So much potential yet watch out
We booked the mansion in Fiac for a two week family summer holiday with a guests age range of 2 to 67. It is a beautifully secluded house and incredibly private. Lavaur is only 10 minutes drive away with a local Saturday market, local shops and 2 large supermarkets (Super U is better than Intermarche).
The house had so much potential, however the details in the advert are not correct and when we flagged these to the owner they did not seem remotely concerned:
* 6 bedrooms – there are only 5 bedrooms (yes it sleeps 12 but you would need to have people sleeping on single beds in the corner of rooms with double beds)
* 9 bathrooms (4 bathrooms & 5 half baths) – there are 2 full ensuite bathrooms (shower/bath, loo and basin), 2 bedrooms which have showers/baths/basins (but no loos), 2 standalone loos, and 1 bedroom with a basin.
Other things that are advertised but we found disappointing so would like to flag to anyone looking to book so you don’t have the same unsatisfactory experience we did:
* Barbecue – see photo in review, this was not clean or in a usable condition
* Kitchen – mouldy food left in the kitchen and it needed a thorough clean before it could be used. The grill also does not work in the oven
* Glasses – not enough wine glasses for the number of guests
* Ping pong table – it was broken, and broken bats were provided, there was no net
* No towels or pool towels provided – this is not advertised but we felt bath towels as minimum would be provided
* No bed
