I stayed at this hotel because my Employer booked it for me in advance by credit card so on the second day at mid day the reception phoned my room and advised that it is time for check out. I told them that my flight is at midnight and I would like to stay till 10 pm as I need to complete my presentation at the meeting for Program National Directors in Singapore in two days time. They told me that I have to check out because my room is only paid for one day only. I assured them that I will pay the extra when I checked out at ten pm tonight as I am busy preparing my presentation for the meeting in Singapore. The receptionist insisted that I pay straight away otherwise I have to leave the room. I went down and produced my ANZ Debit card for payment in advance for FD 126 for only a few hours (less than 12 hours) which is equivalent to one day's charge. They used the NSW machine to transfer funds from my savings account to theirs and to my surprise, that machine did not recognise my ANZ Debit cards and instantly the Indian senior receptionist (Indian woman) told me that I have no money and shall check out immediately.( Note: A similar incident occurred at the Airport duty free shop when I used that same ANZ visa card for purchasing, but luckily there ia an ANZ ATM machine at duty free shop and managed to withdrew FD 500 for my Sanyo Mobile phone) I asked that senior receptionist if they can provide a transport to Nadi International Airport so I can use the ANZ ATM machine there to take out Fiji money for paying for the extra whole day's charge of FJD 136 instead of the 10 hrs I stayed at Trans International Hotel. I return with the Fiji money and told the Indian lady (Senior receptionist) that I have the money but their NSW machine is no good) They accepted the money greedily and let me stay for an extra 10 hours So I advise that no normal person should stay there as they are desperate for cash and do not care about customer service.
My wife and I stayed at the Trans International Hotel on our last night in Fiji. We picked it because of its price and proximity to the airport. Our mistake was (1) picking this hotel and (2) booking (prepaying) online. This was the worst experience, by far, of our three-week trip. Upon arrival, we were told our booking wasn't valid and that we would need to book (and pay for) new rooms. Fortunately, we had thought to bring PRINTED copies of our reservations so they honored the original booking but required us to pay an additional fee to get our rooms. They claimed that the booking service (Hotels.com) had under-charged us and we needed to pay the difference. Baloney! As others have mentioned, there's no elevator. To make matters worse, the floors were wet (it had been raining) so not only did we have to carry our own luggage up the stairs but we had to traverse slippery floors to get to our room in the far back of the building. Ugh! The room itself was fairly large but sparsely furnished giving the feeling that this may once have been a nice hotel but is now an economy operation. In order to turn the lights on, you need to insert your room key into this slot thing by the door. Electricity must be expensive as this keeps you from leaving the lights on when you leave the room. The shower was ok. We had issues with the TV. My wife spent some time in the pool and said it was ok. After our experience checking in, the thought of dining at this hotel was removed from consideration. There's a hotel within walking distance (closer to the airport) that offers good food. The WiFi was reasonably good but only in the lobby. On the back side of the lobby (the side facing the pool), there are four seats and a coffee table where you can surf and park your laptop. Other than that, your options are to sit on the floor or stand while surfing. Zero connectivity anywhere else in the hotel. Bottom line: Best to stay some place else.
The rooms are disgusting -bathrooms are covered in mould, lights don't work, sheets are dirty and threadbare, mattresses are old lumpy falling apart at the edges and can feel every spring. I felt cleaner by not even showering. Would not recommend this place at all. It's disgraceful! And worse the staff don't seem to care.
One towel, no bedside lamps, small TV that did not work, large active cockroaches, unclean facilities and water leaking on to bathroom floor, food just passable. No lift, staff helpful - definately a NOT to be repeated place to stay experience. Did provide shuttle bus to airport which was useful.
We booked before we went there but upon arrival we found our booking wasnt there so we had to upgrade to deluxe room with spa n stuff which didnt work.then there were no towels.someone came with one towel after 20 minutes saying other towels are wet.then your bathroom was filthy as smelling of cockroaches until coming back from dinner we saw so many in the bathroom.some staff came with hit spray which killed a few which we saw in the morning.no utensils to make tea and stuff.and after checking out we found one cockroach in my wifes handbag.staffs are unproffessional and not very helpful.worst mistake of my life, pathetic and il make sure non of my friends and families stay there ever...dont know if all these reviews reach them or not so they can improve their service.
So.. let me begin by saying that im a frequent traveller to fiji and being close to the airport from tokatoka hotel and raffles... which were fully booked.... we decided to try this hotel...omg biggest mistake that we made....and dont let the beautiful lobby fool you with polished marble tiles..we paid for a deluxe room....but there was no Porter to help..so we carried our bags up 2 flights of stairs.. entered the non secure locked room... very spacious though.... to the left was the large bathroom.. decked out with an enormous spa bath....then .back to the enormous sized main room a king size bed and king single with equipped with a cheap setting coffee table for 2 a 14inch tv.. a broken air conditioner and 1 power outlet... Bathroom ..the toilet and spa bath were filthy I called the reception and asked for cleaning materials so I could scrub the tub that had hair and dirt encrusted ...then there were no bath towels... . After cleaning the tub and having a shower we realized that the shower spat out drips of water which leaked through to the floor.. couldn't even use the spa bath....there was no soap or hair dryer which are standard commodities in a hotel... the safe was already locked.. so I couldn't store our valuables inside... and the pillows on the king bed were filthy with old makeup stains.... I could go on and on bit i won't... i just wanted to let anybody know that their money spent here could be spent in a much cleaner and comforting hotel.. The next day we checked in to mecure hotel which is my hotel of choice... cheaper.. cleaner... and friendlier. Working for an airlines I stay in a variety of accommodation... good or bad I will have my opinion....so If you travel to Nadi Fiji DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME AT THIS HOTEL.
We stayed in room 101 earlier this week. Room was clean, staff were helpful only problem was the air conditioning unit keeps going off. However staff fixed it and we enjoyed our stay. Hotel provides an airport shuttle which is an added bonus
We spent 3 different nights at the hotel. The advantage is it is at a walking distance from the airport, there is a free shuttle. The staff at the reception is not always helpful. The restaurant is so so and we were only 3 guests Once the had dinner at the Gateway hotel just beside and it was much more nice
Once upon a time this might have been a nice hotel with the interior attempting to create the impression of grandeur but... The lobby boy only found the room after the third attempt The air con wasn't working but at least dehumidified the air While the lobby boy tried to find the air con remote I killed 3 cockroaches. TV remote was never found Shower had very low pressure, leaked everywhere and no soap or shampoo was provided, however upon request a weeks supply was brought in... Nice pool and friendly staff
This would have to be the worst place I have ever stayed in! Not clean, horrible smell in room, wouldn't swim in the pool, pool area terrible, no wifi in room (they state there is) rude staff. The only positive is that is practically on the runway so very convenient if you need to be at the airport early. We had a room on the third floor and at 9.30pm the bar underneath started blasting the music...nowhere did it state our room would be above a nightclub. I would nearly suggest sleeping at the airport over staying here!
