I have spent several hundred nights at this hotel last two years. Great hotel. I love Club Lounge with an outdoor space. Gym and pool are fantastic. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned. Water pressure is very comfortable... Staff are professional and extremely nice!!
We had a super stay! Great room, wonderful view. Very friendly, efficient staff. Good food in the in-house restaurants, lovely pool, gym etc. The hotel was very clean, well decorated and the location was central.
I stayed there from July 15 to 17. At first the receptionist did not recognize that I am a Platinum member, and I asked her to check the status. It is better to confirm at check-in. Then I was upgraded to Suite Room. Suite Room is more than 100 square meters large room. You can see the stadium, Sheraton pool, and skyscraper of Guangzhou. Bathing tub is located in front of window and you can see outside from the bath tub. The Sheraton Club lounge is located on 33rd, top floor. Mr. Legend Gong, Manager, helped us a lot, and gave us a good hospitality. We enjoyed Sushi and Australian Shiraz for dinner, and noodles and omelets for breakfast. The pool on the 9th floor is also excellent and very large. You can enjoy the scenery of Guangzhou from the pool side. The pool bar offers craft beer in the afternoon and night. I really loved and went to the pool two or three times a day. The hotel itself is located in very center of Guangzhou. Next to 体育西路 subway station, AEON, Japan brand supermarket, APM station, and 天河城 department store. You can take a direct subway train to the Airport starting from the subway station. You can also take APM to get to the Canton Tower. I really enjoyed and appreciated excellent hospitality and services at Yuehai Sheraton Guangzhou Hotel. I wanted to stay longer, and look forward to staying there again this year.
I really enjoy stayed in this hotel. All staff are so kind and very helpful for me whenever I need help from them. Breakfast is so nice! The breakfast have various types for people to choose and good taste.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel over the last weekend. I have previously stayed at this hotel many times and each time my experience has been outstanding. From check in at the reception to good room arrangements, and good courtesy and hospitality service at Executive Lounge lead by Legend Gong. When we departed, we were most impressed by Micky at the entrance of the hotel who was so kind to assist us to subway with an umbrella in the heavy rain. A special warm touch indeed.
Convenient location next to a big mall. Plenty of restaurants and the mall next day, or along the streets near by. Love the fact the subway is just near by. Rooms are standard Sheraton style, building is not new. Rooms are average, but meets my standard for a Sheraton. I always stay here for business.
I have stayed here for two night. Very nice experience. First the location is very nice. Just next to a shopping mall and a metro station, very convenient to travel around. The service is fantastic, very enthusiastic staffs, especially in the lounge. The room is very. We had a suite, it's big and made me fell that I'm home. The best is the outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, the decoration of the swimming pool is great! Looking forward to staying here again.
Location: perfect location This was the second time I stayed at Sheraton Guangzhou. Before confirmation of my booking, I did consider staying at another 5-star hotel for a change. But I really love the location of Sheraton Guangzhou. The Hotel is situated next to the metro station - Tiyu Xilu. This is in particular critical if you would like to travel different parts of Guangzhou. The traffic congestion in Guangzhou is not to be underestimated. To top it off, taxi drivers 'cherry pick' their customers. Their tactics? Taxi drivers will lock their car and ask you where to go. If taxi drivers think that it is worth going, they will quote a price for the distance. Yes, they don't use the meter. At night, many locals are stranded on the streets after the metro stops the service. There are a Japanese supermarket and a lot of shopping malls, local and international restaurants in the area which will suit every budget and taste. Room: The hotel room is well maintained although the last renovation was done a couple of years ago. WIFI: Perfect in the room, lobby & restaurants Staff: Most staff were helpful. While I asked Cherry, the front desk staff, about the information of some tourist attractions where I would like to go, she was very patient and helpful to answer every question I asked. The same thing happened to the restaurant staff I met in the Chinese restaurant. Some restaurant staff even went the extra mile. When they didn't know the place I asked, they would ask other colleagues to step in. That being said, I did have an extremely unpleasant encounter with a chef wearing black framed glasses and working at the hot buffet section in the morning. His name is Apple Lei. When I tried to order some soup noodle on the first day, I found a few customers waiting at the section. I had patiently waited for my turn. A man later came and jumped the queue, shouting for his order. Lei took his order without asking for mine although I had waited in front of him for quite some time. The only thing I could do was to politely tell him what I wanted for my noodle soup. A female customer then came for the noodle soup. Similar to me, she had patiently waited for her turn until another man jumped the queue. After the female customer placed her order with Lei, I wondered if any basket of noodles in the pot was for me. I asked Lei for confirmation. Well, he got me the wrong type of noodle and asked “Didn’t you ask for it?”. I also didn’t get my mushrooms until I had asked him for the third time. It was better for my veggies order as I only had to ask him twice. I saw Lei working at the noodle section the next morning again. I learnt from my previous experience. I told him what I wanted for my noodle soup although I was the only customer standing there and he had nothing to do at all. All of a sudden, Lei called out another chef and pointed his finger at me “This noodle is for her.” At first, I thought that he had to go somewhere else. To my surprise, Lei was not going anywhere. He was just whispering something in another’s chef ear who was standing next to him. That chef immediately burst into laughter and asked Lei “So, were you scared of her?” Lei just laughed back at his question. Another chef later gave me the soup noodle without asking me if I wanted it spicy or not. Still, I politely said thank you to that chef. I subsequently tried to get some eggs and found Lei moving to the egg section. I saw him cooking a few eggs on the stove and then walked away without asking me if I wanted to place any order. Lei went to another food section, chatting with a chef and leaving those eggs on the stove unattended. Didn’t he cause danger to customers by walking away from the stove without having it turned off for such a long time? I had stood there for about 3 minutes before Lei decided to come back to work at the stove. He still didn’t bother to ask for my order. Wow, I think that I could get a better service from a fast food restaurant. Further, unlike other hotel staff, the place Lei wore his name tag was far too low, I literally had to lean over the counter in order to see his name. This, I think, angered him a lot. He later asked other chefs to walk across my table, looking at me with a “strange” smile on the face. If the management is reading this post, I sincerely hope that you could provide Lei some training not only for cooking skills, but also customer service, workplace safety and work attitude. Food: The Chinese restaurant located on the third floor provided great and reasonably priced Chinese food. I went to the restaurant for dinner two days in a row. Buffet breakfast was good. The western restaurant provided an array of Chinese and western foods for customer selection. Don’t miss the freshly squeezed watermelon and apple juice. Areas of improvement? I found that the foods served at the hot buffet section were often placed with the wrong food name tag next to it. Some had no food name tag at all. For example, the name tag next to the sweet buns was glutinous rice chicken. This was NOT an isolated case as it happened every morning during my stay. It is a not big deal to me but it might cause some problems to customers who could not eat certain foods. Further, it only happened to the hot buffet section. I found the pastry chef really paid attention to the pastry section. One time I even saw him carefully aligning all the trays to the perfect position. Of course, he got all the food name tags right as well.
Just like Sheraton in many places, it is a great place to stay. Staff is very friendly. Room is large and very clean (I booked a premier room). The location is fatastic. Subway station is only 2 mins walking distance and there are shopping centers around the hotel. I really don't have anything negative about this Sheraton.
The hotel was beautiful and the lounge was nice but the chef seemed annoyed with us even though all I did was politely request a small bowl of noodles (exactly like I did at every other hotel.) I swear I smelled smoke which wasn't that great, but by now, I suppose it's "inevitable" since I have suffered it in so many places. They need to seriously do something about it. Enforce your smoking policies!!!!!!! Or at least make them known!! The cleaning staff was very nice and patient with my grandma and answered her every need. They helped immensely. The scissors my dad requested to open my sister's eye drop (she unfortunately contracted pink eye from the zhuhai Sheraton swimming pool) was gross. It has some sort of gunk on it and eyelash hair. While we had to waste time meticulously cleaning it to prevent further infection, she was crying from the pain and itch she suffered. The reading light next to the bed can change brightness, but it was annoying at first because each time I pressed it, it wouldn't turn off. They need to label that function. Our room was spacious, well-designed, and offered a nice view of the rooftop heated swimming pool complete with a poolside bar and get this: a playground! The lobby lacked couches to sit on. There was a tea area in the lobby that was separated by nothing. It was empty. So we sat down in a few chairs to wait for our ride. We weren't allowed to sit there. So we had to stand. The lobby isn't small. It just uses all that space for a few giant flowerpots in the middle of the room. I'm all for flowers and green decor, but there is definitely space for more couches. The few uncomfortable benches on the left of the lobby are always filled up. Otherwise, great hotel!
