We loved our stay here! The staff is fabulous. They greet you with flowers and lemongrass tea. They upgraded us to a private villa which was a pleasant surprise and absolutely incredible! Great staff, beautiful pool, beautiful villa!
Other people's reviews say it all , this small boutique hotel is great , staff are outstanding and standards are very high - you won't be disappointed - so I will try and give some tips that might be helpful instead of repeating others comments: Weather Koh Samui has a different weather pattern to Phuket and Krabi, dry season generally starts in April and lasts until the rains start in October - weather has been strange over last couple of years with some extremes - this year so far has been very wet from Christmas up until end of march - same last year - so if you want the sun this period is not a good time to visit Sea Gulf of Thailand has jelly fish unlike the Andaman Sea - at this time of the year the sea can be a no go zone - this last fortnight there have been a lot of jelly fish in the sea that can give some nasty stings Bohput Beach The beach here has course sand that is very gritty - not sharp but can be a bit uncomfortable to walk on - the beach at Bohput in front of the hotels is on a slope, when walking along the waterline your feet sink and it can be quite uncomfortable and hard work to walk - if your thing is to walk hand in hand along the shoreline this beach is not for you - somewhere like Lamai would be better Fishermans Village A great venue - 5 mins walk along the beach to the road beyond the Anantara Hotel and then straight into the village - generally upmarket by Thai standards but restaurants are on the beach and as a result charge a premium price. Friday night is market night and a must to visit - make sure you book a restaurant though as they all get busy this night of the week. There are three restaurants of particular note - Nirvana, cafe darling(French) , Krua Bohput (Thai affiliated to the hotel who will give you a 10% discount voucher). Places like Smile (no smile) and Elephant look good but are very average and overpriced. A great restaurant is cafe69 on the main road - cheaper as big on theses front- the trip advisor reviews are pretty accurate so look them up . Best eating place - Supattra - near the airport , absolutely outstanding Thai menu , look it up. A great place for drinks at sunset and late evening is Coco Tams - bean bags on the beach and reasonable prices , funky music and great views . Koh Samui Lovely Island but far more expensive than other areas of Thailand - there are no Tuk Tuk's- taxis are expensive by Thai standards as is everything else - especially for us Brits with our devalued currency. Fab place though 😃 Hotel Used the Spa twice and thoroughly recommend it , hired the hotel driver for 3 hours to drive us around the island - 1800 BHT and again recommended . Private dinner in the beach was superb with a chef cooking you good at a cooking station set up next to you on the beach - expensive but very classy and romantic - thoroughly recommend. The hotel is small and extremely well kept - we had a Garden Villa which was great , however the implication of the name is that these are set up in a spacious garden environment - this is not the case as there is little in the way of lawned gardens - rooms are adjacent to paths and in certain circumstances are not at all private if next to the main path through the resort . Pool Villas are all private , ask for a Garden Villa away from the main path and a Deluxe room in the main block as high up as possible- as long as you can handle the stairs!! The staff are highly efficient - everything happens as promised - all with a smile😃 We had a fantastic holiday with the hotel exceeding my expectations - if you chose to stay here you won't be disappointed - enjoy
Awesome hotel right next to bophut beach good food and good rooms, swimming pool and facilities are awesome, service is good and staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are really nice and clean and some have jacuzzi in rooms!
From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right decision to stay here! We felt instantly relaxed and welcomed by the lovely staff. We stayed in a garden villa and it was perfect. The lovely pool and restaurant face the beach. . Staff were exceptional and I truly feel the staff enjoy working at the resort. The resort is well cared for (gardens and accommodation) and I noticed there were no maintenance issues, not like a lot of other resorts. The buffet breakfast is also excellent. Overall the resort and staff are a 10 out of 10. We hope to return one day.
It was mom's 70th birthday, and I have booked this resort for our holidays. The service and staff at this resort is wonderful, especially Duong who works at the front desk. She would go out of her way to make sure you get to the place that you want, and she will go to the breakfast area to greet the guests that you can rarely find in a lot of hotels or resorts. I was also deeply impressed by the birthday cake & decor that they did for my mom in our hotel room upon our arrival (which I mentioned at my booking about my mom's special day). It was a sweet surprise for mom and I was grateful for the arrangement they made. The only thing one should take note is that the resort does not have elevator, but the staff will take your luggage to the floor of your room. The resort was a short ride to Fisherman's Village which is a great plus. This is our 1st trip to Koh Samui, and it was a very nice holiday for us because of choosing this resort!
We arrive from Koh Tao, and stayed here for a night before meeting up with a group of friends. So Ko Sumui is a lot like Bali, in that the vacation rentals gives you a really great bang for your buck esp. when traveling with a large group since most of these homes will include a staff. So having experienced both, I'd choose Bo Phut Resort & Spa (with that distinction) again for my hubby and I. From the perfumed halls, the attentive and kind staff to the gorgeous grounds and rooms, this will not be any ordinary stay. You come here to spoil yourself and to forget about everything but being present, and to enjoy the magic of Thailand. We were very impressed with our room, it somehow incorporated island class: Beautiful art, first class amenities, lovely interior design, every detail is thought thoroughly through including a place to put your shoes. We had a gorgeous tub on our second level deck which was private and stunning. The hubby really loved this place, and was charmed by every corner of the room and grounds. I also loved the beach which was super clean, lovely lounging areas and service. Location is key, and this hotel is a great location of the island, esp. with the nearby famous night market within walking distance, restaurants, and tourist hot spots. BTW - If the Spa is fully booked, go across the street (go right from hotel) and the best massage place is here. We started there, and ended there after a week in Ko Samui. This will be the least expensive 5 star hotel, you will ever stay in. ;-)
We booked the standard room and delighted with our choice on the second floor. Large room, separate large shower, bath and separate toilet. Fabulously maintained grounds with good size fresh water pool. ALL the staff are absolutely amazing in every way. Breakfast good, had a set menu speciality Thai meal and it was fabulous felt very authentic and so much to eat, although not cheap good value. Had a wonderful spa treatment my first and was wowed by the massage and super masseuse. Location 5 mins walk to fishermans village, easier and slightly quicker via the beach, the road way is quite hazardous as the pavements are not good. Would not hesitate to return albeit the weather has been awful!
I've just read the latest review and find I can't add any more. I agree wholeheartedly with Ian B. We had a wonderful 6 days there. The location is ideal, rooms excellent and staff especially Eak very good. My husband and I have been to Koh Samui on several occasions over the last 20 years always at different hotels and this is in our top 5. We certainly hope to return.
We have just returned from our first ever visit to Samui and had to get a review together on what is the best hotel we've ever been to; the Bophut Resort & Spa. As a couple we aren't party animals so when researching where to stay we discounted Chaweng but, we also like to wander to interesting places and be accessible, so opted for this hotel and Bophut specifically due to proximity to Fisherman's Village, which is only 5-10 minutes walk away. After spending two weeks here I can say we chose perfectly, it was just right for us to have seclusion but accessibility. We were greeted after our fifteen hours of flying with a very aesthetically pleasing hotel, and a smiling man handing us floral garlands, before being sat down with an ice tea and cold flannels which were very much needed! And this was indicative of our stay, staff never oppressive but always attentive, friendly, polite and happy. One thing that struck us in particular was not their dealings with guests but the fact that they all clearly got along amongst themselves. They truly look happy to do the job and that goes from front of house, housekeeping, pool guys, gardeners, waiting staff and management. They offered the best, most attentive service I've ever experienced. We stayed in room 506 which is a "standard" garden view room. The room was immaculate and very spacious, with a large comfy bed, tv, mini bar, bedside control unit (for setting the excellent air con, turning on and off the lights), a lovely shower / wet room and a bath too. On the subject of the bathroom would be our first tip: if you're not particularly attached to your toiletry brands then I'd say don't bring them. Every day the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and alike are replenished (as well as four bottles of drinking water), and these toiletries are of a high standard. As we were staying for two weeks we also had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us in the room. Much like the room itself, the grounds are kept to an immaculate standard. The hotel is relatively small offering just over 60 rooms and it's dense, with foliage and flowers filling every conceivable space - this gives the impression of a real sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the busier parts of Samui. We loved the lagoon style pool where there was never a fight for a towel or lounger, there's no animation team (which personally I found a godsend), just a really chilled out vibe with no loud music. The pool itself is just a step or two away from the beach, where if you turn right you can walk straight to Fisherman's Village to save you having to walk along the road. We did this loads of times! Next to the pool is one restaurant and is where the included breakfast is served. We found that there was plentiful choice and all of a good quality, from chefs on hand to cook eggs, waffles, pancakes and noodles, to cereals, fruit, bread, cooked and cold meats, cheese, etc, with good tea and coffee. We never got sick of the choice like we have done at times with some all inclusives. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner - as with the area itself and for most hotels here, the cost of these meals is a touch on the high side. But again, there's no "need" to tie yourself to the hotel - you're in a great position to explore and is highly recommended. But if you do eat at the poolside restaurant, you'll eat good quality food for lunch and dinner. The other restaurant is for dinner only and has a Thai menu. As long stay guests we had one visit here for free - we ended up eating at this restaurant more than once, great Thai food in a beautiful location, beside a lit-up Lilly pond. Also on-site is the spa. As a couple we bought a 2.5hr session with pricing very much in keeping with what we'd pay at a high quality spa in the U.K. - so your feelings on spas in general will dictate whether you think that's expensive of not! The treatment included a private jacuzzi and steam room, then a scrub, followed by a full body massage. This was wonderful, we were treated expertly well and again with real courtesy and care - our only regret was that we didn't do this more than once! But as mentioned above what really makes this hotel is the quality of its staff - we'd like to name drop a few, namely Fon, Eak, Jang, Noi, Natty and Kung. There are many others but we didn't catch everyone's names! Never pushy, always smiling, always attentive. The quality of this hotel and it's staff has contributed to us falling in love with Samui itself and we're already working out when we can return!
Nice restaurant at the beach where you can also have your breakfast. Close to Fisherman's village for going out at night. Great massages at the spa. Great service and very clean. All in all very good value for money.
