Lovely house!
We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge. Overall, a lovely cosy house!

Daughter visit quarters
Just finished a 9 day stay while helping our daughter with some upgrades around her place. I chose this cottage since it is very close to her place, but would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh or the nearby countryside. It is only 11 miles to the city, but you can also catch a train from either Gorebridge or Newtongrange and be at Princes Street downtown in just over 30 minutes. The cottage is very clean and smells very fresh with very nice carpeting throughout and all the gadgets you need for your stay. My only regret was not spending any time exploring the grounds which look fabulous. My daughter comes here for a bonfire in the fall I believe. The information provided in the binder in the cottage was very helpful. Will definitely check availability next time we are in town to visit our daughter.

Tranquil location
Check was easy, the place neat and clean. Living room has fire place where you burn wood - absolutely amazing experience. Near by field has chickens and other animals, choice of fresh eggs every morning. Plenty of parking spaces . So quite, the only sound you hear is burning of wood. Highly recommended

Lovely little cottage
We had a lovely stay. Ground were gorgeous and cottage was lovely. Would of been good to have a few more staples such as toilet paper and washing powder. Beds were quite hard. Was lovely to be able to cook and an easy train ride to Edinburgh.

Lovely location only a short way outside of Edinburgh. Great setting with views and countryside all around. Communication from Henrietta prior to our stay was perfect. Would highly recommend and hopefully we will be back.
