We have stayed at this HIE multiple times, even before the HI was built right beside it. On our recent stay we only stayed one night (28 May) on our return to Ontario from our HHT in Wainwright. Staff at the front desk was friendly and courteous upon our arrival and got us checked in promptly. We were awoken suddenly in the middle of the night (around 2ish) by a gracious and alarming fire alarm, but were back to bed just after 3. We got up in the morning to check out for our flight and were offered a discount on our stay due to the fire alarm. I declined as I'm quite sure it wasn't intentional and/or deliberate. We will stay again.
Interestingly reading some of the reviews and the lady who provided awful service upon check in to some guest, I must have gotten her! She was running from the Holiday Inn back to the HIE. I had 3 bags coming in, she thanked me for being a gold member, but then the awful "ID & CREDIT CARD" - by which time my hands were tied up and i was hoping for a Welcome and tell me more about the hotel. ( never stayed there) I think hotels should dismiss most check in agents and just get a kiosk or machine that we can scan our ID and credit card if agents cant make you feel welcome, they serve no purpose. They have no restaurant - it is across the street at the Holiday Inn, hence I cant see why the $100 incidental holds- all other low level hotels in the area is $50! Off to the room- small, creepy, dark and bad housekeeping - holding up the white towels to the light and you see brown and long hair in the shower is a NO NO! the chair in the room, the small sofa is so dirty and needs replacing and the bed is so soft. Housekeeping cant even make up a bed properly! Breakfast is average . You can know an average/bad hotel when you check out and they dont ask how was your stay. I would NOT be going back here at all!!!
Stayed two nights here over a holiday weekend and were very impressed with the rooms. They were large and spacious with everything we needed. Went down for breakfast the first morning and by the time we came back the room had been made up already. The breakfast was ok offering both hot and cold items. Had a bit of a mix up with the elevator as it depends which tower you are on as to which elevator you have to take but that was probably my fault. Very good rooms and breakfast for the price paid and the pool and waterslide was a good time for our little grandson for a short break from family. All in all we will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
We had an issue of a dementia patient wandering away from on his supervised room. He was wandering around lost when we found him by the elevators. We took him to the front desk and Leanne tried a variety of rooms till we found where he belonged. The rooms were reserved for a wedding and she made phone calls and door knocked until we found his people. Thank you, this could have ended very badly. The hotel is pretty good, they supply ear plugs for the train noise. We have stayed at many hotels near the airport but no other hotel has made any effort about noise good job
Decent hotel with good service and good breakfast BUT there is a train right by the hotel that goes by many times every night and is VERY loud. They give you complimentary ear plugs but it just isn't enough. I like to be able to open the window (which is why I chose this hotel so that's a plus), but if you do that here it's just way too loud. Good hotel for the deep sleepers I guess. On a plus, the staff was friendly and nice and the breakfast was pretty decent.
We chose to stay at this hotel because of the reviews online, I can honestly say I have never been so disappointed. We checked in on April 18 expecting a fantastic stay, problems began almost as soon as we arrived. We have the front desk girl our names and she advised us that we did not have a reservation at this hotel, she then told us perhaps we should walk across the parking lot to see if our reservation was at their "sister^ property, So we grudgingly walked over to the other hotel only to be told we did not have a reservation here either, We then walked back to the holiday Inn express and again inquired about our reservation, After about 10 minutes the girl exclaims *Oh I found it*. At this point my patience is wearing thin, Finally after all of the necessary paperwork we are off to our room, Once we arrive we open the door and the smell of old musty hotel room hits us almost immediately. We figure maybe we could open the window but nope that doesn't work. We call the front desk and we explain the issue of the odour the girl says to us, sorry there is nothing I can do other than bring you a bottle of febreeze. I told the girl that no, we would like to change rooms or have a full refund, she advises that both of those options are not permitted. She then goes on to tell us she would have a manager from the hotel next door give us a call, I ask her why the manager next door had to call and she says, because we don't have a manager who works here. We waited for the call from a manager and it never came through. After waiting an hour we finally left upset 120 dollars poorer and ended up staying at the four points located nearby. If you are needing a hotel near the airport I suggest you book elsewhere.
I stayed at this hotel many times in the past. On the last stay however I forgot some clothes in my room. The hotel confirmed that they have my clothes. I went twice to pick it up but the hotel manager told me they would mail them to me as they were locked up by house keeping. The saga still to this day continues where I email and call this careless dishonest hotel on a weekly basis only to be to told that they would be mailed. I'm absolutely appalled by the non existent customer care and service at this hotel. I am a spire member and I have contacted Ihg who has been trying to get this negligent hotel to give me clothes back and the hotel continues to ignore all my requests to give me my clothes. I am now left with no option but to make a police report on this hotel and get the authorities involved to get my property back. Thanks but no thanks Holiday inn Express EDMONTON airport for jerking me around for months to get you to give me my property back. Two thumbs down
The staff and rooms were very accommodating at the Holiday Inn Express in Leduc. Kids had a blast at the pool and slid down the slide to many times to count... Beds were comfortable and room was kept clean by the staff.
Great staff, located close to airport. Manager was very accommodating.breakfast items were plentiful. Hotel is located across the street from the eclipse restaurant food was very tasty. I will be back again!!
Nice people, but I've been at this hotel many times over the past year, and have seen the same window screen pulled out and visible from the parking lot, AND the first floor ice maker has been broken for over a year. There used to be (2) hot water dispensers in the breakfast area, one for coffee and one for oatmeal. One would not heat water so they eliminated it, rather than replacing it. Very poor representation from their management / ownership.
