in room. No bed side light. Black mould in bathroom. Car park of a good size with well sized spaces.

The food/staff and drinks were AMAZING!! Will 100% be back to use the restaurant. The hotel part could be equally as good with a little investment. The beds are awful. So uncomfortable and squeak and creak with every breath you take! The room was tidy and clean but very tired. Towels had holes in them. And the doors were very loud when they closed. Very loud. Definitely recommend the restaurants. And even the hotel but bear in mind the beds are not great.

Stayed here for one night. Relatively clean but room was desperate for an update. Bed was stained around base and off the supports at bottom. Spiders and webs in the room corners. Socket where kettle set up was broken. Room was facing main motorway so noisy all night and no sound proofing windows. Car parking at hotel reception area surrounded by over flowing bin units and discarded old furniture. Staff were friendly enough though.

Avoid the hotel at all costs

The food in the restaurant area is reasonable, good price and portions. Some staff have a poor grasp of English. The location attracts a lot of lower-class people, for some reason (probably the food portion size and prices). The hotel itself is grim to terrible. I would not recommend this as a suitable location for someone on a business trip, unless your business is dealing drugs, in which case it's perfect. Especially for those rendezvous where you need to move suspicious packages between vehicles in the car park, avoiding the undercover police officers and observation/evidence gathering cameras (which there must be, judging by the clientele). Someone tried getting into my room in the middle of the night, and I noticed the handle was damaged in the morning. The beds were not made, and shower soap was just shampoo. When I came back to my room in the afternoon, the door to my room was slightly ajar; someone had been in and not closed it properly (I suspect housekeeping; however, there was not much housekeeping done). It was a good job I had taken my valuables/laptop, etc, with me, else I suspect this would have gone. There was no point making any complaints as I felt it would fall on deaf ears and nothing they hadn't heard before. My fault because you pay for what you get in life, and for £50 per night, I only have myself to blame...... never again
