Good sized room, but the bathroom was dated. Breakfast wasn’t particularly healthy (although they did have fruit, why no unsugared chocolate-free muesli ? ) . The breakfast room has an amazing view but is a bit of a soulless tent on the side of the hotel. In the summer they put you on the amazing terrace overlooking Florence. They have a shuttle bus but if you’re fit you can walk to the Uffizi in 25 minutes and back uphill in 30. Friendly staff but not a five star hotel. Decent value for money though and they have free parking . WiFi speed was good. We would return.
1) Although the view is amazing, every single night there was an évent on the Terrace, which meant that we could not use it during the night / sunset... really lost a lot of the charm 2) A bit far from historical center (25 min walking); they offer a transfer every hour which helps though. The other option is a táxi which Costs ~12-15 euro to center 3) Hardly a 5 star hotel. Service is basic, rooms are just ok - really really expensive for what it offers 4) Wifi basically inexistent inside the room 5) Other smaller issues, but that were not up tô the standard of a 5 star: i) shower was one of those "hand held" and did not have pressure; ii) toilet paper was one sheet; iii) we were on our honeymoon and we were not offered not even a glass of wine or a note of congratulations, this was the only hotel during our entire trip thru Italy which gave us that kind of treatment 6) Food and drinks on the hotel are pretty expensive: 10 euro for a basic glass of wine, 15 euro Aperol Spritzer (in the bar on Piazzale Michelangiolo - a pretty popular viewpoint 5 min walking - costs 8 euro for the Aperol Beautiful property and stunning view of Firenze, spécially the sunset. Really worth the trip to the tower The night recepcionist (forgot his name, think is Gabriele) was very nice and helpful, gave us a fantastic restaurant recommendation
This is an amazing, beautiful boutique hotel that has the best views of Florence! The rooms are large and very comfortable. You feel like your away from the city but your are only 10-15 minutes away from the city center. Marcella the Reservation Manager was so amazing, she helped us with everything from transportation to directions to booking tours for us. The breakfast that was included with the room rate was amazing! The restaurant was fantastic too. Great service, all the servers were so attentive. I would definitely stay here again!
Our family stayed at this lovely property. Nice buffet breakfast included. Staff very helpful courtesy and friendly. If you are looking for a small, quite and quaint boutique hotel, this is the place!!! Location was perfect and lovely views from every corner of this property. Book well in advance, it has only 18 rooms!
We paid £300 a night at Villa La Vedetta. We were in the annex in a room with no windows - just a glass door. The room was run down, dark, no wifi and rather small. I thought it was incredibly overpriced. The rest of the hotel was lovely and the food was outstanding.
My buddy had his wedding here and I was blown away. Even if not getting married here the hotel screams high end and relaxing. Whether you are pool side or on the terrace I would like to stay here next time I'm here.
My husband and I live in Canada and decided to get married at Villa La Vedetta in Florence after seeing pictures of the hotel in a magazine. Having never been to Florence, we needed a lot of help with vendors, transportation and someone to marry us. Planning a wedding can be stressful but planning one from overseas in a place we've never been was definitely a challenge..until we found Alina. Alina is the Event Manager at Villa La Vedetta and the most helpful, organized and wonderful person we had the pleasure of dealing with. Alina recommended excellent vendors and an officiant to work with us, answered a million email questions we had, organized every little detail on the day (including space for the Bridal party to get ready in). She was our lifesaver and we would never have had our more than perfect wedding day if it wasn't for her! It was quite windy on our wedding day and the staff were able to move the ceremony location seamlessly and without disrupting any of the guests. The servers and bar tender were spectacular, so kind, accommodating and a dream to work with. The venue itself is breathtaking. Coming through the beautiful front gates down the tree lined path, the beautiful ivy covered hotel sits in front of you at the foot of a serene garden (perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony). As you walk into the main entrance, there is a library/sitting room on one side and the reception on the other. You can see straight through to the back terrace. Walking out onto that terrace for the first time, all I could think was the pictures didn't do it justice. It must be the most beautiful view in Florence. We used a room on the second floor for myself and the bridal party to get ready. Everything from the washroom, to the beautiful big bed and the double french doors that open onto the private terrace was beyond what we could have expected. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Villa La Vedetta. Every detail was just perfect. We cannot wait to go back and visit Alina and the staff. This place will always hold a very special place in our hearts and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to share our special day in such a wonderful place with our friends and family.
I have just returned from four nights at the Villa La Vedetta Hotel in Florence. IT is a small hotel with 18 rooms and provides discreet luxury. Everything worked seamlessly, the shuttle bus picked us up from Pisa Airport with no worry or waiting and there was a latter awaiting us with the exact time to be taken back at the end of the holiday. The room was spotless and all the food we ate there was lovely (the hotel serves complimentary tea and pastries at 4.00 each afternoon)but undoubtedly the best thing about the hotel was the extraordinary view from the garden across Florence and the Dome. There is a lovely pool so you can plan a morning of sightseeing with a relaxing afternoon dip in the heat of the day
Florence tends to be very crowded and tiring with never ending herds of tourists. I was so happy when we came to this hotel! It is a proper oasis, just 5 minutes by car (or a private hotel's shuttle service that goes to and from city centre every hour) from the city centre. Amazing views, classy and bautiful villa and interiors, friendly and helpful staff. Parking available on site. The breakfast terrace and buffet/a-la carte was very tasty and there is a lot of choice. The swimming pool is a great touch, I would recommend visiting during the warm months to enjoy it fully. Living on the Florence hill with a view, having a relaxed day by the pool with a book and going to town when the heat is over, for a stroll and dinner - this is a perfect vacation! A tiny disappointment was the club located close to the hotel, I was struggling to fall asleep until 2am on a Sunday. However, after googling it was Flo Florence, I regret not going there and joining the fun... Would highly recommend, great value for money and atmosphere.
The hotel is located on a hillside with the unbeatable views of Florence. Rooms are comfortable and a good size. The bed linen was changed daily. Bathrooms look lavish but we were unimpressed by the flexing plastic bath and the shower curtain, some attention needed here. The Hotel has a good sized triple aspect lounge that serves free tea and biscuits in the late afternoon. The restaurant and bar are located in a basement that has an unimpressive stair case and passage leading to it. However, the outside areas are fantastic with a great terrace and lovely pools. The restaurant also has a covered patio area that is very pleasant. Food is great quality. Would stay again, but wonder whether the cost is justified.
