An awesome budget option! We booked three rooms for four days and had a wonderful stay. It’s great for the value, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful! The rooms are comfortable and clean, AC units are excellent, beds are very comfortable, and we had no water issues (in fact the showers have excellent hot water). They even have filtered water stations on each floor for drinking, too. We booked our tours through the hotel as well and had the best time. It’s very close to Lio airport and they offer van service. All our rooms had WiFi (free) which was convenient! We also appreciated the included breakfast. We walked to the shops, day tours, and great restaurants for dinner. Definitely got our money’s worth, so if you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel, book here!!!
I've just been to El Nido from July 31, 2019 to August 3, 2019 and stayed at this fairly new 5 storey hotel. I didn't expect much from this hotel since I was expecting it to be a 3 Star Hotel. Maybe I should start with the things i "surprisingly" didn't expect. We were placed on the 5th floor and there were no elevators to make reaching your rooms easier, other than that, the place was amazing, our room had A/C, Hot Shower, water dispensers Hot/Cold on every floor, Smoking Veranda on the 5th Level, Free Breakfast, 3-5 minute walk to El Nido Beach/Port, Restaurants and Convenience Stores. Staff were all so generous and accommodating and are always willing to help you with all your concerns and questions. I will surely recommend this hotel to all my friends and hope to stay there again next year.
Positive about this hotel: room was ready for check-in at 11am, breakfast was included and "ok", staff are friendly (common in Philippines) Negative: the water stinks and they don't seem to be able to fix this (perhaps a rotten pipe?), aircon is super noisy, didn't allow 1 hour late checkout Overall pretty bad value for money.
+ friendly staff very help full - dirty bad sheets in our first room after switching rooms the beds had dirty sheets again so I figure it is something frequent! - nasty smell in the water especially in the rooms on the ground floor (we were able to switch rooms to the 2e floor, where it was a bit more bare-able) - showers flood the entire floor prepare for wet feet if you go to the toilet after taking a shower if you don’t bring slippers We only stayed for 2 nights which made it bare-able! sad to say but I would not recommend staying here for your entire vacation The worst thing was the smell of the water and the nasty bed sheets.
Had an urgent trip to El Nido and this place was the only one available. I understand that it is budget-friendly so expectations really should not be so high but one thing I couldn't stand is the smell of the water everytime I would open the shower or faucet. It smells like sh*t. Stayed here for 2 days and I couldnt bring myself to take a bath again the next day. Rumors have it that there are only very few places in town that have STPs so all others that dont, have wastewater coming out of their faucets.
I feel there have to be so many better choices than this one in El Nido (which we adore this town.) the hotel location is good, close to town but off the main drag so it’s a little quieter. We had no view but did avoid the noisy side where the construction is keeping everyone awake. The breakfast was pretty good. I question how clean the room was. My main concern was the safety. First, our room on the Second floor had loose floor tiles. Like literally could have hurt ourselves. My husband (a native of the country) asked to be moved which they did oblige and move us the next day for our other 3 nights. Couldn’t move us the first night bc they were booked. The worst part was the first night at about midnight I was about to doze off and I noticed the air con had cut off. After a few minutes I realized we had no power. I didn’t panic bc I have heard power is sometimes and issue in the country. My husband felt something was wrong and opens the door. Sees a couple leaving and says what’s going on. The couple responds there was a huge fire a block and a half over from the hotel and it wasn’t controlled. We throw our things in a suitcase and evacuate. My problem is this: if it hadn’t been for my husband opening the door and finding out there was a fire, we would have never known. Several people were outside evacuated but only bc they could see the fire from their window (on our side of the hotel, we couldn’t.) never any word from ththe staff, no fire alarm, no nothing. I wonder how many people slept through this and never knew anything was going on. So incredibly scary if the fire dept hadn’t been able to get the fire under control. I must note that this fire was large and took out 5 businesses all next to one another. Also, note that have 5 stories and no elevator. Just keep that in mind.
Booked this hotel 4 month before our trip based on reviews and photos posted on booking and agoda sites. Was very dissapointed to see the room looked nothing like the description and photos sent on our confirmation. And had no view!Especially since we booked the room on 5th floor (no elevator) with a "stunning view of the sea and cliffs" for...the view!! What view we had (through a small window)was of the construction site next door -which is currently at 4th floor. Dusty, noisy and no privacy. Bed is comfy and room is clean. Bathroom gets flooded when you shower(bad insulation of the shower cabin). Breakfast offers instant coffee and tea only. Real coffee is charged extra.
We stayed for 6 nights at the Coral Cliff Hotel. + Staff are friendly and helpful + Good scrambled eggs and Pancakes + drinking water stations on every floor - Rooms not sound proof to outside noise so Make sure to pack ear plugs - construction of an apartment building is going on next door which seemed to start about 8am so if you like sleeping in, you won’t. - the shower water smells terrible. I’ve heard this is an E Nido thing? But still be prepared for that. - our shower water leaked out around the toilet and bathroom instead of going down the plug. They had created a tunnel for the water to do this through the silicone, so it was deliberate. It meant we had to use our towels to dry up the floor. - Air conditioning unit was NOI-SEY. Again, pack ear plugs. - no tea/coffee making facilities or fridge in room. Noteworthy, there is no elevator and you could be on the 5th floor so be prepared for stairs. Also, rates much cheaper when booking on arrival than what we paid through booking.com if not travelling peak season wait til you get there to book.
Great location, (we walked easily from the pier), nice staff, reasonably clean, lovely breakfast. Not great value for money though as friends of ours switched due to lack of availability and got somewhere as nice for less
The Coral Cliff Hotel isn't especially fancy, but I found it pleasant for a three-day stay. The bed and pillows are both comfortable, and the shower works well. There is no hot water in the bathroom sink, however, which, with dim lighting, makes shaving a chore. Also, the toiletries are limited to soap and shampoo, so you may want to bring your own conditioner and moisturizer. Also bring your earplugs, because a new building is being constructed immediately adjacent to the hotel. I didn't find the construction noise too bothersome, maybe because being on a tour meant getting up early anyway. The breakfast buffet has limited offerings, but I found the quality pretty good. El Nido is a small town, so everything in the "downtown" area is easy walking distance from the hotel. For a great sunset view, a "tricycle" (which would be called a "tuk-tuk" in some other countries) can take you to Cabanas Beach in about 10 minutes. Among the restaurants we tried, my clear favorite was Agape for excellent Greek food.
