The floors were not clean, we found roaches, there were leaves everywhere in the back. Made it unpleasant to be back there.There is a musty smell in the back bedroom with the TV in it. Gave me have a headache had to move rooms. I found black mold where the water comes into the washer. Got on clothes being washed. On a good note overall it was a decent stay. Plenty of rooms for everyone. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Plenty of cook ware, plates, silverware etc. it was nice having the washer and dryer.

Everything about this house and location was absolutely awesome. If it happens to be available for your stay, BOOK IT!
Sufficient kitchen supplies to make your own meals.
We had brunch in the big kitchen and dining room.

I’ll start off saying the communication through the management group did offer a small refund for our experience.In the first 10 minutes of us arriving, we noticed almost every single one of the very cheap bed frames were broken. We would have left if we didn’t have a group of 10 of us to try to accommodate. We slept at the foot of the bed so our heads would be above our feet. Thankfully, we were only there one night to catch our cruise the next morning. I notified the management team over the property and they asked if we would like someone to come out to fix it, but I told them unless they were replacing the bed frames, there was no point. I’m assuming the bedroom with the shared bathroom wall, that shower must leak because that room smelled musty and we had to mop up water after people took showers. The pictures posted are not a true depiction of what it looks like today. I could go on but I’m not here to totally bash them, it was just an awful experience especially when you need to sleep. I’m not sure when the last time the owners actually visited the property but I left a list with the management in the short time we were there of things that were broken/missing and needed to be fixed. Also, just beware that the 2 bathrooms in the main house are inside the bedrooms. Yes, it’s stated in around about way on the page but there is no other shared door to use so you have bother sleeping people and go into their rooms to use the bathrooms.

This house is located in an area within easy reach of many Galveston attractions. The house is well appointed with all kitchen items you might need and was very clean. The host was easy to communicate with. There are several beds and two bathrooms. You can only enter the bathrooms through a bedroom. While we were there it was cold so could not use the pool which was only half full. The neighborhood has several empty houses which did concern us. The bed in the master bedroom has a broken frame which made the mattress tilt 3-4” in one corner making sleeping difficult so we moved to a different room. The frame should be repaired.

Our stay in Galveston was pretty good for a large group. Communication with the host was easy, and so was access to the property. The house was clean, spacious, and had most amenities. Some feedback- there are limited cooking supplies and soap/ body products in the kitchen and bathroom, respectively. There is also no separate bathroom in the main house, which made it a little difficult when every bathroom was connected to a bedroom. Overall, nice location and very close to the beach, and a great mini golf spot! Didn't get to enjoy the pool, but the outdoor area was very peaceful.

House worked for a day stay. The bathrooms are a bit weird as they are inside the rooms so it can get tricky if you have a big party. House has plenty of cooking items…strange they had coffee but no sugar but it was no biggie. Overall was a great stay and close to the port which is what we needed.

A very comfortable and well-appointed location for our family trip. The group included children 4 and up, their parents and aunt and their grandparents. The layout worked well for all of us. The decor was bright and fresh. The kitchen had every pot, pan, and small appliance needed. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed that the pool was not usable-half empty obviously out of order. The pool was one of the reasons we chose this property over other locations. Children & adults were disappointed. We should have been notified of pool status before arrival. Feel we should be offered at least a partial refund - perhaps 200.00 at least.

House was located on a neighborhood block that had vacant/run down homes all around. House was infested with cockroaches and ants. Pool had leak and would t hold water. Back bedroom had a leaking air conditioner that leaked all over one of the beds - it was unusable.

Overall okay stay, as it was a more affordable option. One of the A/C units leaked onto a bed, and I am more annoyed by this after I saw a past review that says the same thing. I did not see that before the stay but it means that they already knew. This makes one of the beds/rooms suitable for only 1 instead of 2 people. It soaked a pillow and filled a bowl with water overnight. Additionally, the main house A/C was not cooling so my husband checked the filter- it was the dirtiest I have ever seen, I would guess not changed in 6 months. They fortunately had a replacement filter and he replaced it. Lastly, extra sheets were not provided for the pull out bed in the guest house. Our friends had to purchase sheets for their child to sleep on the pull out bed. Overall, our biggest annoyance is that it did not come suitable to sleep the amount of people that it is supposed to, with the lack of sheets and bed that gets wet. We directly made the host aware of all of these things and were not offered anything (for example reimbursement for the sheets we had to purchase).

This home was shockingly dirty and infested. Roaches were everywhere, especially in the back house where the counters were covered with cracked, broken plastic. Dishes had been put away dirty, and the entire property felt poorly cleaned and maintained. The AC units dripped onto a bed, the floors creaked, and the AC completely failed on our last night. The home may list space for 10, but it does not accommodate 10 comfortably — every bathroom is inside a bedroom, and the electrical system couldn’t even power the dryer. Worse, my husband’s CPAP medical device shut off in the middle of the night due to electrical issues, which is unsafe. Water pressure was weak, hot water was scarce, and outside we found ant piles, sand in the pool, and I was stung by an asp. Overall, this property was filthy, unsafe, and absolutely not worth renting.

NEEDS current pictures. Arrived and there was no power in the home. Not informed in advance so we had a full car of groceries and no where to put them. 92 degrees and did not cool down until 1am. Poor communication. Exterior needs to be cleaned, overgrown landscaping and front entrance pressure washing. Kitchen lacks a hood microwave vent as in photos so when you cook all the steam goes everywhere and no light so we had to put a lamp next to stove to cook in evenings. Refrigerator not as pictured. It’s not as pictured. No ice or ice trays so bring your ice. Bathrooms are only in bedrooms so guests in other 2 rooms have to go through those rooms during the night which is awkward making bedrooms not private. This property was added on so that one of the BR which has 4 beds in it has a window that you look directly in the other room and vise versa. That window should be blocked or abandoned. Room with washer/dryer has a mini split which drips water on the headboard and wets the pillows and bedding which explains the mold smell in there. Bathtubs with no drains so if you want to bathe babies, shove a rag in the drain. No rugs anywhere in home as pictured. Pool not maintained. Pool lining coming off and full of leaves, sand and lining coming off. Firepit area abandoned and overgrown as well as sittings areas outside overgrown. Managed by beach box rentals which was terrible!. Neighborhood was sketchy. House next door abandoned.

Not very clean but good for large groups

Overall, our stay was okay. The host was very communicative, but did text a lot about wanting us to extend our stay or check in earlier for an additional price. If you’re wanting someone very communicative it’s a great place to stay for that if you don’t want to communicate as much this may not be the house for you. Upon arrival check-in was super easy. The location was close to the beach. It is in more of a sketchy neighborhood but overall was okay. The cleanliness of the house was probably, the main concern. We walked on the floors for not even a few minutes after arrival and our feet had turned black. We ended up going to the store to buy mop soap and a new mop and ended up mopping three separate times to get the floor clean, we also ended up wash and drying the rug because the rug in the living room was nasty. When we asked if they had a vacuum we learned that they did not have a vacuum available so that was a little disappointing. We also were a little concerned about the bedsheets because when we got into some of the beds, there were hair and sand in them. If you’re looking for a place to accommodate a lot of people I say this is a good fit, it’s spacious.The outhouse is nice if you have Littles that need to take a nap out there so that was a plus. If you have a large group a downfall is the bathroom. Only bathrooms are inside rooms so you have to walk into somebody else’s room in order to use the bathroom but if you don’t mind sharing than it could work for you.

Could Be a Great Stay With a Few Fixes

Our stay in Galveston had some great moments—the location was convenient, and the space itself had potential. We also appreciated the 200 credit offered by the host after we shared a few concerns.However, there were a couple of things that did affect the experience. The most noticeable was a large, uncovered hole in the ceiling, which was surprising and made the space feel unfinished. The rug in the main area also seemed quite worn and in need of a deep clean or replacement.We understand that things happen, and we appreciated the host’s effort to make it right with a credit. That said, we do hope the property receives a bit more attention moving forward so future guests can fully enjoy the stay it has the potential to offer.

Troubles galore

I don’t like to give negative feedback so I contacted management about a partial refund…no reply. So we had the following issues while here. 1. Main house refrigerator was not working upon arrival. Explained it was hot, not cool. Told to give it 24 hours. 2. Main house washer did not work. 3. Fridge and washer replaced in 24 hours. 4. Ceiling began leaking day of arrival. Notified manager. Sent pics of issues. Ceiling sagging, paint falling and toddler tried to eat some. 5 more than 24 hours later, maintenance main repaired the ceiling board, removed insulation, tacked up ceiling board and noted that it was a roof or ac issue. 6. Ceiling continued leaking the entire time we were there. We have had to clean up water, debris and messes. 7. Fridge in back bungalow doesn't shut well. Door stays open. Propped stool against it. 8. Replaced washer did not work well. She delivered statement was, not sure of this one is refurbished, good or not, let us know. We did…crickets. 9. maintenance man, this unit is having lots of issues, it needs an overhaul. Agreed. Not happy. Don't want to give a bad review but truly believe we should get a partial Refund.
