This is a nice modern Hotel. We stayed on the ground floor and our room had a nice outlook and was very quiet. The room had a good comfortable bed and we slept well. We were only there the one night. The hotel is located near the river and close to town. Our package included breakfast and this was quite comprehensive. We found the staff to be very pleasant. All up a good experience.
Stayed two nights. Great room which was very spacious. The staff was very helpful. The delicious breakfast buffet was elegant. Difficulty using the wi-fi was the only negative. Would recommend highly.
We stayed here one night and glad that was the case. Nothing great about it. I didn't like the room but the location was good. There would be better places to stay in the area in my opinion. Saying that, I though breakfast was quite good.
Good if you need to be right smacked in town, near the river and the station as well. Old like most of the hotels in Europe but clean. Have English speaking staff and breakfast was alright but always crowded.
Very good location in the centre of town. 15 minute walk to the jaw-droppingly beautiful hofkirche. Comfortable rooms. Air con and wifi were good. Staff were helpful enough but there was always a queue at reception. Very good car parking facilities at 8 euros per night. We hadn't paid the extra for breakfast but I was still surprised that there was no free coffee either in the room or in the lobby. When we stayed, there were renovations going on, so we were subjected to drilling noise until 5.30 pm. Drilling re-commenced the next morning. We were warned about this on arrival, but by then we had already made the booking, so we had to put up with it. Also of note was the very unusual semi-transparent sliding door to the en-suite bathroom.
OK hotel. Comfortable room. Good range of food for dinner & breakfast. Gym & pool. Smallish, & gym equipment limited, but adequate. NO tea/coffee making facilities in room. A short walk onto town. Staff variable.
I stayed with a holiday group as a single traveler in a twin bedded room of good size and suited me fine. Both breakfast and evening meal included, it offered a superb choice for both and was excellently laid out. The staff was both friendly and pleasant. I would stay again. Con. No tea or coffee facility in room.
Went there in month of july, there is so much to do in the town with beer festival and fairs, enjoy glass on wine on old bridge, everything is accessible. walk by the river side after evening meal is exceptional. So location is top advantage. Breakfast is ok, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Nothing to complain.
I was in Germany for 3 weeks for business I stayed at the Maritim. It definitely is not the most updated hotel, but I didn't have a bad experience there.plus, the location is great. It is right near the river, the tram, 15 minute walk to the busbanhof, and a 10 minute walk to the city center. The breakfast buffet is very good and most of the staff was more than willing to help me. I would stay there again, if the opportunity comes up again.
I've been in the Maritim Hotel Würzburg for business purpose (quarterly team meeting of my company) and stayed one night there. The first impression of the hotel's entrance at the underground parking deck was not very enjoyable, the parking area is dark, shabby and very narrow. At the reception I've had to wait nearly 20 minutes because several guests queued up in front of me and only 2 receptionist were on duty. Same with the elevator: It took ages until it arrived. Inside the elevator the mirror was broken and parts of the broken glas were protruding into the cabin. From then on I've been using the concrete staircase which emits the charm of a construction site. My room was in the 4th floor and catapulted me back to the mid 80s: everything was outdated and worn out, except for the flatscreen TV. The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned, there were hairs around the basin and all drains were producing funny gurgling noises when flushed. Several tile joints were mouldy, especially in the shower cubicle. It was hot at Würzburg (36°) and the aircon of my room wasn't able to cool down below 25° which made a restful sleep impossible for me. Even worse at the conference room: Although my company asked for air-conditioned meeting facilities, there was no aircon. The inside temperature exceeded the outside temperature easily. After complaining, the hotel staff organised a pedestal fan which at least produced some warm draught. Focused work - the real goal of our stay in Würzburg - was impossible. The lunch buffet we got was a dissapointment also. I took the "Hühnerkraftbrühe" (chicken stock with noodles) as a starter, it had a heavy sweetish taste, as if the cook took sugar instead of salt, and was inedible. The potato gratin which I've chosen as a side dish for my chicken drumstick wasn't cooked thoroughly. I've tested several other dishes, nothing special at all, mainly lacking spices and obviously cooked with artificial flavouring. The breakfast buffet was much better and offered a wide choice. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was ready-mixed and tasted horrible. The last item of my review is the hotel bar, which closes at 1:00am. The bar staff started cleaning up at midnight, giving all guests the unpleasent feeling that they should leave expeditiously. Considering this list of shortcomings, the room rate (over 100,- Euro including parking fees) is clearly overpriced in my opinion. On the other hand, I have nothing to complain about the staff. All staff members where friendly and helpful, obviously knowing full well that their workplace has a lot of deficiencies. I wouldn't recommend the Maritim Hotel Würzburg for tourists and certainly not for business people who plan to use the hotel's meeting facilities in summer.
