We were visiting relatives and this hotel location was ideally placed just a short train ride in one direction to their home and the other direction for City and all the sights. Station 10 min walk away. Would definately stay there again when next visiting Hamburg
Nice Hotel with a huge park behind, actually a turf. Good for long walks or joggings, very relaxed. easy to reach, the U-Bahn is 5 minute walk. The room is a bit tight, but very clean. Breakfast is perfect with wide selection.
The hotel itself is fine. The official classification is four star and it fits this description but in a slightly dated way. The rooms are fine with comfortable beds. My main reservation is the location. If you want to be in the centre of things don't come here. The local station is fairly easy to get to on the metro system but the hotel is fifteen minutes walk away. Fine if you're young and fit but not much fun if you're older and carrying luggage. The breakfast, which is described as "only €24" is ridiculously expensive for a simple continental breakfast.
We arrived late about 9pm and for being Germany we were still able to dine, simple but good food. Staff very friendly, small room/bathroom but correct with views to the Hipodromo. Free outdoor parking.
Some of the staff a bit bored, keeping the head up a bit to high! Besides that, very good food in the restaurant, both a la carte and a solid good breakfast :-) Very nice rooms (at least the ones with a view to the horse race track were I slept)
the view from our window was nice looking over the race track oh though we were among a busy part of Hamburg with main roads surrounding. Friendly staff and nice rooms very relaxed all together. would recommend highly
We arrived by taxi from the airport (€20) after a lengthy delay to our EasyJet flight and had little time other than to have a couple of drinks in the bar. It was a welcome sight despite the late hour and the barman was attentive and happy to oblige. We had requested a room overlooking the racecourse and were not disappointed. The view was calming and charming. Above all you would not expect this so near to the centre of a major European city. We were even able to leave our patio doors open overnight to be woken by birdsong in the morning. We decided not to breakfast in but to pick up a coffee and pastry on the very short walk to the local station. (turn left out of hotel) The station is just a few (5) stops from the main train station and a day ticket after 0900 was just €6.50. After a lovely day in the city we returned to the hotel bar in the evening and we're greeted by the same friendly barman. He even remembered our drinks from the previous night, nice touch! Overall a thoroughly enjoyable 2 night stay. A way out from the city centre but easy access to trains and the benefit of a quiet location.
Well furnished, very quiet room with great view. Plus good quality of tea, water ad good room service. The parkin was on site, next to hotel. Neibourhood quiet, good connection to city available through bus and metro (station is just 10 minutes walking distance).
Clean, cozy, great for a business trip. Lovely view on a hippodrome and pond. Amazing breakfast - lots to choose from, fresh fruit, bread, selection of fine teas. Hepful staff. A bit far from the city center.
- perfect for business stay - very good breakfast - quite rooms towards the horse race track - nice and clean rooms - friendly front desk staff - good connection to public transportation - app. 20 minutes to the airport via taxi
