I have stayed here before and was impressed with the high standard of the hotel and its location. However, this stay was disappointing for two reasons: 1 - the Reception Desk staff were not very welcoming. After a long day of travelling it would be nice to be greeted with a smile and friendliness. It took me a minute to realize that I was talking to a real person and not a robot.... 2 - Our Executive room was located on the 14th floor and had to be directly below the gym as there was constant loud noises from people running on the treadmill and from weight lifters.....in addition there was a very large stain on the carpet of god knows what......absolutely horrible. All in all a very disappointing stay.
This is my second short stay at the Van Der Valk and I could not be more disappointed (as my first stay was excellent). The ladies at the Reception Desk were not really interested in "customer service". A simple thing as greeting someone staying at your hotel with a smile would go a long way....they just seemed...cold. The Executive Room on the 14th floor was disappointing because of the stains on the carpet, but especially because the room (1412) must be directly under the gym (the weight room specifically). The banging/dropping of weights from some dude was maddening - I could not even listen to the tv at a "normal" level. I thought of calling the Front Desk....but Point #1 above. The hotel needs to do better....
This was one of the best hotels I have been for a long time: beautiful contemporary design, fast and efficient check in, restaurant all organic and environmental friendly. Room: big space, big TV, unbelievable view, beautyful modern bathroom with huge tub and shower. Brrakfast: excellent !!!!
All in all good value for money as rooms large and comfortable.managed free parking but you need transport as not a lot around hotel in my opinion.Staff friendly and food in restaurant was good.About 3 Kms from airport and has a nice spacious lobby.
On first appearances a modern and well serviced hotel. Our executive room was very spacious, including 2 armchairs by a beautiful large window, The bathroom also was very large and the view from the gym and peaceful " wellness centre" were extensive. The check-in staff on 2 occasions noted the incorrect room for us, this did cause some inconvenience and confusion about payment and our pre-booked taxi, time wasted as we are on our way for an international flight.. It was disappointing to find sticky 'splashes' all over the toilet seat, and also to find the complimentary slippers sitting in a pool of liquid and hair....which then leads one to think.....just how clean is this room?
exellent hotel +- 4km from the old city and the exhebition halls and airport we recomended junior suite extra large rooms efficient price quality the best exelent Bar restaurant good chose of france and italian wines you feel home kind Regards Daniel Haezaerts
Have stayed at this hotel numerous times, as we have a sales meeting here every January. Stay here in January again, and while there are some staff who provide good service eg Anja in the bar, I have never seen a grumpier looking bunch of employees in my life. Its as if management have decreed that smiling is am major offence. I have never understood why people would choose a job where they have to deal with customers when they obviously don't enjoy what they are doing. Wouldn't stay here by choice.
5 minutes from Düsseldorf Aiport , easy parking and great access to highway. Rooms are very acceptable as a business traveller, very good restaurant, breakfast is usual European style . Not very near any amenities that is a real let down, city is around 20 minutes by taxi. Some times deals available on rooms, can be a bit pricey
I stayed in this hotel for one night and let me honestly tell you that everything exceeded my expectations from the room, location and customer service. The hotel in about 5-10 min from the Airport. Rooms are super clean, updated bathrooms with jacuzzi tub. The view was great from my room seeing the planes landing on the airport. I believe there were 2 restaurants and bar area. Lobby was nicely decorated. Take my advice and next time you visit Germany (Dusseldorf) stay in this hotel.
I have been in this hotel for 2 nights. I ordered the suite because of the nice badroom, and especially for the shower with eucalyptus. On arrival in the room, there was a bad smell of dirty water. I tried the shower with steam and eucalyptus: the steam was no problem, the eucalyptus was not available: it smells dirty! I have complained 3 times in total at the reception, but the hotel didn't solved this problem at all. Everybody was excusing for this issue, but nobody did something. When I arrived the 2 second day in my room, 2 of the 3 windows stood wide open. The temperature in the room was 15 degrees, and the smell of dirty water was still hanging in the room. Paying more than 500,00€ for 1 night, this was absolutely a bad experience and unacceptable.
