How anyone could fault this hotel must be doing so only to get a claim. Food various choices each mealtime, there was always a choice even for the fussy eaters. . Staff all pleasant, friendly & polite. Facilities were excellent.

Food - amazing - every single day lovely fresh and plenty of choice Staff - amazing, except for lifeguard - miserable & obvs hates his job Room - adequate - shower good, beds comfy but the in room kitchen facilities are below par You have to pay for a safe, wifi, pool towels, and sunbeds by the beach so I have taken a star off purely for this reason as never had to do this at all-inclusive before. I would go back here in a heart beat had a fantastic time, thank you for all your hard work.

I must say I was a bit worried about staying at this hotel after reading some of the negative reviews. I needn't have worried. This hotel was fabulous from start to finish. We arrived at around 10 pm and greeted by a very helpful and polite receptionist. He explained all we needed to know, gave us a map and pointed out where we were staying. The complex is quite large but like anything, easy once you find your feet. He also explained that once we'd dropped off our suitcases we could go into the main dining for a cold dinner. This was much welcomed after a long travelling day. We stayed in an appartment (family of 4). Which was immaculate and spacious. The food there was fantastic, fresh and had something for everyone. Even had signs up displaying gluten free food. Now after reading some negative complaints regarding the food all I have to say is this:- if your a very picky eater and still can't find anything you like then go self catering and please yourself. The choice was always varied and fresh, 2 meat and always a fish dish. Roast and boiled potatoes Salads, pasta, rice (which was always cooked to perfection) with a choice of sauces and pizza. Plus the usual, chips breads, olives, cold meats and cheeses. Yum! We found EVERYONE at the hotel polite, helpful and was always greeted with a smile. The whole staff worked incredibly hard. Our room was always cleaned to a very high standard, the catering staff were always cheerful and worked tirelessly. We didn't have much to do with the animation team but again, worked so hard and the kids (and adults) seemed to love them. The entertainment went on day and night. We watched the evening shows and they are what you'd expect from a package holiday... again, if your looking for fantastic entertainment on a nightly basis then book a cruise! There are 2 main pools in the complex one where the animation team have activities and another quieter pool with 2 slides... although one was broken. The reception staff were very helpful, the hairdryer broke in the room and it was replaced by maintenance within an hour. No dramas no problems. We also had a very late flight back and we were able (€30) to keep the room till we were ready to be picked up. Check out is normally at 12:00, reception staff couldn't be more helpful. There are 5 bars in the complex (not all open at the same time and not all serving snacks. The Africa bar Beach Bar) was only open till 6 and served only drinks, which to us was a shame as it had a great view and would be nice to sit when the sun went down.... that said there was nothing to stop you taking drinks from another bar down there to sit should you wish. We also had the use (gold wrist bands) of 4 other SBH hotels to use but we didn't bother. All in all we had a good holiday here. The resort itself was quiet, there's not much around. A few shops in either direction all selling the same tat and a few bars/ restaurants but not enough to keep you entertained for the day. There's an African market at the bottom of the road twice a week... ok if you want a leather belt... not much else.

Spent a all inclusive week at this hotel. The hotel is very clean though i thought the kiddies pool needed some cleaning at times as alot of things floating around it. The food was good and suited most of our group except our youngest. There was not much for kids to eat other than chips. Would have been good to have even chicken nuggets or fish fingers for them. For everyone there was always something. The staff in dinning room were very nice and helpful and great with kids. The entertainment in evenings was good. Though make sure you get down around 7.30 to get a good seat to see stage. Be warned though, even with good seat you will find alot of people coming in late with pool area seats and before you know it you can move or see. Now for a few things that spolied our time. The bar staff (ok, only a few but it seemed they were always the ones serving around the kiddies pool). It was near impossible to get a smile from them let alone a short hi, thankyou, bye. It made us all feel they didnt like english people as we all noticed them laughing etc with other spanish people. Also, another big issue was with ice. These staff seem to think ice was coming from their own pocket. Asking for ice each time got a look that would kill. Is was getting to point we didnt want to even bother and would walk to other bar where we knew there was nicer staff. The hotel had a very high german and french occupancy ehich was starting to put me off by end of holiday as staff seem to bother with them more. Even the animation team seem to only come near them. (Though the work they do is crazy and take my hat off to them for effort and time they put into it.) The area of which the resorts in is very remote. Best tip for shops is either turn down right at hotel main entrance and few hundred yards are chemist, shops, tobaco shops. Beach is at back of hotel. Loads of sun beds (at around 6 euro each). Lovely sand and blue water. If your getting a sun bed though be warned when the tide comes in you will find the sea comes up around them all. End verdict. I dont think i would return here. Mainly because of a few staff we had to deal with every day have put us off. And becuase there were just too many germans and french.

I travelled to this hotel in July 2017 with three friends. I had travelled solo from London so arrived about 3 hours before the others. When they arrived the restaurant had closed- however as there were so many people arriving late, the restaurant opened and offered a cold buffet. This was a lovely touch. The reception staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. There are a lot of nationalities staying at this hotel and they were able to converse with everyone very easily. Restaurant : Wonderful choice at every meal time. At lunch time and dinner the fish and meat is cooked in front of you so comes straight off the grill to your plate. There was always a fantastic choice of salad options too. This hotel also goes to the trouble of producing fresh vegetables - something that is not always on offer in All Inclusive hotels. You can also dine at the Asian restaurant - something we did and the food and service was just as good. The entertainment staff worked very hard - although not particularly aimed at our age group, their effort should be acknowledged to keep the majority entertained. The hotel is clean, spacious and relaxing. The surrounding area is a bit quiet but that is quite usual in Fuerteventura. Beach is a very short walk from the pool and there are plenty of sunbed and there is also windsurfing available. We booked through First Choice however my flights were with Thomas Cook, something that caused a bit of confusion on arrival at the airport. Third queue proved to be the right one. We never saw our rep once - there is no presence in the hotel except for a folder which details the surrounding area and on the day before your departure it lists what time you will be collected. Whilst this was not a problem for us; if you were a family looking to book a few days out or car hire - it would be restricting. Luckily the reception staff are so helpful - they would come to the rescue when it was not really in their job description. The only negative at this hotel is the sunbeds. People seem to be up very early in order to reserve them. I know this is the fault of the guests rather than the hotel .... but I do not want to get up at 7am on holiday to reserve a sunbed. Luckily my friends and I found that you could pay €10 a day to reserve a lounger on the terrace. For us this was perfect. However not a option if you travel with children. Overall I have no complaints about my stay a this hotel. It was an thoroughly enjoyable restful week and I would have no hesitation in returning.

Stayed here for a week loved it! Food lovely always plenty of choice. Staff were lovely very friendly. We had no children but animation team were good fun all the kids seem to enjoy themselves & many adults! Our room was next to the beach bar so 2 minutes from beach, brilliant. Our only complaint was we couldn't have a courtesy room on day of checkout but was offered use of shower in sister hotel next door. Bit of a pain but we managed, not put us off going again.

We have just returned from our holiday here. We enjoyed our holiday very much.. The rooms are comfortable, clean and we had a sea view. We were above the reception so the lift to all levels was a bonus. The whole hotel is very clean considering the amount of people. The food was plentiful, varied and if you couldn't find something to eat then I don't know why. Always restocked and hot. Yes other nationalities do get catered for and yes they do queue jump but never mind there is plenty. British are in the minority but the hotel is in the Canaries so all are welcome to holiday there, which I think is a plus. Staff were friendly and helpful in all areas. With the exception of the Thomson rep.....what rep ...never saw them and had to text direct for pick up time. Not the hotels fault I know. Now for the minus points..the scramble for sun beds in the morning. All gone by 9.00 am. Also the lack of evening seating outside. Not everyone wants to sit inside at night on a lovely evening. Bar Africa would be nice to have a drink and watch the sunset. We loved the hotel and the beach was beautiful so we were happy.

Positives first....On a late arrival we were checked in quite quickly and offered a cold buffet, found our room which was really nice, the food in the restaurant was excellent, so much choice. The room was spotless, bathroom enormous and amazing power shower over the bath. Now for the negatives......the hotel doesn't cater for the British, all the other nationalities get preferential treatment and no I don't go on holiday just to mix with other brits, but we were told that there were 40 English and 1600 other nationalities, mostly German and then Italians.....Entertainment is dire, the "Animation" team constantly badger you, one of their "activities " was 'see how far you can spit an ice cube'....Nightime entertainment, if you could actually get in the room, was poor. It was such a shame that the pool bar or the Bar Africa didn't stay open, as it was lovely sitting overlooking the beach. We didn't even get a courtesy room for a shower,( other nationalities did ),even though we had to check out by 12 and weren't being picked up till 6...!!!! If you want great entertainment, places to go outside the complex, friendly fellow holidaymakers, then don't go here..ps, don't have a room on the very sea front as someone had theirs broken into, patio door smashed and lots stolen.

We read all the reviews before we came out don't believe any negatives about the hotel 4 days in brill if you carnt find food to eat there is something wrong with you not the hotel .the rooms are spotless aircon a dream. pools are so good slide pool the best African bar is great in the afternoon just to chiil will write a full review on return

We stayed at SBH Monica Beach from the 8th-15th July through First choice and we went all inclusive. We went with our two daughters who are 20 and 18 and my daughters boyfriend. We all had a really lovely holiday, I contacted the hotel after I booked and requested we had rooms fairly close to each other so were pleased when we arrived to have rooms next to each other and I didn't even mention it when we arrived. We were a little dubious after reading a lot of bad reviews before we went. On arrival we were greeted by fairly pleasant reception staff who quickly booked us in and gave us the relevant information, we paid for the safe 35 euros for the safe (10 of which you get back when you give back key and form) we found this about the same as we've always paid and it was very easy to use and was a good size which was good as we'd bought some valuables in the duty free. We never paid for towels as always take our own but lots of people made use of this. We were shown to the restaurant for a cold buffet which was appreciated after a long day. Finding the rooms was fun as we were at the far end of the complex but we got there eventually . The rooms have been refurbished and were very clean, could of done with a little more storage as only a wardrobe which was a bit of an issue as there were 3 in one room. Nice to have a fridge which we kept water in. The bathroom was very clean but a little dated, the shower was in the bath and was just attached through the tap but omg it was an amazing shower, very powerful. I gather the bathrooms are next on the list for updating. Both rooms had a nice patio area with table and chairs and we looked out onto the next hotel which wasn't a problem as weren't in room much. Not many English channels on tv but we never use it and I personally enjoy being away from the tv for a week. The dining area was lovely and clean and there was a good selection of the normal all inclusive buffet style food. However the issue here was all the German, French, Italian etc not wanting to queue and just pushing in when and where they wished, there was a certain group of about 12 who always wanted to sit in the same place all the time and kicked off if they didn't get it (we even witnessed the entertainment team being asked to move to enable them to sit in this particular spot). We found this quite laughable really as no one should have a set table when we all pay the same to be there. The animation team were great and worked tirelessly all day to keep everyone entertained but didn't hassle you if you didn't want to join in. The evening entertainment was a little hit and miss really, they tried they're best. The African Footprints act was the best of the week but the bar area was nice and relaxing so we often stayed until the party songs at the end. We had one particular guy who was collecting glasses who was lovely and laughed with us most evenings. All the staff worked really hard and most of them were friendly. The pools were freezing but it was quite nice to cool off when it was really hot. The one issue was had was no one could use balls (even inflatable ones) we like to throw in pool and play catch but got told off. Apparently its for health and safety reasons. We have never come across this and there were lots of disappointed kids because of it as they sold them in the site shop. They really need to look at health and safety with umbrellas blowing everywhere in the wind, we saw them fall on people and going flying with peoples clothes on. One almost hit a man asleep in a wheelchair which was a little worrying. During our stay it was my birthday and my daughter & her boyfriend got engaged, we both got congratulations letters and bottles of complementary champagne which was a lovely touch. You are allowed to visit and use the facilities in the other SBH hotels in the area which was good, we only did this once. We didn't see our Thomson rep the whole time we were there and weren't given any home transfer info but there was a lovely young man on reception who helped us out with everything. Our biggest gripe was that we couldn't get a late room. We had to be out of our room by 12 and being picked up at 5. I asked the nice young man the night before we left and he looked at our room numbers and said he wasn't sure and to check in the morning. I did this and the lady was very blunt and just said no without even checking our room numbers. They didn't even offer a room to shower in (which we know other foreign guests got to use). We just had to sit around in the shade all afternoon. We just felt that although we had a memorable enjoyable holiday the hotel prefers all the nationalities apart from the English so for that reason we wouldn't return.
