What a great find! Outstanding hotel and one of the best I've ever stayed in (and I've traveled more than most!) The hotel is easy to find, a little outside the city centre. It's on the riverside, but as it was February and snowing, we didn't make much use of the outdoor areas! Smooth check-in by very friendly efficient staff. My room was fantastic!! So comfortable, I didn't want to leave! High quality furnishing, very modern in style. Excellent bathroom! Good free WiFi. The restaurant was closed for a private function when we were there so I ordered room service. Dinner arrived promptly and was delicious!! Breakfast in the conservatory restaurant was very nice too with plenty choice of quality fresh food and drinks. Mind you, at €25 per person for breakfast, it was perhaps a bit expensive! It's unheard of for me not to find fault with a hotel, but the closest I can come to a complaint would be the bathroom towels are a little small for a man of my size! That's it, the only thing that wasn't perfect! The hotel, restaurant and bar are all fantastic and I will definitely stay again when next in Frankfurt.
Great hotel. Stayed for 2 nights now in November 2017. Never seen so amazing bar and the restaurant was great!! Good food and the athmosphere was lovely. If I go back to Frankfurt we will stay where again.
Modern, reasonably sized rooms. River view. Clean but simple bathroom, which showering set under water. No good noise insulation. In the rooms on the level above reception you can actually hear people at reception talking. Other than that nice. Breakfast was OK. Free parking.
I have just checked out here after three days of business trip. The staff were excellent and the bar, restaurant and breakfast were all very good. The smoking bar is a nice size and has good ambience if you can stand smoking. BUT the rooms are in urgent need of upgrade. I had a suite-which really meant it was a very large room of peculiar layout- loo at the other end of the room from the shower and basins. Small TV, eccentric heating, cold floor in shower room, limited TV reception, out of date lighting. Really let's the place down as an experience. Okay, I guess, for business (but a schlep into City), but not for a romantic few days away. Shame, because it could be so much better.
Came here for business. Lovely cool white room, with nice bathroom, big bed, lovely view. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, Weiner Snitzel and potatoes. Then wine in the beer garden. Beautiful views of the river, lovely service. Breakfast perfect, omelette, Cheeses, fresh fruit juice, coffee. I would go back tomorrow for a week if I could.
I want to share my wonderful experience here at the Gerbermuehle Hotel. First of all I will start off saying coming from the US and living in California I have pretty high standards of hotels and the Gerbermuehle lived up to everyone of my standards. The hotel had quaint character. From the character in my suite, to the hotel lobby to the bar each area offered something different and unique. The Gerbermuehle hosted my wedding and with the trust of my new husband I never actually had seen the hotel until my wedding reception evening. We drove up and I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The Marianne suite which is the room we stayed It was huge, clean and again offered character. It didn't feel like I was at a corporate hotel, but I felt I was somewhere special. I have to recommend the event coordinator that helped me and spoke English with me to plan my wedding there. Her name is Maureen and she is amazing. She is communicative, helpful and always made me feel comfortable. Planning a wedding via email is always hard. She met me on my wedding evening to introduce herself, which I thought was a personable friendly touch. The service was impeccable. Johnny and Tommy served myself and my guests with friendly smiles and great service. The food served was excellent! The wine and champagne choices were also tasty. Myself, my husband and guests truly enjoyed the overall experience at the Gerbermuehle. I would recommend it for families, friends, couples. I would highly recommend it for a wedding or any special event. I want to give thanks to all the people at Gerbermuehle for making my day and stay there extraordinary!
Based on the review, I thought that this would be a nice boutique hotel. Turned out a simple hotel with minimal front desk service: no city knowledge, just good for booking taxi. The room has minimal furniture, small sofa, mismatch study desk and German's bed: 2 twin beds in 2 different set of sheets for its jr suite. When I checked in bed has no sheets as laundry was not back yet, checking in at 1pm. When the maid finally made the bed did not check bathroom as it needs new towels. The towels were thin. This hotel is far from everywhere, you would need private transportation, ie taxi. The only advantage was its location by the river bank. Very nice to jog and walk around.
we had a suite, which was the size of a comfortable flat in london.the hotel itself looks dark and cold and the smell of cigarette smoke is overwhelming! we had a private room for dinner and the quality of the food was excellent ,as was the choice of wines.we had an early start before they served breakfast and we asked if they could pack something for us the have on our onward journey.when we opened the bags on the train we found one half baguette white and one brown, nothing else!!! more than strange!!!
Stayed over Christmas with family. I had expected more, since the place is known for its Sommergarten and restaurant. Service in the restaurant (incl. room service) was great. The same does not apply also to the hotel personnel. Overall very clean, however even the suites have limited furniture and feel rather empty (i.e. very uncomfy and small sofas). The restaurant is highly recommended (avoid the skylit area, appears nice but its very loudy due to the full glazing), unfortunately I can not state the same for the hotel. Interesting area to take a walk (or bicycle ride) along the river or in the areas around the new ECB building.
The minute you come into the hotel , there is a strong smell of cigarettes. Apparently it is allowed to smoke in the bar which is in the entrance to the hotel, door all open. I dont understand what kind of management allows this kind of a thing!! I would not recommend to families with children. The rooms are clean and cosy. The Dinner was overpriced!!!. A fish for 24eu , for something i would not call a dinner. Frozen fish, steamed spinach and 2 potatoes. Im sorry but i could do a lot better. It had no taste. My husband food was also a disaster. Service was good. The breakfast was ok. The omelette was soaked in oil. There was no muesli. I will not recommend, neither come back.
