My husband and I stayed here for a private getaway in April. It wasn’t too far up the mountain, which made it conveniently located, but did sacrifice the view (only a small amount). I do want to note the description mentioned a keurig coffee maker, but it was a regular drip pot which I think coffee drinkers like myself may need to know ahead of time. I bought k-cups specifically for it and then had to go out and buy ground coffee instead, no biggie just something to note for your reference. The bedroom door doesn’t latch, which isn’t a big deal for just a couple staying there, but the bathroom door doesn’t close all the way at all and may be slightly uncomfortable for some with it being the only bathroom in the house. Other than the door situation and the coffee maker confusion, the house was exactly as listed. It was on a quiet side street with hardly any traffic which gave us the privacy we had hoped for. The shower, hot tub, and jacuzzi tub really are the stars of the house for ultimate relaxation.

Ghosted by the owner. I was making perfect contact with the owner from the beginning. She contacted me only after i had already gone through VRBO Care after check out.First issue I texted about was the microwave not working and there was an ant problem. The owner did not respond with any cause for concern (i will have these things addressed was the response). At that point the ant situation seemed minor, so I went on to try and enjoy my husbands birthday weekend. I texted her a day later letting her know that the toilet was broken, and in order to flush, we had to do it manually through the tank. Never received any response. Then ants started falling on me while I slept. Needlessto say, I'm going home exhausted. This place needs to be bombed for bugs 100%. At this point I was helped out by VRBO and just want to forget this place all together. The sad thing is, it's a cute place, in a great location, I just think they do the bare minimum to get by. Read other reviews before you book, I wish I had. There was another person that mentioned ants over A MONTH AGO. Actual list of issues: Microwave broken handle (does not work).Rain shower head broken, we put a zip tie on it which helped from getting water boarded in the shower. The mattress was so old. We even rotated it ourselves, we both have back problems and the old worn out bed didn't help. MAJOR carpenter ant issue.Hot tub was low on water and only some of the jets worked. Ac return vent was Covered in dust.

The views was nice. But the property was very dirty and not maintained well and it had a lot of broken kitchen appliances. And had a insect problem with big black ants inside of the whirlpool and in the kitchen area so we cannot cook

Our family enjoyed our time at Black Bear Ridge! Clean amenities, homey, and relaxing. Loved the back porch with the hot tub! The host was super nice and helpful!

The cabin was not clean. My husband had to dust the bedroom ceiling fan just so we could use it. There were cobwebs everywhere. Several spots on the floor have separated creating a tripping hazard. There were multiple light bulbs out. The ourdoor fireplace was not worning.

We only had one night in Gatlinburg on the way to the beach, but this cabin exceeded our expectations for the short time we got to use it. Great communication. Clear check in and out instructions. Very clean and quite spacious for a one bedroom. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Our teen slept on the pull out couch and thought the mattress could have been cleaner, but clean sheets were provided. Also we couldn’t figure out how to use the fireplaces. Overall, though, it was a 5 star stay. We’d be happy to return if in the area again and would recommend to friends.

Cabin was awesome!! Great location and even saw a bear! Side note: TV outside wouldn’t come on when we first got there. Reset the outlet by the back door and it came on. Didn’t expect that to work but I checked everything else I knew to look at. Just wanted to pass along the info in case anyone has issues in the future!

Summer Getaway

We had an amazing 5 night stay here! It was so peaceful and relaxing. We spent alot of time just sitting out back and in the cabin. The shower is AMAZING!! The back deck with the tv and hot tub was wonderful. It was nice to just sit and relax. We will stay here again!

We had a wonderful week in the mountains at Black Bear Ridge. The bed was comfortable, shower was amazing, and the outdoor space was just what we were looking for. We will definitely be back next year!!
This moon was so big and bright!
