This is a very clean and nice place to stay, but only for cooler days. There is absolutely no a/c and the room has only a tiny fan to cool you down. I could not sleep most of the night even though I tried cooling down by taking several cold showers. Also you fan, tv and fridge all use one outlet so you can only use one device at a time. For those two things I give a poor rating.
I am staying in this hotel every year with my colleagues Its very clean and in perfect location Workers are friendly I recommend this hotel. So close the public transport by walking max 10 min And so close to shopping street
Despite is old fashon looks, this hotel has nice rooms with clean furnitures. It is not big but that's ok for spending few minutes per day in it. There is also a fridge you can use if you want to store some bottles. Breakfast is ok, not amazing but it is only 8€ which is a very decent price. Around you there is the Central station, as well as plenty of restaurant like the best Ramen restaurant in Dusseldorf! Wifi is not perfect but enough to check emails or read news on websites.
perfect location right on the U station, 10 minutes walk to city center. the staff was super nice and helpful, went out of their way to help and guide us. perfect triple room- spacious, clean, facilitated and good wifi. breakfast was excellent! in general we had an awesome stay, would absolutely recommend!!!
Close to central station, close to the center, good location. Decent breakfast. Clean room. Perfect for business traveler. Wifi sucks in busy period. Hotel employees are very friendly and helpful. Good price quality ratio.
I stayed her with my fiancee for five nights at the end of January 2017. I had booked for a double bed but what we had was a room with two single beds joined. They changed us room the second night, after we complained. The staff was very polite and friendly, the location ideal with metro station nearby and sightseeing in walking distance. Unfortunately the noise from nearby rooms was intense as there was no soundproofing. Finally, every morning there was a smell of frying food in our floor as well as in the lobby and dinning area.
For travel by train, excellent. 6 minute walk from station and transfer coaches/buses to airports. The hotel is in a busy area of the city so it's lively. There is a little noise - I see other reviews have mentioned this but this is expected in a city hotel. Good shish bar next door, late coffee/ cake shops nearby, a 24 hour kiosk, many bars and places to eat. Very good high end men's hairdressers nearby if you fancy a trim! Short walk to Altstadt and Rheinturm. An excellent location. The staff were excellent and friendly. The hotel is a little dark - there is old fashioned lighting in there and not much natural light. It wasn't a problem for us. The room was very clean. The lighting was old and it was a little dark. The shower was hot and powerful. Beds comfy. The breakfast wasn't the best, but couldn't be called bad. It was acceptable. Overall, a great 3* hotel in a great location. Clean, good staff. I don't hesitate to recommend it. Düsseldorf is a great city and this is a great base. Enjoy!
Booked this hotel for the location really and the price was very reasonable. I emailed the hotel before our trip for the Christmas markets to Dusseldorf and asked for a non smoking room at the front of the building which was what we got. Check-in was painless with a polite older gentleman on reception who gave us our key, and told us about the times for breakfast. We were also told we were to hand the key in each time we left the hotel. Room 42 was at the front of the building, which was quiet even when we opened the window as the rooms are hot. Basic furniture, 2 very small single beds, and flat screen TV, complimentary slippers, safe (you pay extra) and fridge. The bed my partner had literally creaked everytime he moved, and on wheels on a wooden floor, moved around a lot. The mattress hard, and the pillows were flat and terrible, so I phoned the polite gentleman on reception who brought me two pillows with suspicious looking stains on and two pillow cases for me to put them in! The room was generally clean though there were cobwebs in the corner of the ceilings. Breakfast was adequate with everything you could require, however this was again set up by the polite gentleman who was still in his bedroom attire each morning. As the night porter he had his make shift sofa bed with sheets at the side in the room where you would go for breakfast as this is where he obviously slept, then got up and set the breakfast room up for 7am. Not sure about the hygiene standards here, as he had 'bed hair' and also had the same clothes on he slept in, this was clearly obvious. He also wore the most stained pinny I have ever seen each morning, which was rather off putting. The hotel is situated in a great location only a short walk to major city sites, but the hotel lacks character, there is a 'mishmash' of furniture with signs (see my photos) of how much you would be charged if you break anything, really funny as alot of the furniture was something I would expect in a bedsit. WiFi very hit and miss. The lift has to be the smallest lift I have ever been in, but it did work. What the hotel is doing is renovating some rooms so around 8.30 each morning you heard tiles getting chipped and knocked off adjoining room walls, and lots of drilling. This was on the Monday, (we arrived late Sunday night) and we're told it was just for one day, but unfortunately this was still happening on Thursday when we checked out. Not sure I would stay here again, due to uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, and a lack of hygiene at breakfast. What I will say is that all the staff were helpful and friendly and spoke great English.
Stayed here on our cycle ride down the Rhine . Its very close to the alstade and Dusseldorf centre . we arrived very wet and asked for extra towels and were given some with no hesitation. Room perhaps a little dated but clean and acceptable . Breakfast good
Hotel was a little overpriced for how plain it was. Not in the best neighborhood. Rooms had no air conditioning so in June it was a little uncomfortable. Beds were firm, as are all European hotel beds. Overall okay visit, but very plain. Nothing to write home about.
