I was in a room at the end of the hall (117) next to the exit. All night long people were in and out of the door which squeaked very loudly, and slammed shut with every entrance and exit. It was so loud that it just kept waking me. I could every person who was walking down the hall (and there were a lot!). When I went to get a shuttle to the airport, I waited 40 minutes as they only had one driver. Thankfully, my flight had gotten delayed, as I only made it to the airport 10 minutes before boarding.

From check-in to check-out, all the staff at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge were warm, welcoming and accommodating. My first staff encounter was with the driver for the airport shuttle who welcomed me to Fairbanks and made my short drive to the hotel comfortable and engaging. Entering into the main lobby you get a bit of a rustic feel, which I appreciated very much and is one reason I chose this location over a chain hotel. It felt like it was part of Fairbanks and its history instead of an added afterthought and the wall hangings and decor add to this feel. The front desk staff welcomed me with smiles and made sure I knew where to go to get to my room. The room I got was very clean and spacious. I was actually very surprised and pleased with how much space was in the room! The Pike’s Waterfront Lodge has several on property activities that you can participate in, and if I had a longer trip I definitely would have checked them out. I have stayed at my fair share of hotels, inns and lodges across the US and the UK and when it comes to breakfast, especially FREE breakfast, I’ve got to say, the breakfast at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge ranks in the top 3 on my list and I happily ate it on both mornings I was there. The OJ was fresh and refreshing and the home fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be returning to Pike’s Waterfront Lodge!

Clean, attractive, close to airport, and nice staff. I loved the view of the Chena River, outdoor fireplaces, and aurora viewing room, though we didn't see the aurora due to clouds. Those were nice features and there were many others as well. I would recommend it and would also stay there again.

This was a great hotel. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. They have dinning and an ice cream social. There was a great library room. A movie room with a movie about the northern lights. A room with a pool table and even a glass viewing room if the northern lights are visible to see. Id highly recommend this hotel, you cant go wrong.

Felt like a mountain resort--liked the atmosphere of the outdoors with fire pits, places to sit, and quirky spaceman (Aurora?). The lobby was comfortable with fireplace, seating, small bar, and great artwork. I did NOT like the room. The view was the roof of the laundry. I do not know why we weren't told nor given a discount for the worst room of entire hotel. Avoid Room 216. (Will post photo of I can.)
