The staff was truly lovely and helpful with information. They were renovating and updating some of the rooms so there was a tiny bit of construction going on but our room was nice and clean. It was close to the Hogmanay festivities which was what our priorities were.
Was ok. Rooms are spacious. Construction happening close by so got decent sleep. Staff were ok.
The is no elevator nor porter to help with bags so be prepared to carry up several flights possibly. The staff was very kind and efficient. The location isn't bad for the price if you like to walk, which I do.

I had a little difficulty finding the hotel but once I found it, I was very satisfied with the accommodations. The room was modern, clean and quiet. The breakfast was excellent. I walked from the train station, but the walk may be a little too far for some travelers. I would stay at the Ballantrae Albany again.
Check in was quick and friendly. my room was clean and tidy. everything worked. I got a great deal so I had nothing to complain. the best thing about this hotel is the location. It is only 7 minutes walk from the edinburgh train station and close to the hub of town. If i get a good deal, i will stay there again.
