I booked a dinner at Villa La Vedetta some time ago and we have since booked another dinner here due to the amazing service and food at this lovely hotel. I have not yet had the chance to stay here, but the venue is breathtaking in a beautiful city. The staff are incredible and you can see that they really care that you have a good time and enjoy the atmosphere and food. Thanks to all. Fantastic venue.
We stayed here from March 10 thru March 14th and it truly wasn't long enough. (I apologize for being so late with the review). The hotel is on a hill overlooking the city with a spectacular view. When we arrived, we were greeted by the warmest, friendliest, and most accommodating person I have ever experienced in a hotel--Marcella! She was simply wonderful and helped us with everything. She recommended some wonderful restaurants and suggested some great places to see as well as shop. We already had plans in place to visit various vineyards throughout Tuscany, however, Marcella really helped us fill in the gaps with other things to do and see. The other hotel staff were amazing as well. The girls that served breakfast in the morning were wonderful, the breakfast was excellent with so many choices on the buffet as well as the ability to order eggs, omelets, or pancakes in addition. Our room (suite with a terrace) was very nice--yes, I agree they are a bit dated, however, they had everything you could possibly need. When we traveled on to other cities during our trip, the hotels we stayed at did not have nearly the friendly, warm service or the extra little touches like Villa La Vedetta did. We used the free shuttle that took us down to right near the Ponte Vecchio bridge which was very convenient. Probably, our most major complaint was the mattresses were extremely firm and because we are used to something a little softer, we found the mattress uncomfortable, however, when we asked about possibly being moved to a different room with maybe a different mattress, the staff was quite wonderful at giving us a chance to see if the other rooms had beds that were any better for us. As for the views from the hotel--they were absolutely stunning! We would love to come back in warmer weather (it pretty much rained and was cold during our stay) so that we can enjoy having breakfast or tea on the wonderful terrace, or relax by the swimming pool that is on the property. We did also eat in the restaurant upon our arrival, and the food was very good. All in all, if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay that is not in the heart of busy Florence, but has amazing views and accessibility to the city and a wonderful staff to take care of you, then you must give Villa la Vedetta a try. They hardest thing about our stay was leaving and saying goodbye to our new dear friend Marcella.
We were at first attracted by the location of this picturesque villa. When we arrived, the location was completed with the beauty of the room, of the view, and especially the behavior of the personnel. As we celebrated our wedding anniversary, a prosecco was waiting for us in the room! We appreciated a lot the attention for a perfect Tuscan villa room, and the sweet treat we had every evening! The Italian garden and the birds singing in the middle of Florence! Appreciation for the personnel, but especially for Valentina, very kind and helpful! Definitely we promise to come back and live again the Florence dream!
What a retreat is the Villa da Vedetta in Florence. With a beautiful view over the city of Florence. The suites are very cosy and good. The bed just perfect. Service polite and friendly.Breakfast very good. The restaurant is fine. At this time of the season only limit menus. The bus service is ok.House keeping is very good.
Amazing hotel! Breathtaking, beautiful, romantic views from the terrace to the rooms. The staff was amazing, attentive and catered to our every need. The hotel was clean, and beautiful! Eating on the patio overlooking the city was beyond delightful. And it is only a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, but they do offer shuttle service. I would highly recommend this hotel!
We spent three nights recently at this fabulous place. Very well maintained, spotlessly clean, fabulous views overlooking all of Florence. Very friendly staff (reception, restaurant, breakfast, free shuttle service to city)...wonderful! Excellent buffet breakfast in a fabulous setting. Very good restaurant (we ate their twice; once for lunch and once for dinner). Quiet room but only 10-15 minutes to Ponte Vecchio either by free shuttle bus or easy walk. Hoping to return later this year!
wonderful experience, amazing hospitality. As there model real people real hospitality indeed, thank you for the wonderful time. The staff were really friendly. The villa has one of the best views of the city, i will recommend to go up to the roof and see the view from there.
Charming and quaint, Villa la Vedetta sits on a hilltop above Florence. A romantic view of the city and sunset can be seen from the room. Every morning we ate breakfast on the terrace of the hotel (accessible to all hotel guests) and enjoyed the breathtaking view. This hotel is a little older but still charming in its own way. The views make up for the imperfections in furniture and lack of amenities. If you will be out exploring the city all day and you would like to wake up to a breathtaking view of Florence every morning, this is a great hotel. Note: if you are staying the weekend, it is very likely that there will be weddings at this locations, but the hotel has a strict policy about the music being shut off at a certain time (I believe it was 10:30 or 11pm). Events quiet down very quickly and it was usually when we would get back to the hotel from dinner in the city.
If you could rate a hotel 4.5 stars then I would give Villa La Vedetta that rating as there are a few small tweaks I think the hotel needs to make but i give it 5 stars as its generally a wonderful place to stay if you visit Florence. The hotel is a 20 minute walk down to Ponte Vecchio bridge (a nice walk down by the river) but is stiuated around 5 minutes from the main statue at the top of the hill but is a beautiful old building which oozes class and stature. The rooms could do with being slightly updated but the main rooms and breakfast areas are beautiful and the breakfast itself is lovely. I can imagine the hotel being very lovely to stay within warmer months as they have a lovely outdoor pool but the staff are very helpful and engaging and do as much for you as they can. I proposed to my wife on the roof terrace some 10 years ago at Villa La Vedetta and we were really pleased to come back. If you are looking for a small, boutique hotel in Florence which is old school but full of class then take a look at Villa La Vedetta
I booked 3 nights at this amazing hotel beautifully positioned on the hillside overlooking the stunning city of Florence. Very romantic setting. The staff were so obliging helping me to surprise my partner by reserving the roof top terrace at sunset and dressing the space so beautifully. Can’t thank them enough! You should really try it. Ideal to access all the wonders of Florence too!!!
