Great Little Cabin and Sauna

We had a wonderful time staying at this little cabin. It’s in a perfect location for some peace and quiet, close to town and with lots of options for hiking nearby. The sauna was great as well.

Wonderful stay

My husband and I really enjoyed this cute and small place. It was tucked in the woods near Grand Marais. The wood sauna was a lot of fun to experience. Recommend this place. We will be back!

Wonderful Winter Stay

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely from the lovely haus to the sauna to the cute, secluded property. Thank you to the lovely hosts for letting us staying in the haus after the cabin door was broken by the previous guests. We loved the extra accommodations and we will definitely be back!

The coziest cabin for two close to so many good hiking trails and restaurants/shopping in Grand Marais. The wi-fi was a plus even though it’s the perfect tranquil getaway spot to unplug. Hope to be back someday!

Secluded getaway

Absolutely fantastic property! Close enough to Grand Marais for a day trip in but secluded in the woods enough to feel “off the grid.” The sauna was great with a refreshing rain water rinse, the bonfires were wonderful as we were serenaded by wolves howling. Highly recommend Devil’s Kettle Falls for a great hike!

Hiking trip

This is a cozy little cabin furnished with everything you need even if you didn’t know you needed it. Quiet setting in the woods with a sauna and fire pit made it a perfect getaway. Very conveniently located close to superior hiking trail.

Cute, cozy cabin stay

Our stay at this cozy cabin was awesome! We truly enjoyed our time up close to the north shore. The colors were just starting to come out! The sauna was an extra bonus after a day of hiking! The communication between the owner was great as well. Very responsive.

Decorating touches, velvet curtains and every thoughtful amenity. Comfy bed and bedding, even an “upscale” outhouse w art on wall. Next best thing to tent camping which I can no longer do. I will be back. Great getaway.

Cozy beautiful setting!

Wieso much enjoyed the beautiful fall colors of the trees. The home itself is equipped with everything we needed, and so well laid out that the size did not matter. The outhouse is cute and nicely decorated. Absolutely perfect for a three night stay to hike around the area. We will definitely return.

Cabin Retreat

The cabin is smaller, but offers plenty of space for a couple travelling to the area! It was clean and well-stocked. The views of the forest surrounding the cabin are beautiful, and the stars were amazing on a clear night. Hearing wolves in the distance from the comfort of the cabin was exciting. The sauna was great to use after a day of hiking and exploring downtown Grand Marais. We would definitely stay here again!

Remote location. You will not hear traffic but at sundown the neighbors sled dogs say good night for about 25 minutes.

Very much appreciated the host’s quick response when we were lost and unable to find the cabin. It was cozy and we like small cabins, but a car boy of potable water and a sink with a bucket to collect wash water would have been helpful. Also, the path to the outhouse was submerged under a few inches of water - maybe some wood chips would be helpful? We constructed a bridge with rocks and wood blocks just to get to the outhouse.

Perfect MEA Getaway

This place was truly exceptional. The cabin was a perfect size for us— it had everything we needed. You can tell everything was carefully thought of. It was amazing being able to lay in bed and just look out the windows at the end of the bed. It is such a unique, little cabin. Cleanest outhouse I’ve ever used! We will definitely be rebooking. Thank you to Stevie and Juani for sharing a little piece of heaven with us.

Lovely tiny home in the woods

We loved every minute of our trip it is a short distance to Downtown Grand Marais and lots of hiking around. Had campfires every night. Actually saw a a Black Bear walking 20-30 yards away in the woods. It is incredibly rare to see one and it saw us and immediately ran off. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to reconnect with nature and also sleep in a very comfortable bed. This is. The place for you.

Perfect for a solo retreat! I needed some relaxing time alone in the woods (in a beautiful maple forest, no less), but still wanted to be somewhat close to civilization, and this was the spot! I got such refreshing, restful sleep every night in this absolutely quiet, tiny (but airy) playhouse of a cottage, thanks to the super cozy and comfy bed! It was all just so sweet—even if, as I did, you just want to hang out and read as you listen to the rain all day. Grand Marais is only eighteen minutes away, so it was easy to run to town for dinner at the Angry Trout(!) and another time a mid-morning latte and fabulous pastries at the new Crosby bakery. Stevie and Juani, were wonderful, generous hosts—easy to reach via text. They have furnished this very clean, fairy tale of a house with north woods elegance (I especially love the velvet curtains) without it being over-decorated or cluttered. I had everything I needed, and felt perfectly at home all four nights I was there. A perfect way to have spent my 65th birthday and just the week I needed!
