We arrived late, and Dan turned on the lights and left the front door open for us. Then on our last evening there began a decadal snowfall; we called Dan and said we had to leave by 7 a.m. and could he please have the very long and uphill driveway plowed before then? Sure enough, he arrived with a crew at 6:30 and we left on time. Because the house was in perfect order, we had no need to contact him during our stay.
Christmas morning. We're not sure how Santa got in, but he did and found the tree thoughtfully provided by the owner...

The Treehouse is pure magic — it’s become our annual home away from home. Every year, my friends and I return for our much-anticipated getaway, and every time, it feels even more special. The house has everything we could possibly need — comfortably accommodating all eight of us — and the setting is absolutely breathtaking. Surrounded by stunning scenery and just minutes from town, it strikes the perfect balance between peaceful retreat and easy convenience. Very large, beautiful house. Impeccably decorated with antiques, knick-knacks, really nice stuff. Pool was closed when we stayed but looked great. The property Manager and host communicated lavishly and were a pleasure to deal with. The property Manager 9Dan) even found something we left and mailed it back to us. Very comfortable and easy to work with. Enthusiastically recommended!

What a magical property. We were in town for a wedding and this was a great getaway from the craziness of the wedding party. It has tremendous private areas for our guests to get away for privacy and the pool was a great gathering place. It did not feel like a rental home, it felt like the owner invited over to stay and they stepped away. It had history and was equipped to host a large gathering. We could help sharing the info on the house with people who lived in the area and are looking for a place to put guests, we can't say enough nice things! thanks again Dan and Lisa.

Staying at Treetops is the highlight of our year. My husband and I and our group of friends have been coming to Guilford for a few years now and it just feels like home. We love it and I can't recommend the property enough.

This is an amazing property that is great for groups. Plenty of sleeping places, great for a remote feeling getaway with town amenities still nearby, fun and quirky decorations, and plenty of gorgeous outdoor space. There is also a hiking trail just next door to the property. The property manager was also prompt and responsive, Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a gorgeous get away.

This property was perfect for our family gathering. Our teen granddaughters loved their private upper level, while their brother had a nifty off-the-beaten-path downstairs den. The pool was warm, clean and fabulous. Great kitchen. Comfortable beds for all. My 95 year old dad loved reading on the deck. Caretaker Daniel was terrific. Truly a top-notch stay.

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our extended family stay at this house! The house is summer unique and different. Plenty of room for the 10 of us. We loved spending time together grilling and swimming in the pool! Dan, the house manager, was great! Super friendly and helpful. We are excited to stay there again in the future!

Great spot for an adult group

This was a great spot to stay with friends, with great separate living areas and a great central living room to gather. The location is minutes from downtown Guilford and was very convenient to do and see everything. I would not recommend bringing small children because there is so much beautiful artwork all around the house, but it’s a beautiful retreat for older kids/teens and adults!

Hidden Gem in the Woods

We stayed at the treetops retreat for a long weekend and we can’t wait to go back. It’s everything you can ask for and more. Dan was a great host with amazing communication. My wife and I got married on Friday night and had a bbq there with family and friends on Sunday. Plenty of space for a large family gathering / reunion. The pool and fire pit were a great bonus! Oasis in the Woods

Very nice house with lovely outdoor pool area. Very well equipped kitchen and lots of room for entertaining. Short drive to Guilford Green and Docks with lots of restaurant choices. Property's manager was quick to respond and always happy to assist with any questions or requests. As noted in the listing, the train does pass by regularly, which is loud but short lived and not really an issue inside the house. We would definitely consider staying again when we’re back in the area to visit family.

It's the best

We are a close group of friends and this is our second stay at Treetops. It is truly an idyllic and wonderful place. The house is extraordinary. It's like staying in a museum! And the pool is incredible. Guilford is adorable and Madison is close by with beautiful beaches. I can't recommend staying here enough.

Wonderful family stay

We had a recent stay at Treetops during a family reunion and it was perfect. It fit a bunch of us and provided a beautiful space to relax. We had a few children in the group and we did make some clear rules at the start as the house is full of amazing artwork that was off limits for the kids. Dan was communicative and a great host. One last tip is that the trails behind the house could fill a whole day of exploring nature. We hope to stay again soon.

Peaceful retreat

Treetops is a gem! We celebrated our daughter’s graduation from Wesleyan and the cozy, green, beautiful space was welcoming, spacious and wonderfully decorated. It had plenty of room to gather and be together while allowing grandparents quiet nooks to retreat and regroup. Thank you.
