Pro- The hotel is in a great condition a very short walk off the Royal Mile. Con- I HATED the bathroom in the hotel room. It is in a pod style where there is a step up into the bathroom, a split shower door to your left that sprays water into the rest of the bathroom area through the holes in the glass that replace having actual handles, and obvious water damage to bottom of bathroom door from previous shower issues. The bathroom is horribly designed and was a huge negative during the stay. Neutral- The front desk staff offered me a discount on breakfast if I added it at check in since I hadn't pre-booked. When I agreed the staff had a really hard time figuring out how to add the breakfast and it delayed check in significantly. Breakfast was fine but not great and wasn't worth the add on time or expense versus going to a nearby shop. My room card also randomly deactivated which was really frustrating since the elevator requires a card to allow you to select a floor.

Room was great, lovely and clean, quiet, bed soooo comfortable, shower powerful and hot. Great tea and coffee.hotel is also in a great location for exploring Reception staff incredibly polite….. of things that could be improved……. Better signage within hotel, it’s a big hotel, we were on the 6th floor and really struggled to find reception even tho we knew it was on the 3rd or 4th floor?! Kept going round in circles! There was no ITV on the TV for some reason (tiny point I know!), and a pack of biscuits with the tea and coffee would have been appreciated. As would a poached/fried egg at breakfast? The rest of the breakfast was amazing, lod sof choice :). The positives outweighed the negatives so would definately stay again but points that maybe could be mentioned just in case someone wants to make an experience even better.

The room was clean, quiet, and in a great location a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The room had some unique features like a 'pod' shaped bathroom with shower doors that split down the middle like saloon doors. There are no outlets on either side of the bed which mad charging devices difficult. My room was very cold and whenever i turned the thermostat up it would revert back to first, cool temp. There are 2 spare pullows but nonspare blankets in the room.
