We prefered the hotel due to the name of Wyndam. Clean and comfortable . The compared prices are good in the city. Nearby to many places. All walking distance. Breakfast was ok. I will for sure stay here again. 👍🏻
We spent 3 nights here while visiting family. The hotel is very convenient for the city centre, being only a couple of minutes from the Ko. Our room on the third floor was quiet and quite large. You don't really get a Kingsize bed in Germany - it tends to be 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single duvets. Also I understand that Germans prefer hard mattresses compared to those in England! We opted not to take breakfast at the hotel as it was 14.50 Euros per person but you can get a quick breakfast for under 5 Euros which consists of a croissant, yoghourt or piece of fruit plus a coffee. Unfortunately it wasn't great as the croissants were pretty solid. However, there are a couple of coffee shops in the vicinity which give you options. Wifi was free and good, room clean and tidy.
Dear general manager, thanks a lot for your letter. I really have something to say. In order to help you with your attempts to improve quality of service I have to remember 10th August, about 18:20. It is a very descriptive evening for me now, however not thanks to something good. I have to say, it was hardly raining those evening. That is why my nephew politely asked administrator to borrow him an umbrella. Unfortunately, the administrator was so busy - she was talking the phone. She even didn’t show any reaction! Ten minutes later I also came to administrator, showing that the situation became unpleasant. Nevertheless, the administrator stil smiled, talked the phone and ignored us. Finally, my nephew took the umbrella himself and even this didn’t made the administrator pay attention to us. It is the most disrespectful behavior I have ever met. I feel offended. I wish you success in process of improving the service!
Excellent value for money hotel, close to shops ,harbour , river and old town. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station and all the attractions mentioned. Situated in a quiet street with bars /restaurants around. Bed very comfy, room had fridge stocked with soft drinks replenished daily and a free safe. Will definitely return to this hotel next time I'm in dusseldorf.
Ok hotel to spend one night driving on the Highway. Otherwise I would not recommend this hotel, it is cheap, the room was clean, the beds were ok, the shower is small but functions well, the reception is kind and is very fast, good staff! Breakfast was average.
This hotel is very clean and the staff were excellent. My room was very comfortable and the en-suite was very clean with most things for your needs supplied i.e. shower gel, soap etc. and toothpaste was available from reception should you need it. TV and WiFi in the room too. Hopefully I would love to revisit this City again and would like to be able to stay in this excellent hotel again too!
My experience was overall a pleasant one. The hotel staff seemed to take pride in their work as each day the room was cleaned very well and all used items in the room were restocked. Marie at the front desk was fantastic and made heroic efforts to satisfy and please disappointed and angry customers. Customers were angry because like in previous reviews I have read of this hotel, the air conditioning in their rooms did not work. The air conditioning in my room did not work either. Marie, though she tried to compensate the guest for their disappointment could do nothing to fix this. The air conditioning being broken was not in itself a tragedy to me. I come from a warmer climate than Dusseldorf and found the ambient temperature of the city quite pleasant, I merely opened the windows and the room cooled down pleasantly. Getting rest however became a challenge. With the windows opened all the noise of the city comes stampeding into the room. The trams going by on Corneliusstrasse; the emergency services screaming by; cars with loud tailpipes going by at 1am; the group of men singing their way home at 3am, all of these items combined made getting any rest a challenge. Other issues I was having: No currency exchange as advertised, I needed it. If early check-in was available I was not aware of it and could have used it. No concierge that I was aware of, but Marie was very helpful in helping us find good places to visit. No restaurant on site. There are many close by.
Before anything, the personnel was great. Very understanding and trying to fix problems that aren´t directly their fault. MARIA, who was the one who was there to solve my problems deserves a 5. With that said, the hotel during my stay deserves a 2 . I stayed two nights in which I had ended up with back pain, and the hotel was HOT, no air conditioning in two of the three rooms I ended up getting! Which is a MUST for hotels. Night 1: I am given a very small room (clean though, and good clean bathroom as well). BUT, this room had the worst bed I had ever slept in. I don´t know if the matress was VERY old or what, but I literrally sunk into the matress, leaving me with back pain the next day, and also having a terrible night because of it. Not only was the bed terrible, but the room was VERY hot...and the air conditioning didn´t work. Sadly Maria couldn´t change my room because they were fully booked so she brought in a Fan, at least it was a solution.. but a fan in a 4 star hotel? Night 2: They changed my room. GREAT! The bed was finally comfortable, which means the other one might have been broken or very very old, but a few hours into my stay, the room was still HOT. I called for the famous fan...guess what? no more fans available...more rooms had this problem. I called Maria again, and she looked up for available rooms and went in to verify the air conditioning. THANKFULLY she found one, and so I moved into my third room. Third time is a charm (Good bed, and cold room). She even came with a box of chocolates to sweeten the bitter stay. In general, my opinion is that if you get my last room, it´s a 3 star hotel, with a 5 star service. If you get the other rooms, its a first class hostel, not a hotel. Finally,, something I would have done differently is that I would have verified that 2nd room had a working air conditioning. My room was changed during the morning, in another shift, so I guess the personnel weren´t as informed as Maria.
After forgetting my sweater, I called the hotel when I came home. The staff found the sweater in my room and sent an express package to my address in The Netherlands free of charge. This is something they didn't need to do but still insisted on doing.
Came here many times, business reasons. Breakfast is very low on options, nothing changes from day to day, room doors don't always open... I would choose NH or Leonardo, at the same price range. Good thing is that it's well located neer Altstadt, it's clean and you have 4 drinks daily included with the room.
