The hotel smells, the air conditioning is noisy and doesn’t cool. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast from the menu and it arrives with bacon and sausages. I had to send it back. On my last trip I had to beg the hotel staff to have a decent cup of tea at the buffet breakfast which is why I decided to order room service this time. There are many more much nicer hotel in the city. If you have a choice: AVOID this one.
I was in Hanoi for a business trip and stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. As my flight got delayed by a day due to some technical fault in the plane, Hotel management was very helpful they readily changed the booking at last moment. I checked in around 11 PM, the process was smooth and the hotel room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was really big and having a nice bathtub. The bathroom had a very large window with a view of the whole room, there could be a privacy issue when staying with family. Breakfast area was nice and had different varieties of breakfast served. Hotel room seemed a little overpriced for facilities provide. The surrounding area was good.. there a shopping mall nearby..lot of eatery places ..mostly Asian food available.
I checked in at about 4.30 PM but the rooms were still not ready They gave me a room it was like an apartment with all facilities including Microwave etc It looked as i was on holiday & not on business. The room was clean but looked & felt very old type.
Self-answer for above question: Absolutely not! In terms of amenities and facilities here, there is absolutely nothing special if not to say that it is inappropriate to combine with each other. The bathroom of a 5 star hotel but no feet towels, what?!!!! That’s not all, the attitude of employees is very boring, serving customers with a indifferent attitude. The process of check in, check out completely out of standard, I was not provided with enough information such as breakfast time, breakfast location, etc... I have evaluated this hotel very badly but fortunately, there are also some bright spots to pull back, staff named Dinh Huu Tien, is a very good, cute and dedicated employee. The operator is also very good, although I don't know the name, she accepts my request clearly and gently. Maybe because of that, I left 3 stars for this hotel instead of 1 star!
I stayed here for five nights while in Hanoi on business. You can tell it once lived up to its name and tries to remain 'grand.' The hotel is faded, but I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The staff of the hotels and the restaurant were helpful and accommodating. I was only sorry I didn't have time to try the spa. Word of advice - the bathroom had a large window that exposed it to the rest of the room, but there was a shade to provide privacy. The room also came with a lovely, deep bathtub.
After reading the reviews they are 100% correct and probably we picked the wrong hotel , although it was booked by an agent ! This is a business /stopover hotel on the outskirts of Hanoi, on what I can only describe as the M25. It’s on a really busy main road so you can’t really go out anywhere at night walking. The reception area is huge and impersonal. There appeared to be a lot of Koreans there when we visited primarily on stopovers or golfing holidays . This became apparent at breakfast the next morning as the food was mostly Asian /Korean and we were the only western dinners. The rooms are also huge , but with two big very comfortable double beds and a huge bathroom with bath and shower area. The rooms decor wasn’t really to our taste as it was very dated. We went to the two restaurants upstairs to eat but they were both closed . You could get snacks in the bar downstairs but it was a bit intimidating with children as it was full of business clients in suits. If you are visiting Hanoi on a private trip not a tour then this is probably not the place to stay. It’s too far from the center of the old town .
There’s nothing wrong with this Hotel apart from possibly the location. It’s big & dramatic & a little ostentatious but as a hotel the rooms are big and they tick all the boxes plus the dining room is efficient and the gym is big with a great little running track around it. BUT There will be better options if you’re looking for something closer to town with more atmosphere. If you’re on an overnight stopover then this hotel is fine but if you’re exploring Hanoi then I would stay somewhere more central with a mixture of nationalities. We checked out after 1 night as we wanted to be more central but this was more due to a lack of homework rather than any massive problem.
Stayed here for one night during the business trip visit. Very comfortable stay and good gym they have for workout. The breakfast menus are very wide and all the options available. We have long day meeting there and staffs were very friendly. Service was also good.
The Grand Plaza hotel is what you would expect of a hotel of this price. The facilities are exceptional and the rooms are large and immaculate. However, after travelling for over a month my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves here for a night and were disappointed at how uncomfortable the other guests made us feel. Although the staff weren’t rude, they were also quite cold and hostile towards us. We were constantly glared at and felt too uncomfortable to leave our room to enjoy the many perks the hotel offers. I’m not sure if this was because of our younger age, nationality or class. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Grand as the name says , very artistic interiors at the hotel lobby with Victorian golden artwork . Dedicated Korean , Chinese & Vietnamese restaurant. Try the Beef Pho with condiments. Plenty to choose breakfast options. Hotel is well connected with markets for shopaholics. Nice city view from the TOP floors both in daylights & night. Very busy traffic you can enjoy the views from your room. Big comfortable rooms . The reception staff (late night are not professional enough be careful to book your morning alarms & transportation to airport if required early morning airport transfer. I had bad experience on this )
