Classic property. Well kept and maintained. You never have to go outside to get to train station.

I had a room with a bath which was excellent although the bath is awkward to get to taps and shampoo etc.....quite dangerous actually. Front desk were courteous but had no ideas about messages I had sent before my arrival.

This hotel is convenient to the city center no need to have a car. Located in the primary train station of Glasgow. Beautiful rooms and very grand place to stay. Steeped in history.

Love the location

Alan, at check in, was excellent. Made a reservation at a fantast8c restaurant. And some other very good suggestions. First class.

Very classy hotel. We had just half a day in Glasgow, with the architecture and whisky tours not available, but the location of the hotel made it easy to get to a great whisky-tasting bar and to shop for new raincoats. We even met the author of a book about the hotel, quite a storied history!

Connected to Central Train Station! Took our baggage early at the concierge

Hotel was great. Restaurant was way overpriced and service was terrible.

Hotel is beautiful. Great location. We walked everywhere. Parking was easy. It's a short walk away from the hotel. The hotel gives you half off of parking so it wasn't expensive for one night. Champagne bar! Big bonus. Although it wasn't champagne specific. They served everything. Bed was great. Room was clean. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. The bathroom walls were a bit moldy from that. It was quiet and we never heard our neighbors. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you buy breakfast ahead of time at the front desk, it is $10 instead of $16 pounds. I highly recommend this hotel.

If you plan to arrive in or depart Glasgow by train, this is absolutely THE place to stay! It is literally attached to the train station, yet you don't HEAR the train station. However, if you are arriving by car...good luck! There is no loading zone and you will have to find a parking space along the street somewhere. Thankfully, one of the porters was happy to help us unload and carry our luggage while my husband stayed with the car in a no parking zone, before he turned it back in to the rental agency. (We had rented a car from Inverness and wanted to unload our luggage at the hotel before turning the car in. If you can handle your luggage, I recommend turning your car in FIRST, then catching a bus, train, or cab to the hotel.) Our room was beautiful, quiet, and clean. And there was even a fan in the closet, which this lady of a certain age greatly appreciated! If you are exploring within the city center, I highly recommend walking or taking a cab. There are plenty to choose from, since the hotel is attached to the train station. In some cases, it's cheaper to take a cab than it is to catch a bus, and then you don't have to stop every few blocks. We opted for the breakfast buffet, and it was excellent. The cook was extremely helpful regarding my dietary needs, and even cooked up something specifically for me. We also had dinner in the hotel's restaurant twice, and the food was excellent!

Great location in the heart of Glasgow, a real hub of activity being above the Grand Central Train Station. Beautiful architecture and lovely room.
