Great family holiday, children happy with sports, games and activities, good service, food quality ok although not very varied, buffet restaurant noisy but nice in La Toscana (not included) and on the terrace if you pay extra for the Barcelo +

Good hotel just the hill on way back from beach can be hard walk and 2 single bed put together when i sleep with partner not good if you loooking for children hotel is just perfect We have really good time

We had a lovely week here over the easter holidays and enjoyed it very much at this hotel but there were a few things that we thought could be improved. The kids were entertained day and night, always something to do. The entertainment staff were very friendly , bar men in the piano bar were particularly helpful and attentive at all times, unfortunatley the same standard of customer sevice did not stretch to the dinning room where only a few members of staff appeared to have been trained to the same standard. The evening dress code for men was confusing as jeans tracksuit bottoms and trainers were allowed along with tee-shirts but smart tailored shorts and leather sandals were not . Our rooms were extremely clean and the bed very comfortable. there was a free bus service to the beach which was very useful as the hotel was up hill.

We had a lovely 10 night stay here over Easter and would recommend it! We had a family suite with a sea view and it was perfect for us, amazing view and comfortable clean rooms. The staff were generally very polite with the exception of one very grumpy jobsworth in the restaurant but we avoided him easily. The front desk staff were so happy and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Check in and out was very easy and stress free, they were great. The food was a bit repetitive but to be expected in one buffet restaurant, the speciality chefs were producing different things each night but it was often stone cold. The temperature of the food could be hotter all round but we certainly didn't starve! Having read the other reviews, yes it's up a steep, hill but if i can make it and my children can climb the hill from the beach, then it really isn't that bad! A lovely place to stay near an amazing beach, definitely worth considering if you're thinking of visiting this area.

I am from Poznan in Poland and spent in this hotel two weeks from 10.04 to 24.04. I was there with my wife and my son who today is three years old. This hotel is good especially for families with children. Very good animation team. Mister Rafa was the best. Everybody was helpful and smiling. Food in restaurant was very good. Delicious. Very good icecream. Everyday something diffrent. Only rice in sushi was overboiled. Room was cleaned everyday. We hadn't minibar. I think it was in Barcelo+ offer as most of the drinks in bars. There were two swimming pools. One with little warmer water. If more information is needed you can contact me at k_rozycki@o2.pl.

We booked a last minute Easter break on Booking.com and were 100% delighted with this hotel. We've been to Fuerteventura before and always stayed in Corralejo, once at Suite Atlantis Resort and once at Las Marismas de Corralejo, (this place is by far the best hotel of the three!) so were a little unsure what to expect when we couldn't find anything we liked (at short notice) in Corralejo and had to "settle" for Occidental Jandia Mar in Jandia. The reviews on here are mixed and generally focus on the hill that the hotel is positioned on and the standard of the food, we needn't have worried. Our transfer by "speedy shuttle" took about 1hr 20mins and check-in was quick and easy. We were warmly welcomed and given clear instructions on how to get to our room. At booking we requested two sea-view apartments, next to each other, and we got exactly that. We'd been upgraded to "Lux" rooms and were delighted with our suites. Very modern, spacious, clean and more than adequate with a lovely balcony with views of the complex and sea. The beds were extremely comfortable, absolutely fantastic. The bathroom had a bath, shower, sink, toilet and bidet! Lots of free toiletries and loads of towels. There was a tele, a desk, chairs, wardrobes and a decent little fridge. There is a safe deposit box in the wardrobe that you have to pay for but I think it was only €3 a day. All in all, everything we needed. In the fridge was a complimentary bottle of chilled water. On day two there was a complimentary bottle of chilled Prosecco and a box of Belgian Chocolates! We thought the hotel was very modern and very clean, there's loads to do and always something to do! Brits are definitely in the minority here but thats not a bad thing! The Animacion team were fantastic but not at all pushy and kept everyone entertained. The pools are brilliant, filled with salty sea water, one heated and one not, of varying depths and covered by lifeguards. Loads and loads of sun loungers available and absolutely NO need to be up early to put towels down, in fact its discouraged and forbidden! We thought the food was exceptional. The restaurant is large and can get very busy at peak times. Europeans tend to eat late and we found the best time to go was towards the start of the sitting. The food was varied and plentiful, always a different themed night and a BBQ outside most nights. We ate outside on the terrace as often as we could and never struggled to get a good table, even with 5 in our party. I don't understand why people mention in their reviews about men having to wear trousers to dinner? I think it's good and is no particular hardship? It's a tiny bit posh. Likewise, people who say some of the buffet food wasn't warm enough? Take it back, get some fresh? We were very impressed with the food and the dining room staff throughout our stay. We were always greeted and welcomed into the restaurant, usually by a manager, and always seated. Loads of good stuff for fussy eaters such as breads, pizza, pasta, salad, chips, lasagne, etc etc, and an excellent choice of drinks which included fruit juice, fruit smoothies, soft drinks, wine, sangria and the local lager Tropical. People say it becomes repetitive, of course it does, it's bound to, sit somewhere different! My ONLY criticism of the food, and it's been said before by other reviewers, is the coffee! Its pants. Bizarrely, you can buy a proper Nescafe coffee from the poolside bar for €1.50. Come one Occidental JM, sort the coffee out please! The free hotel WiFi was generally alright but understandably slowed down at busy times, no big issue. Small shop on site which sold souvenirs and basic essentials, and there was a SPAR in a little shopping complex at the bottom of the hill, apx 300m away. The poolside snack bar was alright too. A decent selection of burgers, hot dogs, chips etc and bread, cheeses, ice cream and of course drinks. Plastic cups poolside, which some reviewers have been critical of but I think it's fairly obvious why they supply plastic cups poolside...... The poolside bar was well equipped with your AI drinks and all the premium brands to buy, with only very short waits at the busiest times. Right, the location, this hotel is positioned on a hill. There, I've said it. It's not a massive issue, it's just a hill. I'm Cumbrian, I love hills. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the beach and back frequently throughout the day, problem solved. We used the shuttle to get into town, even when not going to the beach. We also splashed out on the odd taxi for only €4. Hill dealt with. The Beach. The beach at the bottom of the hill is pants. Its part of a salt marsh which is a nature reserve and full of rocks. In the distance you will see a lighthouse, head there. Past the lighthouse the beaches are absolutely stunning, world class, almost as nice as the dunes at Corralejo! Nudists everywhere. The resort. Jandia/Morro Jable is a lovely place but there isn't much to do here. There is no busy strip full of shops, restaurants and bars etc like Corralejo, there are a few smaller shops and cafes along the promenade and a few nice cafes towards the harbour but it's much quieter, probably due to all the massive AI hotels in the area, and thats not necessarily a bad thing. Avoid the harbour, theres nothing there, at all. Avoid the African market, unless you want a Micheal Kors bag for €30 or your daughters hair braided. In summary, loved the hotel, very impressed, but prefer livelier Corralejo. Oasis Park is nearby and well worth a visit if you need a break from the beach. Would we go back, most definitely yes! We had absolutely no issues at all, but I'm confident that the friendly reception staff would have sorted anything out promptly if I had. Very good, very clean, very good value. Thanks team OJM, great work and we'll see you again, well done.

We were in block 2 we enjoyed the walk down to the pool areas. Our room was serviced daily. The animation team were brilliant. Pool areas fab comfy sun loungers. Food was excellent fresh and great choice. Loved the daily yoga in the sun

Overall very good holiday. Very clean hotel, friendly staff, very good facilities, large pools. Good daytime and nighttime entertainment. Also kids club was very good. Th dress code for dinner drove me mad though. The men have to dress-up while the women do not. It doesn't make sense.... Have same for both or none.

Both myself any partner are struggling to provide a suitable rating as we both very disappointed with so many elements of this holiday. The food was very poor quality and choice was very limited. One one occasion my partner also found polythene in her dinner. We reported this to the buffet staff who simply shrugged there shoulders and went about there business. It was further mentioned to the reception staff who also failed to help us. There were queues to enter the buffet almost daily as it was extremely busy. This was often replicated at the bar. All inclusive at this hotel also had restrictions and anyone staying should certainly familiarise themselves with this before booking. We questioned this at the hotel and were advised that all inclusive simple referred to a meal plan and we should take this up with the tour operator, who were also u able to help. Wifi was hit and miss, often unable to connect in room or anywhere else in the hotel. Quite a lot of noise from the loading bay and neighbouring room. The pool side was extremely busy and felt a little like sardines. Beach approx 15 mins walk, where sun beds will cost you. Room was ok and the staff seem friendly enough, but overall very underwhelmed with all aspects of the hotel and the customer service level this is reflected in the rating. I'm saddened that I have not been able to list some more positive aspects, at least the sun came out!
