Great big lovely clean room! Everything you need is at hand! Comfy bed and pillows! One mark knocked off as the breakfast was a bit of a mare as everyone must have come down at once so there was a shortage of clean tables, cutlery, plates and mugs! Extra staff came in and after 15 mins normality resumed! Food eventually was lovely! Great position for shops and a 10 min walk to Barrowlands made the whole trip great! Great staff!
Good management and service, as in usual Holiday inn. Rooms are clean, staff is polite and opened to help. Good location-riverside! Is near the oldest Scottish pub and Glasgow cathedral! Lovely place. But one disadvantage - my room was the last in the corridor and that's why was too cold inside. Hearing system wasn't effective. So, may be in other rooms were warmer.
Not the easiest place to find due to the 'one way' system that operates around it however there is a large open NCP car park within a 3 minute walk that we parked in and by chance the hotel has an arrangement with. The car park works on number plate recognition and you pay on-line or at a meter however the hotel does all this for you....great!! Hotel is modern and check-in was quick and efficient and the room was warm, clean and comfortable. There is a Sainsbury Local within 5 minutes walk. A microwave is provided in the lift lobby and so we could make hot chocolate....bonus!! As an IHG member we didn't need to check out until 2pm so had a chance to look around Glasgow in the morning. Pleasant river walk only 5 minutes away. Will certainly use again.
On balance, this was good value for money and I can find very few faults! I arrived very late however my check in was quick and problem-free. Staff were patient and polite. That’s always good. The parking charge was a bit steep (£8 for the night) but at least my car was close at hand. The room was spacious and clean with modern decor. It was also quiet so I had a good night’s sleep on a good mattress. All in all, I had a very pleasant, comfortable overnight stay. Perhaps the quality of breakfast foods could have been a bit higher but I got a free newspaper - so that seemed to even things out! Very satisfactory!
The room was the standard for this chain; it was enough for one night. The breakfast was not so good; it did not had a lot of choices of bread. His focus was the Scottish breakfast. Tha advantage for this hotel is that it was near the Glasgow airport
Functional building very close to city center. No parking (which originally was the reason for booking!) but a cooperation with a public parking lot next door. The receptionist was very nice and helpful (and funny) as was the receptionist the next morning while checking out. The night was rather unruly – the room was to the back so no traffic noise. But we had a group of young people on our floor, the doors don’t isolate too well and there was a constant coming and going and shouting and slamming of doors. It felt like a youth hostel. The breakfast is nothing to write home about. No sliced cheese, ham etc. Scrambled eggs must have come out of a container. Not enough plates and bowls – it took a long time to replace dishes. Very unfriendly personnel. Had we known we would have preferred breakfast somewhere around the corner in a Glasgow café. Don’t bother. Problem as in all rooms in Scotland: not enough or no outlets to load our smartphones, camera and electrical toothbrush. If at all, one outlet at one beside. Luckily, I had brought a converter plus an adapter for 3 jacks. In this day and age more is required. Wifi worked.
I stayed here a few times for business. This was my hotel of preference when coming to work in Glasgow. The location is superb, you can walk to the city center easily and the area is very close to supermarkets and restaurant. The hotel is really nice on the inside, rooms are compact and new. This one was the newest Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in. Even breakfast had a lot more things tgan the usual Holiday Inn Express. Staff is really nice and accommodating. Platinum members (such as myself) get a complimentary daily newspaper and a little treat, which I find a nice touch particularly because none of the other Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in ever did that. Highly recommended if you go in Glasgow, whether it's for leisure or business.
Stayed for three nights, I use the brand a lot and have a platinum card. Initially only one of the lifts was working, hotel has five floors and I was on the fifth! This was repaired by my last evening. The room was fine, comfy bed and usual HI Express bathroom, well fitted if a little small. Breakfast was fine, I never drink their coffee as it is usually dire, however the small choice of cooked breakfast and cold cuts, as well as cereal was fine. The staff were helpful.
I stayed here with my husband for 3 days as a break away for my husbands birthday. We had a great time. Good location for local places and picked the hop on hop off bus just up the street. Great way to get around all the sights. The Scotia Bar practically next door. Lovely atmosphere and good music. The hotel is lovely. Nice room and comfy bed. Nice breakfast too. The staff were all lovely especially David who served our evening meal which was really nice and Kirsty who we saw and spoke to everyday we were there and was very helpful and friendly. I cant recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be back in the future. Love this hotel and love Glasgow.
Enjoyed this hotel! Great staff. Very kind and accommodating. Even opened their breakfast area 60 minutes early at 5:30am for our early morning departure. Conveniently located to shopping and transportation. Large, clean bathrooms. Safe and comfortable.
