The staff at both reception and the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and a good size. Great location on the beach and in a good spot along the main road, with bars and hotels such as Ark Bar not far at all. Restaurant food is delicious. Only negatives were the wifi doesn't reach far (pretty standard though) and the breakfast spread could be a little more elaborate, however I would definitely stay here again. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

I was skeptical when some reviews on TripAdvisor mentioned the condition was old. Let me set your expectation right. It was an old hotel newly renovated. Some old furnitures were repainted in white to give it a new life. So it wasn't they new new modern type of hotel. I've done sufficient research in order for me to finalized on Malibu. And we loved it. We booked the deluxe terrace room and the size was huge. Actually the basic superior cottage was smallest of all but of comfortable enough size. We didn't use the living area in our deluxe terrace room at all. The basic superior cottage rooms are nearer to the pools and beach while the larger superior terrace with elevated sleeping area are concentrated on the middle section and some scattered nearer to the pool among the superior cottage. The largest room would be the Deluxe terrace are located nearer to the lobby for easy access to the street and also only category available on 2nd floor. So if stairs are an issue, request for ground floor rooms. Aircond was cold and place was kept clean. No toothbrush provided in the bathroom. Pool area was lovely with lots of sun and steps from the beach. The beach was clean and quite too! When the hotel have low occupancy, the variety of breakfast reduced. Once our breakfast has no meat at all! Only the bits of ham from the omelette. But if the occupancy rate is high, they will add meat and local food to the spread. We had happy our during sunset and the vibe amazing. Good music, beautiful view, amazing cocktails and pizzas. But the highlight of our trip was the service at the bar. The waitress was a rare breed of service that was genuinely friendly and chatty. Her name was cute too, "Oh-Oh". In general, chaweng is super touristy and thus food are expensive. Recommend to eat at the shopping mall as the food are cheaper and better quality than the so call street food or food court by the street. Malibu located directly opposite the central festival mall will everything u need there including a supermarket. It's also surrounded by a lot of decent massage parlor. Avoid gg to local pharmacy as most items cost up to 4X the price as compare to supermarkets or Boots/ Watson. We love Malibu and couldn't get enough of Oh-Oh. She made our stay so memorably sweet.

We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon in April. The staff is very friendly and the receptionist spoke English so well - we were really impressed. I loved the stylish, clean comfy rooms! The restaurant staff is friendly and helpful, nice breakfast. Such a lovely swimming pool with huge clean swimming towels. I will highly recommend Malibu! We had a wonderful time.

Clean and cozy houses , right between the beach and the crowdy city. The staff is very kind the beach is the cleanest and best infront of this resort. I didn't try the pool because I prefer the ocean, but it looked cool. There are many nice restaurants nearby.

Loved this hotel. Right from the start the reception staff and restaurant staff are so kind and helpful! Very friendly and great English. The rooms were beautiful, we stayed in a deluxe room, upstairs which was very large and well equipped with a huge bed, great bathroom, lounge area and safe. I spotted the smaller rooms through the windows which also looked lovely. The location is perfect right between the centre of Chaweng and the beach. Just a stroll from shops, market stalls, beach, bars, restaurants yet tucked away down a long drive and nice and private. The breakfast is ok nothing to write home about but nice and all you can eat which is a good way to start the day. The lunch/ dinner menus we did not have a lot of but what we had was very nice. I recommend the Diavola pizza and a Pina Colada! Pool was nice, clean and well cared for. It's actually nicer than it looks in the hotel pictures and great for a refreshing dip as the ocean water is very warm! 10/10 for location if you want to be right in the heart of the biggest town in Samui but want a nice quiet hotel to relax in. 10/10 for the staff and also for the room. Stayed 8 nights, would definitely return!

It is very difficult to give rates, i will point out few things from my experience. 1. Staff wasamazing, very polite, friendly. 2. Our room looked old, smelled of mold, and unfortunately dirty. Bathroom really needs some renovation. 3. Instead of double bed we got two beds putted together, and not same high of the beds ... 4. Location is just amazing!!! Beach is wonderful. 5. Pool was really clean and great 6. Mistakenly my boyfriend took a glass out of the room to the pool/beach area. And left it there . Guys who works at the restaurant of course removed it while cleaning. We didn't really pay attention to it. Then While checking out, maids went to check our room and they saw missing glass, we had to give exact day and time when we left it by the pool so they could check if this glass is in the restaurants kitchen ... weird ... 7. Conditioner was directly pointing the bed, so we couldn't use it when sleeping

We had stayed in this hotel five couples . we all enjoyed it . Be careful when selecting the room they have the Beach Villas that are very small . Breakfast was poor , The stuff was very friendly and the location is great

Nice little place in Chaweng beach. Nice staff, and good smoothies at the restaurant. We hade booked so we could have breakfast each day and the food was ok but a bit repetitive. A nice touch thou was the chef that each day made an omelett or scrambled eggs they you wanted it. If you expect a five star hotel you are barking up the wrong tree. But if you are looking for a nice quiet place to either take a dip in the pool or the ocean this is a very good place to be. Lots of geckos to keep the bugs away :) Im definitely returning someday!

Ok, was a bit worried about going here after reading some of the reviews but boy am I delighted we ignored them... what a wonderful, magical special place these rooms are... you can hear the waves washing the shore and the birds singing in the trees at the same time... your literally seconds away from the beach. Rooms are lovely, big bed, TV with plenty of channels (not that you'll watch too much TV), good size sitting area... the magic of the Malibu beach are the amazing staff, they can't do enough for you.. We were here for New Years and the show, food and night they put on was simply brilliant (and all free of charge)... Just 2 small points, wifi is good and breakfast Is good unlike everything else in the complex which is marvellous... Can't understand this place getting any less then the 5 stars it deserves Well done Malibu resort you all make a wonderful team

We ordered pasta and a pizza. Pasta arrived 11 minutes before the pizza, which they seemingly forgot to make, as they started to prepare it after the pasta was served. My girlfriend had finished her pasta before i received my pizza. When i finally received my pizza, it was raw, the bottom was not crispy, but wet and soggy, the crust was soft and wet. When we pointed this out to the waiter, they asked if they could check the pizza and they took it away, we never saw the waiter or the pizza again and ended up asking for the bill, which we paid in full and walked away. They offered no solution to the bad dining experience and did not even say anything about my complaint, they seemed happy to ignore it as long as we paid and left. Would not recommend this restaurant, as there are several other restaurants nearby who are willing to deliver a better (and not raw) product for the same price.
