All was fine, I would use again. Roo slightly tired, some wear to furnishings, screw covers on toilet seat hinges missing, tissue holder in bathroom, but no tissues. Nowhere in bathroom to lay toilet bag or toiletries. Bed comfy, room quiet. Need to use on street parking, so out before 8 to buy a parking ticket.
Attended a family function. Comfortable function room. Buffet meal all lovely tasting and plentiful. Good facilities. Had cocktails (gin flights are great) and drinks in the Kelvin bar, lovely comfortable surroundings with good atmosphere. Great location for hydro etc. Did not use hotel itself but would certainly consider this when next in town for a concert etc. All staff very pleasant and attentive. Will return. Janice G
Trip was business for my Fiancee and pleasure for me. I had read a couple of bad reviews before we arrived, however I am pleased to say our experience was pleasurable. The room was very clean with tea and coffee facilities. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The in house restaurant Bukharah was fab. The close proximity to City centre for shopping was good. We would definately stay here again as the Classic double room rate was brilliant.
After reading some reviews we were a bit dubious about staying here. No need to worry at all. Check in and check out were no problem at all. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bar area downstairs is lovely and light. For £80.10 per night you can’t complain
Stayed here for 2 nights as was attending a conference at the SEC. It has quite a boutique fell about it. The hotel is in a great spot with lots of great bars and restaurants nearby and within walking distance to the SEC. The hotel has 2 great restaurants and a bar on site. My room was a bit difficult to find as the signage wasn't great, but once I found it I was pleased with the look and feel. The bed was comfy and the room was modern. The front of house staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great stay. I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed 1 night £80. no breakfast. Room was ok but it got far, far worse. TV stuck on one channel & volume control would not work. Remote control taped up with tape , tv was fixed , eventually. Kettle , when poured sprayed water all over the table & everything that was on it. Key card for room never let us into the room so we had to constantly go back to reception for another card. On one occasion the receptionist came to the room to reset the lock & her machine was also wrapped up with tape. They like tape at the Lorne , We needed a few more milk portions & I asked for them at reception, unfortunately they were like yoghurt, when I checked them they were 5 months out of date, another trip down to reception & the girl there said they must have been put in the cupboard for throwing away ! Did no one look in that cupboard for the last 5 months ? On return to the room after a meal out we were unable to get into the room with the key card , again. Another trip down to reception & we were offered another room which was large . No glasses provided & a badly broken toilet seat- well that just about sums the Lorne up. All top show, no maintainence, shabby. We will never stay there again.only one lift working it's faster using the stairs.
Having booked a room for our anniversary I was looking forward to our stay in Glasgow . From the minute we walked into our room my heart sank !!! The wallpaper was falling off the walls , of the eight tiles on the bathroom floor four where broken . Our room deal included a bottle of wine . When it arrived ( hours later ) the boy who brought it stood with the bottle of wine in one hand and two glasses in the other , okay no ice which I'd asked for on arrival but worst of all we had two odd glasses , one clearly picked up from lying at the bar had lipstick around the rim plus the dregs of someone else's red wine !!!! Disgusted I mentioned at desk only to be told 'yes that's really bad " no apology whatsoever !!! So it wasn't such a happy anniversary at the Lorne hotel for us . Mega disappointed with our whole visit .
We stayed here for two night, staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have bf but were offered it for Extra£10 which I thought was reasonable. My only complaint was the mattress was like a brick very hard which made it difficult to sleep comfortably and for that reason we wouldn't stay again.
Staff are nice, breakfast was good and normally this hotel is a good option for an overnight stay in Glasgow to see a band or meet up with friends but this time it so wasn’t. The lift didn’t work, the floor in the breakfast area was filthy (wood floors wood be expected to be swept if not mopped before letting customers in), but worst of all was the highly uncomfortable bed, which left my wife in pain for the rest of the day.
Very modern hotel. My room was comfortable and had free WiFi and a desk for work. Bathroom looked a bit dated and could do with a refurb. For a one night stay it was fine. The breakfast was very food and arrived soon after ordering. Reception staff were all very helpful. Parking is probably the only issue in this area. I would use it again if on business in this area.
