We paid £300 a night at Villa La Vedetta. We were in the annex in a room with no windows - just a glass door. The room was run down, dark, no wifi and rather small. I thought it was incredibly overpriced. The rest of the hotel was lovely and the food was outstanding.

My buddy had his wedding here and I was blown away. Even if not getting married here the hotel screams high end and relaxing. Whether you are pool side or on the terrace I would like to stay here next time I'm here.

My husband and I live in Canada and decided to get married at Villa La Vedetta in Florence after seeing pictures of the hotel in a magazine. Having never been to Florence, we needed a lot of help with vendors, transportation and someone to marry us. Planning a wedding can be stressful but planning one from overseas in a place we've never been was definitely a challenge..until we found Alina. Alina is the Event Manager at Villa La Vedetta and the most helpful, organized and wonderful person we had the pleasure of dealing with. Alina recommended excellent vendors and an officiant to work with us, answered a million email questions we had, organized every little detail on the day (including space for the Bridal party to get ready in). She was our lifesaver and we would never have had our more than perfect wedding day if it wasn't for her! It was quite windy on our wedding day and the staff were able to move the ceremony location seamlessly and without disrupting any of the guests. The servers and bar tender were spectacular, so kind, accommodating and a dream to work with. The venue itself is breathtaking. Coming through the beautiful front gates down the tree lined path, the beautiful ivy covered hotel sits in front of you at the foot of a serene garden (perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony). As you walk into the main entrance, there is a library/sitting room on one side and the reception on the other. You can see straight through to the back terrace. Walking out onto that terrace for the first time, all I could think was the pictures didn't do it justice. It must be the most beautiful view in Florence. We used a room on the second floor for myself and the bridal party to get ready. Everything from the washroom, to the beautiful big bed and the double french doors that open onto the private terrace was beyond what we could have expected. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Villa La Vedetta. Every detail was just perfect. We cannot wait to go back and visit Alina and the staff. This place will always hold a very special place in our hearts and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to share our special day in such a wonderful place with our friends and family.

I have just returned from four nights at the Villa La Vedetta Hotel in Florence. IT is a small hotel with 18 rooms and provides discreet luxury. Everything worked seamlessly, the shuttle bus picked us up from Pisa Airport with no worry or waiting and there was a latter awaiting us with the exact time to be taken back at the end of the holiday. The room was spotless and all the food we ate there was lovely (the hotel serves complimentary tea and pastries at 4.00 each afternoon)but undoubtedly the best thing about the hotel was the extraordinary view from the garden across Florence and the Dome. There is a lovely pool so you can plan a morning of sightseeing with a relaxing afternoon dip in the heat of the day

Florence tends to be very crowded and tiring with never ending herds of tourists. I was so happy when we came to this hotel! It is a proper oasis, just 5 minutes by car (or a private hotel's shuttle service that goes to and from city centre every hour) from the city centre. Amazing views, classy and bautiful villa and interiors, friendly and helpful staff. Parking available on site. The breakfast terrace and buffet/a-la carte was very tasty and there is a lot of choice. The swimming pool is a great touch, I would recommend visiting during the warm months to enjoy it fully. Living on the Florence hill with a view, having a relaxed day by the pool with a book and going to town when the heat is over, for a stroll and dinner - this is a perfect vacation! A tiny disappointment was the club located close to the hotel, I was struggling to fall asleep until 2am on a Sunday. However, after googling it was Flo Florence, I regret not going there and joining the fun... Would highly recommend, great value for money and atmosphere.

The hotel is located on a hillside with the unbeatable views of Florence. Rooms are comfortable and a good size. The bed linen was changed daily. Bathrooms look lavish but we were unimpressed by the flexing plastic bath and the shower curtain, some attention needed here. The Hotel has a good sized triple aspect lounge that serves free tea and biscuits in the late afternoon. The restaurant and bar are located in a basement that has an unimpressive stair case and passage leading to it. However, the outside areas are fantastic with a great terrace and lovely pools. The restaurant also has a covered patio area that is very pleasant. Food is great quality. Would stay again, but wonder whether the cost is justified.

This is an outstanding hotel. The views are one of a kind, it is silent and the entire setup is perfect. Now I must admit the view from my room was nice but I could not see most of Florence HOWEVER all I had to do was take a very short walk to the patio and Florence was all mine.(I should also point out that I was a bargain traveler and found a deal and the other folks at this hotel were very,VERY rich. Came home one night and the place was crawling with cops and private security....some big time Japanese gentlemen) The staff was too helpful for my taste but I have a problem with people waiting on me. The breakfast was great but I hardly remember what I ate AS THE VIEWS BLOW YOUR MIND. Warning the cabbies in Florence make the mafia look like boy scouts. So i used the hotel shuttle when I could and walked the rest of the time. I am in good shape and the walk up the hill is tough...figure out the bus systems it will save you cash and arguing with the cabbies.

OK, my wife and I love this place. Small mixup on where to pick us up in town via the shuttle, but were given a room where we could lay in bed and see the Duomo. Pool is fantastic, terrace for breakfast is fantastic, dinner at their restaurant is fantastic. Shuttle into town if you need it. Will be going back as soon as we possibly can.

Wow! One of our favorite stays while in Italy without a doubt... Our room was certainly updated and quite large, with a spacious bathroom as well. The hotel is so quaint and beautiful... as if you owned this beautiful villa over looking the city of Florence. The room had two large windows that opened to allow the fresh air and sounds of birds enter into the room. There was a wedding in the front courtyard while we were there. We had lunch and then the most romantic candlelit dinner outside, with wonderful service and great food while being serenaded by frogs in the lily pond, breezes bringing with it the scent of jasmine surrounding the courtyard... watching the sunset over Florence and behind the Santa Croce Basilica and Santa Maria Cathedral. Close enough for a quick (complimentary) ride into bustling Florence, but just far enough to escape into the beautiful countryside where there is a sidewalk and tree lined streets overlooking the city. Just down from Piazzale Michelangiolo where there are crowds to see the same view we had in the courtyard! The breakfasts were fantastic. They had everything you could ask for, and even prepared omelettes per our request. It would be hard to imagine a nicer or more wonderful setting.

Nice little elegant hotel, friendly and very helpful staff, great location with a stunning view over Florence. Swimming pool and garden was exceptional. We booked the "Romantic double room" the size was small but well decorated and very clean. The bathroom was very very big and luxury. Loved the breakfast was amazing and enjoyed the view very much. You can park your car in villa's beautiful garden safely and free. Hotel is located in a very nice area and right next to the popular Michelangelo square. We also enjoyed the little public park down the Michelangelo square. 20 minutes walking distance to the old town and we enjoyed the walk very much but if you do not like to walk the hotel offers a free shuttle. I would recommend this place to anyone - you will not regret it!
