My husband and I have been loyal Van der Valk customers since moving to Europe 2 years ago so I’ve hesitated writing a negative review. However this will be our second stay in a sub par van der valk property. We have stayed at this location a few times as we fly back to the states from this airport. Upon arrival the first room they gave us reeked of body odor and some other unidentifiable smell so we asked for a new room. Our new room smelled better but stains on the floor, stains on the towels, a fingernail in the bathroom the shower barely worked. Things didn’t get better when we went to the sauna as two saunas were broken used towels were everywhere and a shower was broken. Top this off with some idiot using his laptop to watch a game in the relaxation area. When we got back to our room we phoned the front desk to tell them of the state of the sauna and all she said was “there’s a phone in the area you can use to call us” ??? Not sure what this would have accomplished. Not sure what’s going on with this line of hotels. Perhaps better employees or more attention to upkeep of the properties. The one good thing about our stay is that the food is always amazing at a van der valk. We will rethink staying at any of these properties in the future. The other property outside Antwerp was this bad if not worse with cobwebs in the room.

This is indeed a lovely hotel. I stay at Valk hotels all the time but this is very different. The facility is very nice however after getting to my room I noticed immediately that there was a key in the slot inside the room, the window was open and it smelled like smoke. I had to use the bathroom and decided to go down after, to let them know that someone had smoked in the room but it was not me. In the bathroom, suddenly the room door opened, it scared me but as my luggage was right in front of the door, I think I surprised whomever came in. When I came out of the room, I grabbed my stuff and went downstairs. I had called out as soon as I heard the door open but they left quickly. I suspect it was an employee using the room for a regular break. My room was changed and I went to new room, all was fine. I needed a 4am wake-up call for a flight. As I went to sleep I decided to call the front desk to confirm my wake up call. The phone was not attached to the wall... a decoration. I tried to find a cord and reconnect but cord in room did t fit phone. I got dressed, went to front desk, as they told me how odd this was... they said they would send someone up to fix it. No one showed up so again... I am back at the front desk. This time I was carrying the phone. I had to be up early, and was t going to stay up longer for them to get it together. I told them they had to send someone to my room to knock. Which I. Fairness they did do. Shuttle to airport... that was there, a taxi as they don’t have a shuttle. The taxi was not given correct info either for 2 days he told me. Get it together Valk!

Large room, great (also in size..) bed and neat and clean bathroom. Breakfast should be called breakfeast.. The bar offers a wide variety of specials (whisky's, gins etc). Nice atmosphere, knowledgeable bartenders. Friendly and professional staff.

For seminars well equipped: nice rooms, wifi, delicious catering (drinks, snacks, restaurant); there are both bigger and smaller rooms for business events. Unfortunately, the taxi needs at least 20 minutes to the city center (around 30 Euros), and the hotel parking is free only for the first 24hours.

what else can i say, the room is tidy, the service is with a smile and the food is just great. took a couple's retreat before the baby comes so 8 month pregnant and i have to say i am much more relaxt. also i love the beds and the sound of the airplanes are there but for me it was no bother to it. nice hotel, not only for travelers but also for relaxing

A great hotel with spcious rooms that are extremely well sound proofed. All the staff were very efficient in tending to your needs. The meals were of a good standard and a comfortable bar area. The conference rooms were sizeable with coffee, soft drinks and snacks available. Would certainly have no hesitation in booking this hotel for future visits.

I thought I had booked an average hotel near Dusseldorf airport and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. On the outside, the hotel is nondescript but inside it is elegant and very nicely laid out. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were large, clean; separate shower with a large head; there was a fridge with free bottled water; there is also a coffee machine in the room. Breakfast wasn't included in our room rate and at 17.50 euros, it wasn't cheap but the buffet itself was very good. Great choice of meats, cheeses, hot food, sweet stuff and good coffee. I didn't know this was a chain but I would definitely stay again; a real find.

This hotel has it all. It is situated close to Düsseldorf airport (10 minutes by taxi) and the German autobahn. When you intend to fly out of 'Düsseldorf and you stay one night in the hotel, you can leave your car in their parking garage for free. Everything in the hotel is well thought off and at van der Valk you Always get value for money. The restaurant is superb with a great menu and the food is very well prepared. A nice bar with plenty of choices and good bartenders. The rooms are extremely spacey with great view over the area. Booking this hotel will not be a disapointment.

On a recent USA to Europe trip, my elderly father got stuck in Dusseldorf due to the massive Air Berlin flight cancellations and I decided to book this hotel so that he has a decent place to sleep. Only problem was that I mistakingly put in the wrong dates and booked the hotel for the week after! Once my father got to the hotel he called me as they obviously could not find his reservation and after some digging we realized the dates are wrong. Honestly, I was ready to pay whatever price to have him stay at the hotel to spare him any extra hassle and the hotel staff knew this. However, instead of taking advantage of the situation, the amazing front desk lady still honored my incorrect reservation and gave my father an excellent room! I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of this gesture... it really goes to show that the employees and management are top notch and truly have their priorities straight. Thank you again for taking care of my father!

easy to reach and have free parkings. Hippie and trendy interior. Room is big enough. Good view with 2 big white sofas by the window in room. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast and dinner also nice. Even having snacks by The Basserie in terrace. Very relax stay!
