I travelled here in late November 2016 with 3 friends to attend the Christmas markets and general site seeing. Hamburg was indeed beautiful around this time and this hotel was in a good location for Christmas markets. On arrival this hotel looked slightly dated but was fairly basic as expected. When we got to the room (for 4 people) it consisted of a large double bed and a double sofa bed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and low to the ground. However the bed was comfy, we actually had a little race to get the bed first but sadly lost out to the sofa bed. But overall I would recommend this hotel, its does the job of a bed and shower for a few nights to enjoy the sights of Hamburg!
We recently stayed here on a visit to Hamburg to watch St Pauli play. The location is great, just a couple of minutes walk from the ground. As we were 3 friends we tried to stress upon booking and upon arrival that our triple room needed to have 3 single beds, and whilst this looked like it may be a problem when we got to our room the 'double' bed was just two singles pushed next to each other ! Another friend had a double room to himself and the bed was two singles again, which was fine for us but wouldn't be ideal for a couple ! The only problem with the hotel is the weird key system for opening the room doors, we struggled everything, though that may have had something to do with our alcohol consumption ! The Reeperbahn itself is pretty crummy, for decent beers and food try Blockbrau or Zwick. If you're looking for English sport try Irish Pub In The Fleetenkieker. All in all a good value hotel in an ideal location for us.
Booked a short break and on arrival was greeted by the friendly reception staff. The room was on the top floor with the window overlooking buildings at the back. Plenty of space with a good sized bathroom (no bath it was a shower), TV with plenty of German channels and one English speaking news channel. Breakfast was nice with cereal, selection of cheeses and sliced meat, scrambled egg, bread rolls with hot drinks available. The hotel is ideally located if you are visiting the infamous Reeperbahn area and within a short walk is the train station and tour bus stops. And the room was nice and quiet with no traffic noise
This hotel is in a great location easy access to the underground 5min walk away even if that we had a room with a large double and a sofa bed for what we paid it's a good hotel only real complaint is the room could have done with a main room light to brighten up the room breakfast had loads on offer just wish it had some more hot food but was still good wouldn't hesitate to go back as long as the price was wright again
The hotel has a perfect location, close to everything. There are paid parking areas close to it. The breakfast is simple, but good and served until 10:30 / 11:00...which is great. The rooms are normal size (I was at the 5th floor, can't say anything about the lower rooms), but cleaned every day. Heating works great and the water as well 24 hours. I was happy one can really open the windows to get some fresh air. We had our bikes with us and we were allowed to park them in the hotel and that I really appreciate. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
We stayed here for 2 nights.the price was really good;the rooms were really warm and clean.breakfast was very tasty, only recommendations i would add would be ads more lights to your rooms as theyre quite dark, and put 4 pillows in the rooms as theyre quite flat. Good location;reeperbahn was mostly closed and felt seedy/dirty/overrated but theres many other things to see
We went to Hamburg because the flight price was too good to ignore and we've never been to Germany. This was a city break done on a budget (January!!) and the hotel really didn't disappoint. Nice clean room. Clean shower / toilet. Telly. Decent bed. Nice and warm. Fella on reception was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok - a lot of cured meats as you'd expect in Germany. Range of breads and a toaster. Rock-hard scrambled eggs which were quite tasty actually. Cereals etc. For what we paid, I feel cruel to criticise but 2 problems - no hotel bar : just a fridge of reasonably priced bottle of beer. To be fair, the hotel is at the top of the Reeperbahn so why would we drink in the hotel anyway? there's 500 bars within walking distance. My second (and most annoying) gripe - No fresh water in the room - I had to pay 4 euros for a bottle of decent drinking water. The tapwater was clean but unpleasant tasting. And no little hotel kettle / tea tray. I think I might be picking hairs to be honest. Otherwise really cannot complain. I'd go again. As for the Reeperbahn? You have to be open minded. Bright lights. Good food. Poverty. Music. Prostitutes. Sex shops and shows. Amazing bars. Terrible bars. etc etc etc. I'll say one thing - Germans are very welcoming and friendly and helpful. They could teach the Spanish a lesson or two...
A nice hotel with helpfull staff. Very central to the city and the harbour. Just a 10 min. walk. The room we stayed in was nice and clean, and the breakfast buffet was good. There is parking facility nearby.
I stayed at this hotel in December 2016 with my girlfriend for two nights. The hotel was fine - it is a low-budget hotel and offers a basic, 'no-frills', service. Breakfast was served every morning in the main restaurant area which was nice and tasty. Scrambled eggs as well as hard-boiled eggs with a range of breads, cereals, cooked meats, cheese, and juice with coffee. We had a double room which was smallish but perfectly adequate for what we needed it for (ie a base to sleep in!) The location of the hotel is okay. It is about 20 mins walk from the main market areas and around 30-40 mins walk from the main train station. Overall, we would return to this hotel. The service provided was good value for money and we had no complaints about any aspect of our stay.
A well placed hotel within walking distance of all the main sites. Reception staff are friendly & efficient and rooms are comfortable. A good choice of food and drink at breakfast although no non-dairy milk alternatives. There is a room to leave your luggage on the day of departure and a lounge to wait in. The only downside is that there are no options for a drink and snack. Check out Zwick rock and roll restaurant nearby and also Dom fair depending on what time of year you visit.
