We found everything as described on the website and in the most recent reviews (excellent location, sleep quality, homemade breakfast). The reason I'm writing this review is because I wish to recommend booking through the hotel's own website. Not only did we get better rates than with Booking (we previously had made the reservation through them), but we also got a room upgrade (we travelled during low season, in March). We found their payment terms and cancellation policy very satisfying (they pre-authorized our card 3 days before arrival, and they charged it the last day), and we also got 10 percent off for our 3 nights-stay (this offer seems to be available all throughout the year). We don't normally book properties directly, in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises, but we were very glad we did it this time, because everything turned out really well. We hope to stay again at Corte dei Medici, the next time we visit Florence!
Stayed 5 nights at the Corte dei Medici and it was one of the greatest hotel experiences I've had ! The hotel is small, and that gives it, along with the nice staff, a very home-like feeling... Breakfast is served at the top floor and the breakfast room has good views of the Piazza di San Lorenzo, and the breakfast feels home made too... Very recommended ! Best regards to Nina (a member of the staff) from my Nona :D
We had booked a basic room and although clean and quiet, was very hot as air con not on yet. The next day we were upgraded for free to a beautiful spacious room with a lovely view. The breakfast was good, large selection of hot and cold food. The breads, butter, jams and cakes were all homemade. When you came back in the day, there were cakes and coffee and various flavored cold waters such as lemon and ginger etc. The staff were very kind and caring. Certainly recommend this hotel.
We are an italian young couple, we spent a weekend in Florence and we stayed at the Corte Dei Medici hotel. Our review is super positive. If you're looking for a small place, with all comforts, kind and available staff, that's the right place. Our room was very big, cozy, with a large and comfortable private bathroom. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed very much our stay in Florence at this place. We recommend this place.
We stayed at this hotel for a few nights. You could not tell from the outside, but our room was beautiful. Definitely very spacious by European standards, with modern amenities. Also, staff was very helpful and accommodating.
A really nice hotel which has a perfect location in the very heart of Florence. The people working there are very friendly and speak English very well. Good breakfast, nice rooms and a setvice minded staff. Strongly recommended.
The location and remodeled rooms were a nice surprise along the staff that went all the way to make sure I had a pleasant experience there. Big room for European standard at a great price. San Lorenzo basilica is right across the street from the hotel and leather good shopping right around the corner.
a very well-located hotel in the heart of Florence, with a warm room and a select breakfast. very good coffee. very friendly staff. good price .Florence very nice with many top attractions. The hotel is located very close to train station
I stayed here for 6 nights at the end of Nov. First time I’ve stayed in a hotel without a reception on ground floor, so no one to help with luggage?? Reception staff were friendliest I’ve experienced in any hotel in Italy...! Angie was terrific and thank you for booking my day tour to Venice which I loved Phillipo helped with a taxi and my bags downstairs as I had to leave for the airport at 4am Downside:.....!! My room overlooked the side street which was very noisy till mostly 2am most nights! It’s also the street they pull the market trolleys along at night to store and about 8am every morning to set up!! Front facing rooms would be as noisy I had to keep the window open for air as the air conditioning wasn’t working & my room was very stuffy even in Winter....very mild weather though. I had a lot of sleepless nights due to all of this Location is great next to Medici Chapels but very noisy
This hotel is in a very convenient location to explore Florence and is near shops, restaurants and the market and the train station is only a ten minute walk away. It's quite small offering bed and breakfast but plans are in place to expand. We were in a standard room which could be noisy at night and early morning but if you shut the windows it is really quite quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable with a large tv but not much hanging space for clothes. The bathroom was narrow but clean and modern and had everything you would want including a shower with plenty of hot water. There are tea/coffee making facilities but no milk which wasn't a problem. Just pop along to reception which is outside the breakfast/kitchen area and whoever's on duty will be happy to get some fresh milk for you. The choices on offer for breakfast were very good, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, nuts, yoghurt, a variety of cakes and a selection of bread and rolls. There was some hot food and a toaster. Everything was help yourself buffet but tea and coffee was brought to our table. It was Graham's birthday while we were there and a small cake with a candle was brought out for him at breakfast and the kitchen staff all came out and sung Happy Birthday to him which was a kind thought and one we appreciated. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Not a luxurious hotel but very good value for money and it would be good to revisit once the renovations are complete.
