Check-in was poor. Was given a basement unit. When I discovered we also had a key that didn't work, I asked for a room my disabled wife could access. Got the room only to spend three nights with a malfunctioning A/C that maintenance said was due to more than one unit having controls and we were a slave to the other unit who set their unit at 64°. So I spent the nights turning the AyC off and on. Then to top it all off, there were insufficient handicap parking spots.
This is a BlueGreens vacation resort as part of the BlueGreens timeshare company. This is a secondary location from their Gatlinburg Mountain Loft resort. We stayed for a few nights in what essentially was a condo as part of a demo program for the timeshares. There were some other types of lodging available. If you've ever lived in Florida, this resort looks like a large scale townhome complex with extra ameneties (pool, exercise, laundry, etc.) with some private buildings available as well. Unfortunately it seems to be built to the seem cheap standards. Conversations were audible through the walls, as were the footsteps on the floor above, and even the stairwell to other buildings. Materials quality for the furniture was very poor and uncomfortable, including bedsheets that had a sandpaper-like texture. Our unit was not entirely clean upon arrival, the carpet seemed very old and musty, and a spider had taken up residence in the tiny jacuzzi bathtub. While some may find value in Laurel Crest, I did not find it to be satisfactory compared to many other places in this area to stay. I made my concerns known to management, and they mentioned there will be renovations soon. I suppose we will see if there will be improvement.
Stayed here in early May, weather was beautiful and so was the view we had of the Great Smoky Mountains from our balcony. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a balcony featuring an outdoor dining table which we used every morning to enjoy the fresh air and atmosphere of the great outdoors. Had one issue during the visit where there appeared to be some water leaking from the hot water heater. We called maintenance and someone was up within the hour and fixed the problem (never happened again during the visit).
Laurel Crest was a great place to relax, and close to the Great Smoky Mountains which was why we wanted to go to Pigeon Forge. The town of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were too busy but looks like it might be great for families.
This is one of the best resorts I've stayed in ,and I've been RCI member for over 10 years . 3 pools, suana, exercise room ,2 maybe 3 hot tubs . The pool by building 4,5,6 was awsome . Really Nice rooms with elevators .Very clean ,super great staff... Especially Kim at the front desk very helpful thanks ... I even did the timeshare presentation set up for us by Tyler , it was very good and a lot of good information no presssure at all . We stayed in a standard room which was very roomy for 2 but , I would recommend the deluxe room if possible .. There is a lot of things to do in Pigeon Forge every restaurant you could imagine, lots of amusment parks for kids including Dolly wood . We went to the Dixie Stampede as recommended by the younger brunette at the front desk thank you to :) I really couldnt belive all the actives in Pigeon Forge a lot like Oralndo Florida in the middle of the mountains .Short trip to Smokey Mountain National park with lots of hiking just watch out for the bears lol we seen a couple . At the end of Laurel Crest drive is a nice litttle church called Liberty Baptist Had a great Vaction .. Thank you Laurel Crest and Bluegreen Vactions
This is a gem. Off the beaten path and beautiful. Grounds and pools perfectly kept. Staff wonderful. They all went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. A bit difficult to find but once you do you will love it.
We spent a week in Pigeon Forge,TN at Laurel Crest Resort. There were five of us in a two bedroom unit. The unit was large enough and the furnishings were comfortable. We tend to do a lot of sightseeing in the Smokies and our unit was a comfortable fit for us at the end of the day.
We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint we had was the noise from the sales office that was located directly above us. I would stay here again but would tell them in advance NOT to put me in building 10 below the sales office. The start work really early and woke us up everyday, which was not appreciated since we were on vacation and wanted the ability to sleep in.
I like staying at Laurel Crest for the convenience factor and the rooms are really nice and comfortable. We belong to Bluegreen resorts and have used several resorts with them. Like I said I like Laurel Crest because its near a lot of things to do in Pigeon Forge as where Mountain Loft is in a quieter location in Gatlinburg and not as convenient. (but relaxing)
Location is close to all of what Pigeon Forge offers while being set off the road in a peaceful setting. 4 unit building and a club house building make this resort small enough to be walkable to all the amenities. The not so good: The one bedroom lock offs really are small and unfortunately not thoughtfully furnished making it seem even smaller. Some simple downsizing of the furniture would make a big difference in efficiency and comfort. I could hear our neighbor snoring at night(not in the lock off unit) Ice machine in building 1 didn't work. They closed the hot tub at the main building without mentioning it at check in and didn't mention there was a second one once it was down. Pools could have been a little warmer. Unsupervised young kids in pools and playground (apparently parents think that having a view of them from there unit 3-4 stories up is supervision). The good: Great work out room 3 pools, 2 outdoor, 1 indoor 2 hot tubs A nice playground area Donuts, coffee and popcorn frequently available in the clubhouse for free Bird show at the club house Reduced rate tickets to local shows and attractions for a discounted price at the concierge desk Small, walkable resort Friendly staff
