The hotel room and hallway had an awful muggy odor that made my lungs hurt. I would not recommend staying at this hotel as there are better options. The images are very misleading and it is overpriced. You are much better off staying at the Grand Mercure across the street.

Old, not clean, air-con noisy, bad smell

The 1st room we stayed is with bad smell, the air-con is noisy and the telephone is not working. We complained to front desk and they changed another room for us. But unfortunately the 2nd room is more worst than the 1st one : the room is very old, not clean, still with bad smell, the air-con is noisy and not cool enough. We have the breakfast at the cafe on 61th floor, the table was not tidy up and the tableware were dirty. We may not stay again next time.

Good location but Aircon was terrible

Aircon is terrible, tv needed fixing before use. Breakfast was mostly Chinese food. The room is big but bed was too soft. Outside corridor have a weird smell. Elevator smells like food. It’s my second time in this hotel. The first time was not like this. I hope they improve since location is really good and the rooms are huge.

Nice Hotel but not clean

This Hotel has a great location and view with it being centered in the middle of so many shops and restaurants. However, the room that I was given was not up to 4-5 star status. There were huge stains on the carpet, peeling wall paper on the walls as well as peeling upholstery on the headboard of the bed. Some of the decorative pillows also had large stains.

Cost-cutting hotel

The hotel was much better when it was under Sofitel group. Now it's abit rundown although the facilities are still in place. My room had carpet stains, and the bed's headboard leather is peeling. Sofitel used to give complimentary fruit baskets with every stay, under mels Weldon they no longer do so. Also, don't bother buying their buffet breakfast, the selection is quite sad. The hotel also recently cut out their English movie channels in a cost-saving bid. All these really makes a long staying customer seriously think of switching

A very good choice. Strongly recommend.

Clean, quiet spacious room. Shopping area the hotel convenient to go around. After 7.30pm is bit quiet around the hotel.

The worst customer service at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Hotel is in fair condition with old and worn areas at every turn. The hotel also smelled like a giant air freshner that was much too strong. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

very modern luxury hotel but not to clean

the stay overall was just ok more for local people than a business traveller the best was the position although for a reasonable new modern luxury hotel the cleanliness was way below standard.Needs to get staff that now a little bit of english definately there is no english. food a wide variety but more Chinese and the quality not so good, comfort of the room was ok although the cleaning for such a nice hotel should have been much better

Nice newer hotel with lack of service.

The hotel itself is new and nice. The hotel staff is not knowledgeable. They don't even honor their respective website. I paid for the one bedroom suite and it states clearly that it comes with lounge acess. The staff told me they never heard about lounge. I show them on my phone, but unfortunately they don't read English. They told me the manager will get back to me the next day, then I was told he will be back in 3 days. Who has time to wait for 3 days when the question needs to be handle now. Nobody is there to help you with any service.

If I will to go for golf trip it is not so good.

Everything around is satisfactory, except that the lift is not that friendly. If you want to go out you need to change lift. There is no direct lift.

One of the better hotels in Humen

This hotel is still quite new and the amenities are geared towards Westerners. The area around the hotel is a little dodgy but the hotel itself is great. Lobby is on the 10th floor. Staff is polite and check-in was quick. When I got there, there were no non-smoking room anymore and the person decided to upgrade my room which still met the non-smoking requirement. The room was very nice and large. Even though it was an upgrade, there were little details that still set this hotel apart from the truly high end hotels. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked, the shower door did not close fully allowing water to creep onto the bathroom floor, needed a more thorough vacuum and the remote has little battery left. The internet was a little spotty but this is always the case in China because of the filter the government puts on so speed suffers. Otherwise the room was better than expected. The area around the hotel is ok during the day but a little dodgy at night. There is also a stinky river closeby but you cannot smell it until you are close to it (walking).

Nice hotel close to shopping

I love the location of this hotel. You can shop till you drop. It's our last stop in China, so we buy a lots of things, then off load in our hotel room and continue shopping. The prices are great! We take Ferry to Hong Kong which is about 5 min Taxi ride from the hotel. We can check in our luggage for our flight from Hong Kong to US before get on the ferry. Best of all, there is no line to wait!

Room too hot

The is the former Sofitel. The hotel is quite beautiful, but incongruous at 60 floors in this city. My room smelt of disinfectant or some horrible air freshener. I could not figure out the twin air conditioning controls and neither could 3-4 people sent up to help. The result was that my room was too hot and the air conditioner kept on going on and off all night long for no apparent reason. It did not cool the room. The room itself was quite large and very nice. Beautiful bathroom. The hotel was pretty empty it seemed. My business partner and I were the only ones at breakfast on the 60th floor at 7:00AM. I can't explain it, but the hotel gave me really bad vibes. Would not stay here again even though there are not many decent choices in Humen.
