Surprised to find such a lovely hotel among the tea gardens in Hangzhou in Longjing area. It's a very tasteful hotel and it has an exquisite Chinese restaurant. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. A very good to come home to after a tiring day out at West Lake. Highly recommended!
We needed a quiet and peaceful place to get away from our metropolitan home in HK so we booked this hotel. The location is just lovely, with tea plantations everywhere and the air was pristine, there is just one problem, our stay at the hotel was anything but peaceful. First the hotel room was nice, bed was comfortable and front desk staff was helpful. Mr. Hu, a intern at the hotel was keen to accommodate our needs and even helping us with carrying luggages to our room. Room size was average for the area, we had a partial tree/ parking lot view. Bed linen was clean and crisp and bed was comfortable. Bathroom shower area was dated, toilet in separate space which made it easier for traveling with companions. Breakfast was quite ok for RMB80/person. Both Asian and western choices were available and food quite tasty. The biggest drawback was the noise we encountered; the room ventilation was not adequate so we opted to open the windows which could have been nice with fresh air except our next door neighbour talked loudly and they smoked in the balcony. We could hear everything they said. They did lower down their voices after several complaints. The next morning was worse, there was a party chartered near the parking lot and we heard loud noise from 9am onward, we complained but nothing was done. The people was talking and eating loudly, early morning for heaven sake!! Our stay would have been nice if the hotel was more sensitive to the need of their guests wanting a quiet stay; after all there were so many other choices in the price range if it was not for the purpose. The true value of staying in this hotel diminishes as it is in a remote area of Hangzhou if guest can not enjoy a peaceful and quite stay. We expressed our concern and the management was apologetic. I sincerely hope they improve as this could have been a nice place to stay in the lovely Longjing Tea plantations area.
Usually stay here, as it is good for business meeting. This time, the check in process was smooth. Had dinner in the restaurant, the food and service was all perfect. Just a note that the new menu does not have English anymore... The room was good and clean, a few mosquitoes that made me worried, happened before as well, next time I bring a mosquito plug. Had an very early start, they packed a breakfast to me at 5:30, all done without any fuzz. Will stay here next time as well.
I was dropped off at the road by a taxi driver who most likely had not taken a fare here before. I had a 3/4 of a mile walk back to the hotel. Once I saw the front of the building I knew I was in the right place. The staff was very attentive not everyone spoke English but, they would find someone who could. There is a restaurant in the hotel and a tea bar. My room had a day room and a bedroom. There is a balcony with each room from mine I see tea fields. The breakfast buffet is very good Chinese and Western foods they have a noodle bar I had noodles every morning. They dinner menu has some very interesting English translations but, you can figure out what they mean mostly. The food was good I ate breakfast and dinner three times each meal was very good I am a chef I have an idea of what is good what is poorly prepared and the food here is well prepared.
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend and quite liked it. The room was well appointed with a nice balcony. Breakfast buffet is good. Just don't expect western chain luxury hotel perfection. The staff speaks very little English, but more than makes up with charm and friendly effort to get things done for you. There was confusion over my reservation being for a king bed when I showed up with my same sex spouse. They tried very hard to get us a room with two beds. When we indicated the king is fine and pointed at our wedding bands, the staff smiled and was relieved. And we were treated like royalty the rest of the stay. Getting to West Lake and the city is easy by taxi. Staying back in the hills and tea plantations is very nice. Avoid rooms on the back of the hotel. They don't seem to have balconies and must be dark, facing the woods and mountain.
This hotel was a nice find outside the dense traffic and people around West Lake. Nice secluded property where you can launch from each do to walk the adjacent trails to the Dragon's Well or hop a cab to West Lake. The talking parrot was also fun to sit and watch/listen to as he welcomed everyone in Chinese. The restaurant was fine for breakfast and the selection was very good. The room was a good quality and we had a large balcony to sit out on that wrapped around to and overlook of the pool. I recommend a stay here if you would like to get out of the city and reside in a tranquil tea field.
This hotel really does seem to be aimed at the domestic market. Found very few English speaking staff, and we definitely seemed to be the only Westerners at breakfast. Offerings at breakfast were quite limited if you didn't want Chinese food and possibly some of the worst coffee I've ever tasted. Didn't fare much better for dinner, as vegetarians there seemed to be nothing on the menu managed to convey this to one of the waiters who ordered up a few dishes for us we were presented with noodles rice and cabbage. Surely we can't have been the only vegetarians who have ever stayed there? Rooms were quite dark and in need of a bit if updating, first night we were put in a room in a corner right by the lift which was hot noisy and unpleasant. We asked for a room change and were moved to the other side of the hotel over looking the pool where workmen were to be found doing renovations to the bar and pool area. Big disappointment the pool was empty and unusable, who renovates a pool when it's 30c and guests might like a swim to cool off? As the only one of five hotels we stayed at in China with an outdoor pool was very disappointed. The shame of it all is I'm sure this hotel could be quite charming its location surrounded by tea plantations is lovely, very peaceful and was probably once quite modern but now needs some money spent on it.
This is about the 6th time I stayed here, the rooms are starting to be a bit worn down but still in pretty good condition. Restaurant have changed the menu totally to now have one with totally non understandable English and most of the local dishes are gone, bad, I liked the old menu, hope it returns. The breakfast is same as before and good, especially that you could make your own juice. Did rent bicycle as usual, CNY20/h, Ok, but hope they learn how to service them properly...this time the front gear where badly adjusted. All in all still the best place in Hangzhou for me
A visit to Hangzhou cannot be complete without a stay at the Landison Longjing Resort. Located in the countryside of Hangzhou West Lake surrounded by Green Tea plantations the Landison Resort is well equipped to address the needs of its guests. The hotel offers good quality services and convenient and comfortable accommodations. The hotel location will require taxi or an arranged vehicle for transportation to and from locations. If the visit is strictly for pleasure and limited to three to four days the car will not be necessary as there are good Chinese restaurants at walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is located in a village as such the roads are narrow and not well lighted at night. If considering walking after dusk a flash light is highly recommended. The hotel offer SPA experience and tea ceremonies. Considering the very special location for teas it is highly recommended to sample the large and exquisite selection available at the resort and in the surrounding areas. The resort offers good breakfast with a good selection of Chinese/Western cuisine, and lunch and dinner of equally good quality. The experience of staying at the resort will certainly be one of relaxation and peacefulness away from the ever growing busy life of the cities. A worthier experience.
I have been Landison hotel for 2 nights. It's a beautiful hotel in Lonjing area. Deluxe room is very big and very clean. Breakfast also is very good. Everything was perfect! It's really a great hotel for holiday. I will stay again next time!
