Amazing place to stay in heart of Funchal

This apartment was superb and met all our needs spacious rooms, comfortable furniture, the balcony was amazing place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and chill. Just what we needed. Would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

Comfortable, convenient, beautiful!

We had a lovely stay here! The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We were right in the heart of the old city, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and sights. The staff were easily accessible through the guest portal and were helpful in facilitating the booking of experiences. Thank you for everything!

Excellent location, fabulous, spacious and well maintained property. Spectacular views

Excellent location in center of Funchal. Spacious and well maintained property with very nice modern style furnishings. Views well worth climbing the 65 steps on the beautiful wooden staircase to reach the bedrooms and terrace. Easy self check in and check out service. We enjoyed our stay to full content.

A very well equipped apartment in a central location

This apartment is equipped with everything you would need for a self catering holiday but very close to great restaurants if you don’t want to cook . The municipal gardens are lovely and directly opposite the apartment. It is unsuitable for anyone less able as there are a lot of stairs both inside and out of the apartment

Well equipped and spacious apartment in a good location if you're mobile.

The Verdelho apartment exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well equipped and spacious. You have to allow for the fact that it's an old building and it's three floors up to the apartment and the apartment has rooms on four levels. Water pressure a bit low but everything worked. The location was ideal for us being in the centre of Funchal. There are lots of restaurants nearly. We booked both arrival and departure pick ups which were very good.

Fabulous Verdhelo appartment

Located in the centre of Funchal, just in front of a green square, Astonishingly spacious with a small terrace with a wonderful view of the city and the ocean. Excellent Wi-Fi, a big living room, very comfortable beds. Two bathrooms, But not on the same level as sleeping rooms. Everything you need in the kitchen. Pretty expensive, but rather a good value for money. Not recommended for people having problems with going up and down the stairs

Good visit to Funchal

We had a very nice stay in the Verdelho aparment. First, the positives - this is a lovely apartment in terms of space and fittings and it is an absolutely fantastic place in terms of location. Downsides - it misses a few simple things such as waste bins in the bedrooms, the cooker hood was not working, a light bulb was out in the living room, the bathrooms are very functional and rather old-fashioned. One other big issue (not for us but could be for other visitors) to get to the bedrooms it is 68 steps from floor to apartment entrance to bedroom. When you do this 10 times a day you know it! The only other major gripe was that we happened to be booked in when the Festival of Cider was on in the centre of town. Unfortunately this involved very loud music on a few nights coming from the venue less than 150m away. We challenged An Island Apart about the lack of warning and they claimed not to have known. Given this was a major festival I don't think that can be true. So beware local festivals!

Very nice, but….

It’s a very nice apartment on multiple levels so lots of stairs. Need to go to the bathroom during the night? You’ll need to go up and down a half flight of stairs. OK, so not a big deal if you are young. Before check-in, I was getting up to 4 emails a day from them. Then when we needed the coffee maker fixed, complained about no water in the bathroom sink, and a non-flushing toilet, I heard crickets. I paid for parking and was given a key card that stopped working after two days when I paid for four. At 6 am, I went to get out of the garage and the card didn’t work. Luckily someone came in and used their key to let me out. Otherwise my friend would have had to pay for a taxi to the airport. Other than that, it’s a great location, nicely refurbished very old apartment.
