Our hockey team stayed here after a game against the Komets. The staff, Adrienne to be exact, was so easy for work with in making this reservation and made sure everything was taken care of along the way. Will definitely stay here again next season!
We make an annual trip to Fort Wayne for an event, and have stayed here twice. Great service and room. The new recliners are better than before. The roll-in shower is properly designed and doesn't spill water all over the floor, which is great, although a non-slip rug might be a good idea. Our only complaint is that it seems a little pricey especially for a place with no breakfast. Pay attention to your GPS, there are faster ways to get there than the roundabout path ours took us on.
Closest hotel to my work near Fort Wayne the Candlewood Suites had the room, kitchenette, good breakfast, WIFI, restaurants I would walk to and the right price! It is a quiet and peaceful location near the center of town,
My stay was good the kitchen had its own dishes and pots also there were other appliances that you could borrow for free at the desk the pool was good overall it was clean and a great stay just too expensive in my opinion.
We stayed at this hotel just passing through Fort Wayne on a weeknight. The receptionist was very pleasant and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised at our unit. (We’ve stayed at many Candlewood Suites in the past that were a little run down). The unit was literally immaculate, furnishings very nice, paint perfect, etc. Full sized fridge, microwave, dishes, flatware provided. This place is definitely a cut above from your usual CS. One minor complaint is the anemic hairdryer. Barely any airflow. The hotel is right off the expressway and there’s Costco right across the street.
We stopped here for one night on a short weekend trip. Wow is all l can say. The room was crazy big. The total bill for 2 adults and 1 child was $190.37. They had everything you could want in this room. A queen size bed, closet, desk, dresser, and tv in the bedroom. In the living room was a pull out couch, tv, reclining chair, tables. They had a kitchen area with a big fidge, stove, dishwasher, sink, counter area that could be used as a table to eat around. Bathroom was great. Shower was wonderful. They had a pool also. Will go back next time l'm in the area.
I think I would have been happier if we would have gotten the room we reserved which was a 1 bedroom suite. Instead we got a studio, when I brought to attention when we checked in he said they were all taken. That is what I reserved and paid for.... what do you do? Take all your stuff and move? We reserved 2 rooms and my daughter's room had a cover over the top of the recliner chair... kinda creepy. Sheets on bed were so "pilled" and rough that we had to sleep on the top sheet. Kitchen facilities are nice, especially the refridge, all mismatched dishes. They did provide the extra pillows when we asked. Nice pool area and it was clean. Am making another trip to Fort Wayne in couple of weeks, staying somewhere else due to not honoring my reservation.
So they're definitely not to blame for the power outage, but even without it, there's not a load of positives to say about this property. It's in an OK location (good if you're stopping for the night from travel on I-69). The rooms are not terrible, but the bed was average at best, the pillows were far too soft, and the noise level from other rooms and the hallway were far too much. Oh, and it's not too expensive. But next time I'm in the area, I'll pay a bit more and stay at the Hampton. At least I get breakfast there.
We started here because they had a recliner in the room, which I need. We weren't sure from the website, but Derick confirmed what we needed on the phone. When we arrived, the recliner was broken, but Jermaine promptly found another one and brought it in. Outstanding staff at this place. Wheelchair access is excellent (a welcome change) -- aisles on both sides of the bed, roll-in shower, and other items.
I generally stay at Candlewood properties because the rooms are nice, they are conveniently located and most importantly they have a full kitchen if I decide that I want to cook for myself rather than eating out. This Candlewood property provided the standard Candlewood experience. The only downside to my stay was that the WiFi was PAINFULLY slow (think dial up speed) which made it impossible for me to get any work done. Even though the property was nice and the staff was friendly, I will probably stay somewhere else the next time I am in Fort Wayne due to the poor WiFi service at this location.
