We only had an overnight stay but it was utterly superb. Accommodation was enormous and super luxurious, the pool was lovely to laze by for the afternoon, dinner and the wine selection was exceptional. A very elegant property and we highly recommended.

Great location in PE - back from the main road. Service was very good. Breakfast was average. Restaurant was average. Close to Pick & Pay & laundromats. Good value for the price. Would stay again if back in PE.

My partner and I stayed here for only 1 night, the staff were lovely, got shown around the hotel straight away. The suite was massive, very clean and we had the comfiest bed we’ve ever been in. The best sleep. Would recommend highly.

We chose this hotel to end our three weeks away in South Africa. We stayed on the night of the 22nd January. We specifically chose the hotel as we wanted to relax in the Champagne bar and by the pool. When we checked in we were advised that a private christening was taking place in those areas between 2 and 4. Clearly we were disappointed but decided to go for a walk and drop our car off at Port Elizabeth airport. We returned at 4.30 to be told that the christening didn’t arrive until 4. There was no way we could enjoy the pool area and champagne lounge. We decided to try and make the most of our stay and order a bottle of fizz to have in our room ( they do have excellent lounge areas ). I went downstairs to be greeted with a lady changing a baby’s nappy on one of the tables in the restaurant. Surely one of the hotel staff should have pointed her in the direction of the restrooms. Eventually the fizz was delivered to the room, but we couldn’t really enjoy it as the noise coming from downstairs was like being on top of a crèche. We dined in the restaurant during the evening, the food was good but they had run out of still water and cold fizz. The reason given was the christening had drunk it all in the afternoon. On the morning of check out, I requested a taxi for 11.30 and was asked if I would be out of the room by 11am as it needed cleaning. As you can imagine following the previous days disaster I was staggered. We left very disappointed that our three week holiday had ended on such a low. Everywhere else in South Africa we have experienced excellent surroundings and service. Unfortunately on this occasion this hotel failed to meet the anticipated standards and their service recovery was non existent. I would not recommend this hotel, there are plenty of others to chose from on the beach front.

After a safari at Kwandwe we had one night in Port Elizabeth so we stayed here based on a recommendation. It immediately felt welcoming and was breezy and beautiful. We had a suite so there was enough room for our son to have a separate area for his bed. Clever large bathroom with dual entrance toilet. The staff were attentive and we were well looked after. Dinner was yummy even though the service was a little slow. They have a cinema where our son watched a movie, a lap pool for a refreshing dip and spa on site for massages. I like the fact that it was boutique so we could feel relaxed and at home. A surprisingly delightful find that gave us one extra day holiday. Note the owner has a huge portfolio of properties so we shouldn’t have been surprised.

We had a very nice stay at No5. We had one night there and the hotel was much nicer than we had expected. We had large suite rooms, they had all comfort we could possibly want. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was close to the sea and about 10 min from the airport. We would highly recommend a stay at no5.

No. 5 was also an enrichment on my business trip this time. I enjoyed my stay, although not everything went smoothly. But this did not contribute to a bad overall picture. No. 5, I can only recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights on route to the game reserve. What an experience! Friendly efficient and helpful staff. First class service. Luxury and understated. We stayed in room no 1, the presidential suite. Generous lounge bedroom and bathroom decorated in the colonial period with many historical references to the history and culture of the area. An experience not to be forgotten. Highly recommended

A quick one night stop before an early flight but exceeded expectations with a very large suite and private garden. Great service from the front of house staff and just at 10-15 min drive to the airport. Also has secure, gated parking.

This is a true gem in an otherwise dull seafront of Port Elizabeth. If you are a lover of being catered & cared for to the limits, decadent dining & relaxing, this is a must try, you will not be disappointed.
