Lorne Hotel Glasgow4.0 out of 5.0

3 night stop at the Lorne and I always managed to park adjacent to the hotel so no issues there, good wi fi and not a bad sized room with a decent shower. Room only at £70.00 I felt was a little steep given the size of room and the view! Staff were very keen to help and no complaints at all about the one meal I ate whilst staying there
My husband and I have previously been to the Lorne Hotel for drinks in the bar or to eat in Bukhara (great Indian restaurant, lots of choice, esp fish dishes) before our concerts but this time we came to celebrate my birthday and visited the Birdtree & Bellfish eaterie and the Kelvin Bar as they are a new(ish) additions to the Lorne, and we weren't disappointed. My Irn Bru fish supper was lovely and the chicken Balmoral very tasty. Will be back to try the starters which looked amazing. The hubby was so happy to have a pint of Schiehallion while I enjoyed my Parma Violet cocktail from the Bilberrry Bar. Staff were so nice and attentive. Yes, we'll definitely return for more of the same
Solo visit to the Lorne hotel to catch up with friends in the city. Hotel was very accommodating with friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make my stay more comfortable. Room exceeded my expectations and was incredibly comfortable. Bar & restaurant were superb and again staff were excellent. I really recommend this hotel for a excellent value for money accommodation that provides excellent distance between the bustling city centre and charming west end.
Enjoyed a one night stay at the Lorne, staff were welcoming and friendly, rooms and service was excellent. Hotel is in prime west end location close to city centre ,SECC, museum and university. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on doorstep suit all tastes. Would highly recommend the Lorne Hotel.
Fabulous experience at Glasgow's Lorne Hotel, well fitted out and comfortable rooms, food was A1 and all the staff team couldn't do more to be helpful and cheery. Will be back! Well situated for Glasgow's West End, the surrounding and attractive Finneston eateries and bars and walking distance to the City Centre.
Dropped into meet a client for a quick meeting and drink earlier this week, great location, awesome staff, really welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Definitely be back for a fun visit when I can stay longer and try out the Indian restaurant.
Loved this hotel until the morning. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the cocktail bar was reasonably priced. Stayed here due to the location and had so many bars on our doorstep, which at first made us prefer this to the West End Hilton. However would not stay here again as breakfast was revolting - seriously. Limited choice of over-warmed cheapness. Shame
We wanted a room for a one night stay in the city. We asked for an upgrade on the booking.com standard room and it was not a problem. They gave us an executive room which was nice. Very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and huge, the bathroom was modern and clean, shower was walk in and very good. All in all hotel was good and worth the money. We would stay here again. We never ate here although it has 2 lovely restaurants. Having read the previous reviews some people have bad things to say, I am usually a complainer but the only faults I saw were in the corridors probably folks clattering cases around and the lift mirror was dirty....the room was all it said on the website.
We were here for a wedding and stayed for 2 nights. The best part of the hotel is the cocktail bar, but was disappointed that on the Friday night, despite the fact that there were more than 50 people in the bar, that we were told it was to close at 12.30am. This was followed the following night, where despite being told that this is where people would come back to after the event, there was a single member of staff (bar and reception) catering for ~100 people. The service was, on that basis, understandably below par. The room itself was grubby - grubby net curtains and stains on the carpet seemed just a bit tired. The shower had very little pressure and on both mornings, there was little to no hot water, which was not the most pleasant experience. And the bed was definitely on the small side, although not uncomfortable. We asked for an iron and had to spend nearly 20 minutes ironing a shirt - the board was bumpy and the iron leaked. Any movement of the lift was heard in the room. To add to the experience, our experience of paying our bill left a lot to be desired. We left the hotel to be told there was nothing further to do. I subsequently received a call saying that I hadn't paid and could I please complete an authorisation. I asked to see the invoice before I did so. Upon receipt of this, I authorised my card payment. I have now just seen that the amount taken from my card does not match the invoice sent to me. I had a lovely weekend celebrating the wedding, but would have stayed somewhere else if I could have repeated the experience.
Stayed for a couple of nights here recently. Good sized room and clean and comfortable. Heated towel rail didn't work and the shower head would not stay up but kept sliding down (Room 325). Good location with lots of good restaurants close by. Ok place to stay if in Glasgow for a short visit.
