It's one of the greatest hotels i've been. Excellent placement, nice garden near the lake, like few meters 'near'. The staff is the most helpful and polite I've ever met, even the cleaning lady smiles and greets you. Good breakfast, lots to choose from and the staff serves you any type of coffee. Gravedona is a nice resort, not much to do though. Careful driving to Como trough the narrow streets. Only thing they could improve maybe, the pillows , too hard for my taste.
What a glorious overnight stay...we had a wonderful lake view, from our room and an easy promenade to the village for lunch and a coffee...stunning....a short drive to Domaso for dinner ...delicious seafood and then a well prepared breakfast, in the breakfast room...oh my!!! The selection of breakfast foods ranged from fruit, yoghurt, bread, rolls, spreads such as jams and Nutella and the cheese...plus scrambled eggs and meats, and a cold selection of bococcini , wurst and tomatoes....the coffee was delicious.....we will be coming again....
Had a 4 night stay here in early July 2016 and while I don’t normally pay extra for a room with a view I did here as the photos I had seen online showed the most amazing views and I was not disappointed with them. The hotel is in a good position about a 10 minute walk down the hill to an area with bars and cafes but a bit of a hike on the way back. My room 103 was a single room and the great thing about a lot of hotels in Italy is they have smaller single rooms at a lower price which is also the bad thing as they are often a lot smaller and this one was on the small side and also an odd shape being on the end of the building but it had just about enough space and was clean and comfortable, my only real complaint was that there was no air-conditioning but I knew that before I booked but it was really hot when I was there . The view from my balcony was magnificent looking over the pool and out to the lake and the shore opposite as well as south along the shoreline to the town. The pool was very welcome given the heatwave they were having at the time and there was also a small stone beach on the lake. Breakfast was included in my rate and was of good quality with enough variety. The hotel also had free parking and they seemed to have just enough spots when I was there but the parking is on a very steep slope. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and the magnificent view and I would stay here again if in the area.
Our room had an absolutely fantastic balcony and view of the beautiful lake. It was big enough for the 4 of us (another couple) to enjoy a lunch of have charcuterie and Brunnello while admiring the view. It's a quick walk, 10 or so minutes, into town where there's a grocery store, ferry stop and many restaurants to choose from. The hotel helped us arrange a taxi to a father away restaurant one night and were available for anything we needed. The beginning of October was too cold for the pool but our stay was magical anyway!
beautifully located hotel offering romantic views of Lake Como. Comfortable and nice, clean rooms and very friendly staff. Easily accessible by car from Bergamo. Good breakfast and a good restaurant on site. My Recommendation!!!
Very good hotel right in the lake of Como. Clean rooms, friendly staff and descent breakfast. Don't expect anything fancy or super chic, but if you don't have those aspirations, this hotel might be a good choice. Rooms are big, we took a 3 beds and managed to accomodate our 3 kids.
Have returned to this hotel many times, it's at top of Lake Como with the most wonderful view down the lake. Each side of lake has forestry and it changes throughout the day. Although only B&B It's approximately fifteen minutes to the town of Gravedona which is small but has various nice restaurants and bars. The ferry comes up frequently in season and stops all the way down to Como. The nicest way to travel. I might regret posting this hotel as it gets booked up very quickly. Glenda F
We visited as a couple from 26th Sept for 4 nights. We hired a car and drove easily from Bergamo taking just under two hours. The hotel was easy to find and well signposted from the main road. There was ample parking and a friendly hassle free welcome from reception. We were shown to our room on the second floor with a lake view and balcony. The sun was just setting over the mountains above the lake and the sight was truly breathtaking and worthy of the bucket list tick which we were hoping for. The room was newly decorated with a large double bed and ample hanging and storage space. The room had a mini fridge and safe. Bathroom was on the small side and was clean and had a good step in shower but no bath. The balcony had chairs and a table and there were plants in pots to provide privacy with the next door balcony. There was no air con in the room but there was a ceiling fan which we had on over night. The hotel is situated right on the lake and all rooms at the front have a lake view. The rooms at the front also are away from the road and have less noise from the traffic. The hotel was spotlessly clean with tiled floors and pastel colours, it had a lovely calm and quiet relaxed atmosphere about the place which seemed to mirror the setting and gentle lapping of the lakes waves a few metres away. Wi Fi was not the best, but we were there for the view and not to spend time online. Breakfast was a really good spread with fresh pastries, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. There was also a hot selection of eggs and bacon. We ate on the large veranda outside and the staff serving could not have been nicer or friendlier, even when another guest tried to make tomatoes on toast in the toaster!!! Gravedona is quiter than other places on the lake but the road outside the hotel can get very busy. The town is a short 10 minute walk away and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pizzerias. The Gelatta cafe on the harbour front is great. We walked into the hills from the hotel and there are some really stunning hikes around the area. When we were there the weather was lovely and sunny and in the low 20's. My wife and I swam in the pool and lake everyday. The pool is not heated and I can image gets a bit crowded in peak season. However the lake was great to plunge into and swim for as far as you like. Take shoes to walk across the short shingle beach, although the hotel provide flip flops in the room which was a nice touch. No pool towels so we used the room towels as we did not take our own due to low cost flight bag restrictions. The bar in the hotel serves drinks throughout the day and light snacks in the evening. Very friendly staff again but sometimes with two hats on- either receptionist or bar person, so if you need either at the same time you may have to wait a bit. Drinks were very reasonable and much cheaper than the hotels and bars in Bellagio. There are no evening meals served in the hotel, so we walked into town each evening. There are two supermarkets a short walk away if required to stock up on snacks etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a little less hustle and bustle than other places on lake Como, the ferry goes from the village harbour and is serviced by either the slow scenic ferry (Bellagio 1.5hrs) or the fast hydrofoil ferry (Bellagio 35mins). The hotel staff can let you know the times and there is a good tourist information office in town. I feel this it would be a shame if this hotel was taken over by a international chain as part of its charm is the family run atmosphere with attention to service with a smile, rather than service with a price. The most stunning aspect of the hotel was the view of the lake and the mountains from the rooms and the varanda and there was nothing finer than watching the sun set with a chilled glass of prosecco in the evening. We shall be back.
Spend a few days in this northern town of Lake Como district away from the tourist hustle. Fortunate enough to have a room in the center of the building that had a magnificent view of the lake right out of the balcony. Even in June, the weather was a bit cooler than expected so keeping the window open made our evening temperature just perfect. The pool is not heated and we could only dip in for a short period of time at a time due to the outside temperature being less than ideal for sun bathing. Nevertheless, sitting by the pool and taking in the view was exactly what we needed and could not have asked for a better spot. The hotel breakfast was quite good with a sufficient variety. I noticed many hotel guests were from out of town, mostly outside Italy. Seems like the hotel has many repeat clients who come back for the view. There are plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby that one does not have to rely on this hotel food all the time. If reading a book by a pool side and relaxing for a few days is on anyone agenda, I would highly recommend it. Honestly, the view from the room or the pool alone is worth a few days' visit.
We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of season so quite a few places locally had already closed down for the winter. Very easy to find and speedy check in. Our room was on the side but still had a great view of the lake. Modern bathroom, safe, tv and OK bed. We had a hairdryer and a mini bar but no tea making facilities. Free wifi although the signal was not great. Breakfast included in the price which consisted of hot eggs and bacon plus continental choices and fruit and cereal. We sat outside for breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake. The fitness room was ok, it has a treadmill, bike, cross trainer and a single piece multi gym but could have done with some free weights. The outside area is very well maintained, numerous sun loungers and a well kept pool and access down to the lake beach. There is an all day bar service too although no food served after breakfast. There is ample parking on site and also bikes to use. We chose not to cycle as the roads are quite narrow with speeding traffic. It's a ten minute walk along to the restaurants, so not far at all and that is also where you can pick up the ferries/water taxis from. There is also a supermarket down there however it always seemed to be shut. A short drive in the opposite direction will bring you to a pleasant but small promenade, with more restaurants and some beautiful wildlife such as swans and ducks. It is a lovely area however 6 nights might be just a bit too long and if we didn't have a car I think we would have been bored as there isn't too much in the immediate vicinity to keep you entertained. I would recommend this hotel, friendly helpful staff especially those serving at breakfast, amazing views and good location.
