I had requested a Jr. King Suite and put me in a matramonie room which was a double bed only room for one person next day moved to the Jr. King Site and when I turned the faucet in the bathroom the knob came off and water went shooting up. Rooms are hot no a/c just floor fans. Breakfast included but limited to a few things on the menu. Our room was right near the garden and it was the festival of the cervantine and it was so noisey that we couldn't sleep till around 4am due to all the music. Very loud and disruptive. Not happy with the hotel, location good if your staying only 1-2 nites. Also no safe in the room.
I stay in this hotel for 6 days in September 2019, the location is great you will be at walking distance of almost everything.. however there is a couple of thing that this hotel can improve.. number one their beds are horrible.. super hard and will definitely keep waking you up... get better mattress or pads please.. number two.. no air conditioner.. they got a dehumidifier instead that does not cool all the room and keeps leaking water.. and number three well that one is easy fix by choosing a room in the back of the hotel away from the noise.. also this hotel has no parking.. the breakfast that is included with the stay is very good.. in all this place can improved a lot but for the price is totally worth it.
I love the location of this hotel. It’s in the heart of Guanajuato city. Everyone of the hotel is really friendly and I loved how anything that I needed it’s within walking distance. The only thing I didn’t like was that my room had no windows and the shower head looked old and rusty. Other then that everything was great.
My wife and I stayed at the Luna for four nights. The hotel is in a great location. It is very close to everything...bars, restaurants, theatre, basilica etc. The hotel has a nice lobby, bar and its own restaurant. What we liked: The room had a balcony looking at a quiet Callejón.The room was nice, clean with lots of character Portable AC Breakfast was served in the restaurant. They did offer choices and refills on coffee Helpful and polite staff Few things to note: Cars do not stop directly in front of the hotel. Taxis will drop you off behind the theatre. You might have to carry your luggage from your drop off point to the hotel. It didn’t bother is but it might be a concern for others. There is no elevator. Again, staff helped us with the suitcases. Not a big issue. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We would come back to the Luna.
Excellent hotel. I would give it five stars if the bed wasn’t so hard. It needs a mattress pad. The room is comfortable and quiet, even during the fiesta in the plaza. The staff is very accommodating. The restaurant is also excellent. The breakfast with the room offers a very good selection. The location is perfect for sightseeing.
A group of 40 spent 5 nights at the Luna. We traveled daily, to San Miguel, Dolores-Hidalgo and Leon as well as a walking tour of Guanajuato. So when we got our room night one the bands had already begun to play. Our room was inside not facing the street, with only a very small window in the bath, therefore we did not experience the LOUD music that goes each night till 3 am. That room was excellent, bed hard as a rock, but we were so tired we did not care. The breakfast was good. WiFi was ify but in the lobby excellent reception.
I stopped by the outside cafe. Watched a band play for a while, very good indeed. Ordered a snack of Luna nachos and the portion was huge. The steak was very tender and tasty. The service was okay but slow. A couple of bands in costumes dropped in.
Had a lovely, traditional room overlooking the plaza. Big mistake. The people enjoy their social time - loud music of competing musicians until 3 AM. Hotel confirmed the next day that this happens every night. Interior rooms have windows that open on to common areas, halls or stairwell, which questions security as well as noise and no ventilation. Would also mention that the beds were very hard and not comfortable.
So sad. This place could be fixed up if someone cared. The carnations in the lobby were dead when we arrived and still in their little vase 3 days later. I paid an additional 100 pesos to be in an exterior room. It was a good decision until 2 am the hotel had a construction crew drilling and hammering with spot lights shining on our terrace until 3:30am. The staff was oblivious to the problem and would not help. The workers were installing a light directly below our room. Do not stay here. You have been warned.
The hotel is in the perfect location, BUT the room was so small that a you literally had to turn sideways to get in the bathroom. The room was in poor repair with the lamp hanging off of the wall and you had to hit it 3 times to get it to come on. The linen was paper thin as were the towels Food was very plain and we didn't bother to eat other meals there because breakfast was so bland. Now for the worst part ... the noise!! Our room overlooked the plaza and it was so noisy we were awake all night! Horrible! If the windows closed properly (which they didn't) it would have still be awful. Never again!!
