The hotel lobby is impressive, featuring towering bookshelves, comfortable lounge seating, and a thoughtfully curated collection of Japanese books for guests to enjoy. It is a highly Instagrammable space and creates a strong first impression. The staff are generally helpful, particularly with luggage storage before and after check-out, as well as assisting with calling a taxi to the airport. However, a more prompt and proactive welcome would enhance the overall guest experience. The rooms are indeed small and basic. While the bookshelf-themed wallpaper adds some character, the overall design could be improved, even considering the limitations of the circular architectural layout. Ventilation in the rooms could be better, and the rooms would benefit from a fresher smell. A humidifier is provided instead of the standard air purifier commonly found in many hotels. The bathroom feels cramped, and in one of the rooms there was a noticeable smell of urine and mould during showering. This may be due to the shower curtain or wall surfaces and detracts from comfort and cleanliness. In terms of location, the hotel is approximately a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station when carrying luggage, which is manageable. However, it is located on the opposite side of the station, making it about a 25-minute walk to Canal City and the Aeon Express supermarket.

Loved the stay here, it felt like a high-end hotel in every way. The room was clean and well-kept, the staff were professional, and the beds were SO comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also excellent in quality, variety and freshness of foods. It was easily a highlight of our stay. Being so close to Hakata station, this was a gem of a place to stay in!

Clean and spacious room. An easy walk from the Fukuoka Station if you aren’t wheeling a suitcase. The hotel concept of a library is unique.
