Stacy was a very communicative host. The house is in a great location for walking to the beach, the house is super well appointed for beach going and cooking. The outdoor spaces are great, the furniture is nice, etc. I could go on and on, but there’s a big BUT…
There was one major issue with our stay, and that was the AC. Upon arrival on Thursday, the house was pretty warm on the main level (thermostat read 74), but brutally hot upstairs (where 2 bedrooms are, likely in the mid 80’s). There is only one thermostat, on the main level, in the main bedroom. We cranked the AC down to 67 to try to cool it down in time for bed, but it didn’t work and the upstairs couples suffered. We kept the house at 67 all day Friday while at the beach, with blinds closed, and it was finally cool Friday night! Woohoo! Then on Saturday, we kept it there again. But when we got back from the beach on Saturday, the house was very warm again… upon checking, the AC unit had iced over. Stacy immediately dispatched someone with portable AC units, and they were installed in less than 2 hours, which was very helpful. However, the house was not cooled down enough to sleep until almost 1 am. The AC guy came to inspect the unit as well, and found the 2 air intakes had issues. 1 filter was filthy, like it hadn’t been changed in years. And the other didn’t even have an air filter. The AC guy thinks the clogged filter contributed to the icing over of the AC unit.
We would stay again if the AC was fixed.
