Tranquil Getaway, Gravenhurst Muskoka

Looking for a peaceful escape to relax, unplug and unwind? Check out our newly renovated Lakeside Loft located on Reay Lake just outside of Gravenhurst in Muskoka. A wonderful place for a quiet romantic retreat for a couple, or a retreat for yourself! (Maximum 2 adults - minimum age 30).

Reay Lake is a lovely, quiet small non-motorized lake. It is perfect for relaxing lakeside without the worry or noise of motor boats and jet skis! Enjoy lakeside views, perennial garden views, nightly sunsets, private swim deck with 2 chaise lounges to relax, and your own fire pit for cozy evenings.
We are less than a two hour drive from the GTA . Gravenhurst is known as the gateway to Muskoka!

The Loft:
Upstairs
In this two level loft suite, upstairs you'll find a large open concept living/sleeping area complete with comfy beds (one queen bed and two twin beds). Bedding is provided. The living room has a sofa and chairs, DVD player & movies, Bluetooth speakers, satellite TV, electric fireplace, and a desk.

Downstairs
On the main level you'll find a new eat in kitchen and a 3 piece bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a new refrigerator, convection/air fryer/toaster oven, induction cooktop stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, blender, dining table and chairs, and a BBQ outside. (Please note although we offer many cooking options in the kitchen, it does not have a traditional oven).
We have a state of the art water filtration system and the water is fully drinkable right from the tap. Bath towels are provided.
The Muskoka area is prone to power outages, but this property has a generator, which means you won't be left in the dark!!

The Lake & outdoor areas:
This small tranquil Lake is spring fed and offers wonderful swimming and fishing. Paddle or leisurely float around the lake. We have a small deck at waters edge with a couple of lounge chairs to relax. Swimming is off to the side of the deck and we have a floating raft you are welcome to enjoy.
On the way down to the Lake is the fire pit area. There is a small deck with chairs to enjoy a cozy evening by the fire. Firewood and kindling provided.

The Area
We are approximately a10 minute drive to Gravenhurst, 15 mins to Bracebridge, 35 mins to Bala and 45 minutes to Port Carling.

Enjoy all that Muskoka has to offer; swimming, boating , hiking, biking, fishing, nearby golf courses, farmers markets & festivals great dining, shopping, historic sightseeing boat cruises at the Muskoka Wharf, The Gravenhurst Opera House, Santa's Village, ice cream shops, local winery, and local breweries. The only Muskoka Drive-In movie theatre is just a 5 minute drive down the road!

Some important things to note:
While we do offer complimentary WIFI, we are in a rural area and internet and cellular service can be slow and/ or inconsistent. Good time to relax, unplug and enjoy nature!

Owners live in adjacent house on the property - if you forgot/need anything please just ask!

We recently renovated the space above and behind our two car garage to create our cozy Lakeside Loft.

Two reserved outdoor parking spots in driveway to use

Loft Rental includes use of "party island", swimming noodles and life jackets. There are 2 kayaks also available to use .
This a quiet lake with year round residents & we ask that you please respect our neighbours. If you are looking for a place to have loud parties , this is not your place.

Guests must adhere to the current outdoor fire regulations in the area

Wonderful!

Nancy and Greg have turned the loft above the garage into a cozy getaway with all the comforts of home. The beds are comfy. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking any meal. They were responsive to all our questions and needs. If you are wanting some peace and tranquility, I would highly recommend this lakeside loft.

A piece o’ heaven

Absolutely lovely. Tranquil. Zen. Nature’s paradise. If you enjoy “cottaging” with all the comforts and amenities of home, you must visit this piece o’heaven. We had a wonderful experience! Our hosts were so amazing-lovely people actually-ultra organized, attentive, incredibly accommodating, eager to help and offer up anything they could provide or do just to make our stay perfect! Check out their property description and their list of amenities. It’s all in black and white and they delivered in colour! Lots of little extras and details that many hosts just can’t be bothered with. Very clean, renovated and ultra equipped cottage loft. Our hosts were super easy to reach and quick to respond. Anything you might need or want on a cottage stay was there to enjoy. We had a stress free and thoroughly enjoyable vaca. Can’t wait to visit again!

Amazing stay!

We had a lovely stay on Reay Lake! So fun and rejuvenating to embrace the lake life - beautiful dock to have your morning coffee, take a swim from and relax on. Greg and Nancy are kind, generous hosts. The loft is super comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed having frequent bbqs and s’mores on the fire. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect cottage getaway!

This cottage is the perfect place for a calming retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The lake is small and calm with only a few other properties surrounding it. The unit is fully stocked and kept very clean and tidy. Nancy and Greg were great hosts, and very generous at doing everything they could to make sure our stay was amazing. We will definitely be back in the future!

Beautiful spot

Nancy and Greg have made a beautiful loft on their peaceful property. This was the first time booking through VRBO and we were thrilled with the accommodation. The hosts are a very sweet couple, very friendly and thoughtful, they left us a check-in gift of two cans of beer from Muskoka Brewery and a chocolate bar. The loft was stocked with everything you could possibly need not only in the kitchen but for your comfort for sleeping as well.( I had noticed a whitenoise machine in the one beside table) We throughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely rebook in the future. A piece of total relaxation

We were looking for a quiet place to unwind and relax. This property was everything we needed. With fantastic hosts and a beautiful small lake, the days and sunsets were nature at its best. Nancy and Greg were there if anything was needed along with great suggestions for things in the area. Close to two small towns with plenty to offer for daytrips. A wonderful market close by to purchase lots of fresh foods and gifts. We came home totally relaxed and recharged.

Loved our stay!

Greg and Nancy are great hosts and the property is lovely. The loft was very clean and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Greg and Nancy have thought of every little detail to ensure the comfort of their guests and gave us a tour when we checked in. They even have a record player with great 80s records, playing cards, DVDs, etc. I would definitely recommend this property for a couples getaway or with kids.

Fantastic getaway

I can't say enough good things about the our stay in the Loft at Lake. the cottage is renovated, impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Everything was thoughtfully prepared for our comfort - bedding, kitchen, towels - even marshmallows set was provided for our evenings at bonfire :). We got a very warm welcome from Nancy and Greg and they were very kind and willing to accommodate us at best. The cottage has a private space to the lake and you can enjoy an amazing sunset over the lake. The lake is clean and warm, the pine forest gave so much fresh air! I found that everything was better than in was advertised. Definitely will go back again. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay Nancy and Greg!

It was a dream!

I had the best time at the Lakeside Loft...I didn't want to leave! It far surpassed my expectations. Nancy and Greg are the most gracious hosts and paid attention to every detail. The loft is so comfortable and clean and has everything you need. Amazing swimming off of your own dock and I loved having my own private fire pit (and stocked wood shed!) It was the perfect little solo getaway and I can't wait to go back!

Relaxing beautiful place

We had a great time staying at this beautiful place. (Wish we stayed one more day😊) Loft is very cozy, comfortable and clean. Lots of space to move around for family of 4. Outdoor space is great so quite and calm. Its exactly what we needed in our busy life😊 Nancy and Greg are excellent host. kind, accommodating and approachable. they make sure we got what we needed. Beautiful Location

This property was beautiful- we went with our two girls who are 3 and 6 years old. They had a great time playing upstairs in the loft, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you’d need to feel right at home. The cottage was clean and very organized. Even had air conditioning so the upstairs didn’t get too hot! Perfect fire pit for roasting s’mores and the small dock and sand area was great for the kids to play and cool off. The location is local where everything in town is 15 minutes. Easy drive & both Grey & Nancy are super welcoming and helpful!

An amazing place to stay !

My husband and I and our 10 year old son thoroughly enjoyed our time at lakeside loft. The property and the space is beautiful and looked even better than the pictures! It was very clean and had everything we needed for our vacation. Nancy and Greg were wonderful hosts, easy to deal with and very prompt/ attentive to our requests. The beds were comfy, the swimming and the kayaking was excellent! And no motor boats! We enjoyed the lake, the area and our nightly bonfires. We did find the WiFi a little slow and phone sometimes spotty depending where you were, but we knew that going in from your description and it was totally fine. Thanks so much, we’ll be back!
