This place has potential -- convenient to airport & cruise port, adjacent to beach and intracoastal waterway, cute upscale neighborhood -- but was horribly lacking. We were told check-in was 4 PM. We arrived at 4:40 and the room was still being cleaned. We left and found a place for dinner and returned later. We looked for the pool mentioned, but only found a nice patio with a gas grill. We could only get one a/c unit to work and the place was very warm and humid, then add the weird door between rooms that doesn't block any sound from neighbors who stayed up until after 2 AM, and we had a less than restful night. The unit is sparsely furnished. There were not enough towels for 2 bathrooms. There are no kitchen linens, no potholders, no measuring cups, no baking dishes/Pyrex/cookie sheets. There were pots to boil something in, but forget cooking a real meal or even a frozen pizza. My last two complaints are the most important. The water is dangerously hot and the shower faucet and kitchen sink faucet are easy to accidentally scald. *Do not leave children in this shower unattended.* Lastly, there is a serious mold problem in room #1. When we complained about the a/c, a lady came to get the one in bedroom working. Eeryone was immediately sneezing (including the staff person) and we shut that a/c off again to avoid worse allergy and asthma issues. Then we noticed the picture of a lighthouse on a sandy shore -- it was not a sandy shore, the picture was eaten up with mold! There are so many places to stay in the area and I would not recommend this one to anyone.

I am starting this review off by stating that customer service is paramount. The experience at Casa Coral/Coral Reef was totally unnacceptable. I made a reservation months in advance, in preparation of a family cruise. The place sounded great, and near the beach as well as near the cruise port. . We got to the inn easily from the airport to find out there is no office, or lobby. There was no employee of the inn anywhere. Apparently, we were supposed to have received an email with check-in information. We did not receive anything, other than the automated confirmation from the booking site. The other guests could not have been nicer, and one of them said that they had a problem checking in as well. It is supposed to be easy, with a digicode and a room number and you check yourself in. There was supposed to have been an email sent with this information. We were never sent one. We called the main number and it went to voice mail, and the mailbox was full. The other guest told us he also had never received his confirmation either. He said the cleaning woman had helped him, so he gave us her number. I called her, and she knew my name, so ...they obviously dropped the ball, and neglected to send us the hotel confirmation letter. I was on the phone for over two hours in the dark (it is VERY dimly lit in the courtyard) with a booking agent from the booking site ... dot yeah. they were able to get us into a place that did have a lobby, and great customer service. The booking company cancelled our stay at Casa Coral...bizarre they go by two names!? To this day, there has never been a call, an apology..;.nothing, which is really what this place deserves as a It may be nice, and it may be near the beach, but if you cannot check in, it is worthless.

The unit I rented was clean and close to the beach. But if you’re looking for cozy, this isn’t it. Amenities can go a long way in making a visitor feel comfortable. There wasn’t enough toilet paper, or towels. They were supplied when I called . No washcloths or pots in the kitchen. No line to hang a wet bathing suit. There was a funky smell in the bedroom. The windows do not appear to open. The color and decor in the unit was sparse, drab, mismatched and cold. On the site where I booked, it said there was a pool. No pool here. Had to ask around where it was. Btw, It’s around the corner at Casa Mint. Relieved I’m only staying 2 nights.

The suite is renovated, but is branded as "sleeps 4", and this is inaccurate. Has full sized bed in the bedroom, and a sleeper sofa in the kitchen/living room area. Only 2 tall chairs by the kitchenette, and one in the bedroom. When the sofa is unfolded, there is no more space left, period, and it stretches to only a few feet away from entrance door. Many basic kitchen utensils are missing. The office is at another property, and so is the pool. You have to walk around a block, part of it along a busy road and a construction site, to get there. When we got to the pool, it was filthy, with plastic bags and debris in the water. There were no clean towels anywhere by the pool, the hamper was overflowing, there was no attendant, and no one in the office. The room was never cleaned, even though we specifically requested it as per their rules (see image). Sand gets tracked in and the floor is impossible to clean. The towels are not being changed, we got one small tube of body wash and one of shampoo for all of us for the entire stay. The beach is close, but it is not equiped for sunbathing or swimming. The place is sandwiched between the ocean and the Stranahan river, it us a residential area with many construction sites/uninhabited new houses, and unpaved street segments. Despite the remoteness, it does not spare one from loud music at 11 pm. There is no boardwalk, restaurants, groceries, or shops, anywhere at walking distance. The property offers bikes, but there are no bike lanes and one would be forced to bike on sidewalks or the road to get anywhere. The price is not cheap, and it is a poor deal for the money.

Amazing place and staff! Great rooms with brand new layout! We were offered a earlier check in and a late check out. What more do we need ? Lol We will be back! Make sure you check the beach and restaurants around.

First, let me clarify that this is not a bad place. While our experience could have been better, we observed only the GM and one member of the housekeeping staff for both Coral Reef and the Mint during our two-night stay. They both seemed to stay busy and were friendly yet obviously working hard. Perhaps they were simply short-staffed during our stay. Our room was not ready by the 3:00 p.m., so we waited around for a half-hour, then went to Hollywood Beach. By 5:00 p.m. when we returned, the room had been straightened, not deep cleaned, but we still had no towels or wash cloths for the bathroom nor paper towels for the kitchen. The housekeeper brought them soon after we settled in. She promised to bring fresh ones the next day, but we didn’t get them. She was very nice, though, just overworked by our estimation, and even stopped her work to print my friend’s boarding passes before we left. The photos I’ve attached tell most of the story, so I will simply list pros and cons: Pros: • A block to an uncrowded section of the beach. • The Jr. suite was roomy and updated, and except for lack of a dishwasher, garbage disposal, kitchen towels and dish cloths, was well-equipped and had a good-sized TV in the living room and bedroom. WiFi was okay. • Price was reasonable for high season in the FLL area. • Parking in front of building, beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes are included with the extra mandatory fee of $25. Parking is expensive around here and some properties make you find a spot in a lot or use metered street parking, so it isn't a bad deal. • Nice hot water, especially good for washing dishes before we used them since there is no dishwasher or other way to sanitize them. • No smoking, no pets – good for those of us with allergies and asthma (the dust was another story). Cons: • Room wasn’t ready at advertised check-in time. Staff is not on property 24/7. • Check-in is at another property (the Mint) a block away. Difficult to drive to with construction on one side, a one-way street on the other, and no short-cuts or pathway for walking between private homes to get to it off the street. The pool is at the Mint. • Not easily accessible for disabled, with steps going from driveway to first floor and more steps to the second. • No luggage carts, room phone, paper or pen. • Bathroom had scum on tile, hair in sink, hair and crud around base of toilet and goop running down the near the towel bar. Baseboards, blinds and ceiling fans were very dusty throughout suite. Fingerprints and food smears on stainless steel appliances. Coffee maker was very dirty. We booked this because so many reviewers mentioned the cleanliness. Either we hit it at a bad time, or the terra-cotta tile, dark grout and dark wood hides a lot. • Sleeper sofa mattress cover had a big urine stain. The mattress itself collapsed into a V-shape with my 115-pound body, rolling me toward the accursed stain I was trying to avoid, and it was extremely uncomfortable. • The adjoining door didn’t block sound. We had loud, arguing neighbors and could hear every word, even when they weren’t shouting. • Perhaps we could have walked to a restaurant on A1A, but the construction and traffic kept us from trying. Too far to walk to the Hollywood Broadwalk. The restaurants by the pier might have been a stretch, although do-able, but it was too cold and windy for us to want to try.

We stayed here after 2 days staying at their other hotel (The Mint), and we have to say: It was just as good as our first stay! I cannot beat the view and the 1 block distance from the beach! Staff was great! They even gave us some beach chairs, towels and umbrellas for the beach. Parking was free! YES, FREE! We stayed at some hotels around hollywood beach, and most of them charge you for parking. This is our new favorite place! A big shout out for Fabio, New manager who were very friendly and made us feel like home!

Pros: Just a short walk to a little beach, complimentary bikes for a nice ride to the Hollywood boardwalk (bikes weren't great though...mine had no brakes), they were kind enough to let us check in early. Cons: The sofa bed was terrible, there were no kitchen towels or potholders and no dishwasher, we couldn't find a remote for the TV in the bedroom, hairs in the sink and on the bed pillow, generally not very clean, and a noisy party outside that lasted until 4:00 am! Cons outweigh the Pros for us. We were glad our reservation was only for one night.

This place far exceeded my expectations! It has recently been remodeled so everything is new. There was plenty of parking & it is located right off Ocean Drive so nothing is too far yet it is surprisingly quiet. I wish I didn't have to leave!!!

Only to sleep, nothing else. Close to the beach, In Hollywood. The recepcion close everyday at 5 pm oclock. The first day we arrived late and was so difficult to find the keys, because de the keys were in another building. In this building, there isnt swimming pool.
