We didn't stay here, only used the restaurant and it was brilliant. An extensive menu but every Thai meal we had was cooked to perfection, it knocked the spots off of every one of the beachfront restaurants. Along with Ying Yings if you want great Thai food, cold Chang at a very reasonable price then give this place a try.
All in this hotel (bungalows) is approximate. The reception is very sharp (except may be the woman who seems to be the owner). We stayed 3 nights in the first bungalow. There was no sheet in the bed, but one filthy bedspread. Several holes in floor and walls. The hamock was disgusting. The top was the toilet room, really filthy with stains of every walls and door. The shower-head was broken, also the WC-lid and the door handle. Like there was a Muay Thai fight in the room. Despite the situation, not far 200m from the beach, no bungalow are in front-beach and other options have to be considered.
We had ac bungalow just a bit far from the beach to get the cooling breeze. Short walk through the property into the next (My Way) and you are on a delightful beach. No fridge or comp water. Bungalow seriously in need of basic maintenance. Not the best nor the worst that we've experienced during the last 3 weeks on Phangnan. For the price it's ok No noise issues n the eatery closes at 2030
Went to stay three nights, the beach is beautiful, white sand, crystal clear water, etc... Bungalows are within a 1 minute walk there. The place is ideal for kids, my 7 year old enjoyed running around and feeling free, without having to check for cars or motorbikes coming. It has a restaurant with good prices and tasty food. The bungalow is basic, we took the fan one and we were not hot, however, the aircon ones looked better finished than ours. Bed is OK, but old.
My partner and I stayed here 3 nights, though be warned, when looking on hotels combined we originally wanted to booked Salad Resort, which is next door.. The sight took us straight to this resort instead and without realising that the booking took us here, we were quite bummed that it didn't have a pool, like the resort we wanted. Anyway our stay was enjoyable and relaxing. The staff were lovely and most helpful. The food was nice and priced well also. The room was basic but comfortable and reasonable size, though the sheets were quite old and could do with an update. It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach which was lovely and has many restaurants and activities. Overall, a nice but basic stay :)
I chose Sea Salad, after spending 2 nights near Hat Yao and found I preferred Hat Salad. They were willing to discount, for a 3 night stay and have a number of options, including a/c and hot water. Although my room (No 1) had a/c, I found that I didn't need it during the night, as it cooled down considerably. There was some traffic noise, from a side road, which ran to another resort, but, otherwise, it was quiet. Even the bar, no more than 15 metres from my balcony, kept the music level low. But the star of the resort was the restaurant. Drinks were as cheap as I have found them, anywhere in the Thai islands - only 80Bt for a large bottle. Thai meals cost as little as 70Bt. But the best deal on the menu was the American breakfast. A massive fry up of eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, tomato and hash browns, along with toast and jam plus coffee and a plate of mixed fruits, for only 200bt. Outstanding! The lovely beach is only 150 metres away and, also very quiet. Fully recommended for couples, families and solo travellers of any age.
The bungalows are quite basic but it's close to the beach and staff are very helpful. We had an issue with our toilet and it was solved within 10 mins. The beach is lovely and quiet. Nothing like downtown with bars and loud music all day/night. Still close to shops and travel agencies.
We stayed here 4 nights and I have mixed feelings about this place so I will list the pros and cons: pros: - we got here and asked for a spare room, they kindly offered us one for 600bh the night with a/c. - the location is great, it takes one minute to get to haad salad beach (it is not a good beach to swim, but if u walk further into the ocean u get to see some corals) - it is really quiet at night except for the frogs and storms - it has a nice balcony with a hammock - it is very close to shops and restaurants - if you want, you can walk to nearby beaches (mae ka is 30min away, and mae yao is 10min away) -the food in the restaurant was really good, a bit more expensive than in pther places, but still yummy (although I highly recommend eating at Curry's!!!!!). Cons: - in the 3 days not once did they come to clean the apartment -the sheets were smelly and the inside looked really old -the matress and pillows are very uncomfortable. I usually sleep through the night and never wake up. Here i would wake up like 10 times a night tossing and turning cuz it was so uncomfy. -the girls in reception speak no english, and it is sometimes hard to communicate - the a/c device blows the air to the pillows and I got a cold on my first night. -breakfast wasnt included All in all we were fine, and for the price u pay (14€/night), you cant expect much... But I wouldnt book it if I had stayed longer since you need a good night sleep every now and then, and here it was hard.
This is a nice budget place with clean rooms and very friendly staff. It's not a very fancy place, but I had a very peaceful four day stay here, with no complaints at all. Also, the people who run the place are very friendly. They went out of their way to help me, if I ever had any questions!
I looked at their website and it doesnt look anything like what we actually got. 4 minute walk to the beach. bungalow not sealed properly - lots and lots of mosquito bites. Dirty walls in the bathroom. The english breakfast isnt very good. But the price for the stay was good
