The owners are fabulous, and the rooms are clean. It's conveiently located to Yellowstone. The breakfast is always good. We go in gall and there are elk everywhere. The scenery is beautiful and there are rocking chairs on the porch so you are able to watch the wildlife or just enjoy the view.

The rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was very good. We stayed two nights and the breakfast each morning was different and very good. The area was quiet. This hotel was very convenient to Yellowstone’s North Entrance.

A beautiful location and a very comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife. Homemade breakfast was excellent every day. Nice to have a kitchen as dinner options in Gardiner were a bit limited.

We enjoyed our two night stay; just short drive outside of Gardiner. Lovely front porch area to enjoy at night; watched an elk herd across the road in a field. Very nice breakfast provided, clean room, friendly staff!

A beautiful rustic inn.

This is a rustic hotel in a beautiful natural setting. Our room was clean, comfortable and very nicely furnished. The only disappointment was that it was on the second floor with no elevator, so we had to carry our 50 pound bags up a flight of stairs. The hotel is privately owned and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay at the Yellowstone Basin Inn again but would request a first floor room.

Recommended stay

The place is nice and service is good but we were surprised by other reviews praising their breakfast..It was super basic and tasteless. Out of 3 meals, we opted twice to eat in town instead. Our unit was the closest to the road but we did not hear any noise at night, except some Elk calls (high pitch, almost like a whistle). Nice view on Devil's Slide.
