We stayed at the Mercure in June, 2017, over nighting in the middle of a music tour. Overall we gave it a 4. Would have been a 4+ but for the slippery shower Location - not right in the centre of town but a 5 minute walk to the Alte Mainbrucke bridge. The building ... Halls / public spaces --- were clean and modern The room ... #224 Size --- big Bathroom --- CAUTION very slippery floor in the shower. It is semi open, leads to some splashing if you are not careful or if you are unfamiliar with the high tech dual shower control. The bed --- Sleep Quality Bed was good. King. Noise --- Very noisy on the front of the building, lots of street noise even up on the second floor (North American third storey) Cleanliness very clean Amenities ... Internet --- worked well, avoid the Telekom router (says "suggested") which is full of ads Coffee maker - no, only a kettle Fridge --- no TV --- big flat screen TV, we did not watch a lot but seemed to be dozens of channels in German, English and French. Breakfast - buffet, not as large and varied as some we have seen but absolutely adequate for a good meal. No decaf' coffee was apparent and none was offered. Dinner in on site restaurant the restaurant is not open for dinner. Special diet - wasn't made apparent that there were gluten - free or dairy - free options. Tips to get a good room: avoid the front of the building (noisy street)
The Wurzburg mercure hotel was a good place for our weekend city trip. The location near the historic city is perfect for walking. Our room was clean and comfortable. Quietly located at the rear side. The bathroom is rather small and has no separate shower. Breakfast is good.
OK for a night or two but not for longer periods. Functional rooms, not luxurious but it does not advertise itself as a luxury hotel. It suited our purpose just fine. A travelers hotel for short stays.
Lady working check in very rude and mean! Asked for help in English. She responded very ugly and rude right in front of my wife and children. I asked the other person working the desk to please report her for us and that her behavior was intolerable.
The beds were comfortable. However, I only gave it a 3 because there was a musty odor when we entered the room. We left the windows open while we wandered around town which seemed to eliminate the problem. Breakfast was ok, but very expensive.
i was there for 4 nights... the room and the staff were perfect. there was bottled water and fancy glasses. they changed the towels for me every day and refilled the shower gel/ soaps and tea/coffee every day. the bar/cafe was very comfortable and as private or public as you needed. the hotel had a very homily feel about it. the view onto the street and the closeness to the river was excellent . the staff were very considerate of my needs. the building itself had been recently renovated and was clean and tidy. my whole stay there was worth much more than they charged me.
A Change of plans had us staying here two nights. While not fancy, this Mercure is totally fine. Easy to find, good safe parking, small but comfortable rooms. Ask for a room not facing the street, as they can be noisy. The man at the desk was wonderful. So helpful and patient! The hotel is in the best location for walking up to the Fortress. And in only 10 minutes you can get to the city center, or 20 min walk to the Residence. Great town with very nice people.
Affordable parking. Easy access. Good location. Short walk to city centre. Breakfast expensive so we ate at an excellent café at the west end of the Old Bridge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was a bit small for a Mercure.
Just as can be expected, nothing more nothing less. Nice room but without a mini fridge (come. on.), good bathroom but you hear every time a neighbor takes a bath. Wifi laggy, mostly German channels on the TV, OK breakfast, blah decoration... Correctly helpful staff.
